∙ Caution: The hotplate and the bowl get very hot during
use and will remain so for some time afterwards.
∙ Do not insert your hand in the hot bowl.
∙ Only switch on the fondue set after the lled bowl
has been placed onto the hotplate. Only use the bowl
provided with the appliance.
∙ Do not leave the fondue set unattended while it is
switched on.
∙ Oil/fat may catch re when overheated. In this case, pull
out the plug and extinguish the re by placing a lid or a
metal tray onto the bowl.
∙ Never pour water on hot or burning oil/fat!
∙ Never attempt to carry or move the appliance when it
is hot. Spilled hot oil/fat may cause severe injuries or
burns.
∙ Make sure that no inammable materials are adjacent to
the fondue set.
∙ Take care that the power cord does not touch the
hot parts of the appliance and place it such that the
appliance cannot be pulled down.
∙ Always remove the plug from the wall socket
- after use,
- in case of any malfunction,
- before cleaning the appliance.
∙ When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull
on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
∙ No responsibility is accepted if damage results from
improper use, or if these instructions are not complied
with.
Stainless-steel bowl
Without its base, the bowl may be used on various types
of hot plates - such as Ceran, gas or electric - and is
dishwasher-proof.
Variable thermostat and indicator light
∙ If the thermostat control is set all the way to the right, the
heating element remains on. But if it is moved to the left,
the element will switch off and on alternately.
∙ The red indicator light remains lit as long as the heating
element is on.
∙ After use, return the thermostat to its lowest setting, and
unplug the appliance from the mains.
Before using for the rst time
Before using the appliance for the rst time, remove any
remaining packaging materials and stickers, and clean the
appliance as described in the Cleaning and care section.
How to use your fondue set
Preparing the appliance
∙ During operation, the appliance must be placed on
a heat-resistant surface, impervious to splashes and
stains. When cooking food with a high oil/fat content,
splashes are not always avoidable.
∙ Fill the bowl with the required amount of oil/fat, broth or
cheese, according to your recipe.
∙ When using oil/fat or broth, ensure that the level remains
between the minimum and maximum level marks.
∙ Do not exceed the marked Max. level when preparing
cheese fondue.
∙ Place the bowl onto the hotplate and plug in the
appliance.
Food preparation
Meat/vegetable fondue with oil/fat or broth
∙ Fit the splash guard on the bowl.
∙ Turn the thermostat control to its MAX position.
∙ Preheat the oil/fat or broth for about 20 minutes before
you put in the meat.
∙ Skewer the food onto the fondue forks and place them in
the bowl.
∙ When using oil/fat, the cooking time is approx. 1 ½ to 3
minutes and approx. 3 to 4 minutes when using broth.
