Movement triggers lights,
alarms and many other
devices. For your convenience
and safety.
Whether front door, garage,
patio or carport, whether
stairwell, storeroom or base-
ment, this infrared motion
detector is quickly installed
and ready for use at any
chosen site.
The IS 360 D TRIO for ceiling
mounting is equipped with
three 120° pyro sensors that
detect the invisible heat emit-
ted from moving objects
(people, animals etc.). The
heat detected in this way is
electronically converted into a
signal that switches ON loads
(e.g. a light) connected to it.
Heat is not detected through
obstacles, such as walls or
panes of glass, and will
therefore not activate the light.
The three pyro sensors
achieve a coverage angle of
360° with an aperture angle of
180°.

Reach max. 12 m
Note: The most reliable way
of detecting movement is to
install the light with the sensor
aimed across the direction in
which a person would walk
and by ensuring that no
obstacles (such as trees,
walls etc.) obstruct the line
of sensor vision.

n Disconnect the power supply
before attempting any work
on the motion detector and
securing it in place.
n During installation, the elec-
trical wiring you are connect-
ing must be dead. Therefore,
switch off the power first and
check cables with a voltage
tester to make sure they are
no longer live.
n Installing the sensor involves
work on the mains power
supply. This means it must
be done properly in accor-
dance with VDE 0100. (

Ceiling mounting
Caution: Installation means
making connections to the
mains power supply. 230 V
means danger to life!
Therefore, switch off the
power first and use a volt-
age tester to make sure the
wiring is off circuit. Installa-
tion of the sensor involves
work on the mains power
supply; this means it must
be done properly in accor-
dance with VDE 0100.
Please note that the motion
detector must be protected
by a 10 A circuit breaker.
The site of installation
should be at least 50 cm
away from a light source,
because heat radiated from
it may activate the system.
First remove the enclosure
trim
5. To do this, lightly
pinch both depressions
while twisting it anti-clock-
wise and pull it down and
off.
Using a screwdriver, now
undo both fixing screws
1 (anti-clockwise) and
remove the mounting plate.
Do not detach internal
wiring from terminal block,
but gently pull out entire
terminal assembly. Fit the
rubber plug provided into
the mounting plate. Hold
the mounting plate against
the ceiling and mark where
to drill the holes, paying
attention to any wiring
already existing in the ceil-
ing, drill holes; insert wall
plugs. For the motion
detector to trigger a switch-
ing operation, the mains
power must be fed to the
load by at least a two-core
cable. To do this, the rub-
ber plugs can be pierced
with a screwdriver. Two
pre-punched tabs are pro-
vided on the enclosure trim
5 for surface wiring. These
are easy to push through.
The mounting plate can be
screwed to the ceiling after
feeding the cables through.
Finally, return the enclosure
trim 5 and clip into place.
n Connecting the mains
power supply lead
The main supply lead is a
2 to 3-core cable:
L = live conductor
(usually black,
brown or grey)
N = neutral conductor
(usually blue)
PE = any protective
earth conductor
(green/yellow)
If you are in any doubt,
identify the conductors
using a voltage tester; then
disconnect from the power
supply again. The terminal
blocks are for the mains
power supply lead. Connect
the live conductor (L) com-
ing from above to the first
terminal (see arrow) and the
neutral conductor (N) to the
second terminal. Connect
any green/yellow protective
earth conductor to the last
terminal provided.
n Connecting power supply
cable for load
The load cable (e.g. to the
light) is also a 2 to 3-core
cable. Connect this to
terminals N and L’.
Connect the load's live
conductor (black or brown
cable) to the terminal
marked L’. Connect the
neutral conductor (blue
cable) to the terminal
marked N together with the
neutral conductor of the
mains power supply lead.
Connect any green/
yellow protective-earth
conductor to the last
terminal.
Important: Getting the
cable connections crossed
will produce a short circuit
in the light or in your fuse
box. In this case, you must
check the identification of
all cables and re-connect
them. A mains switch for
switching the light ON and
OFF can of course be
installed in the mains lead.
