PLEASE READ THIS MANUAL BEFORE INSTALLATION AND OPERATION OF THE APPLIANCE.
Polish Granite liability is limited solely to the delivery of this inset stove / cassette.
Installation of the appliance can only be performed in accordance with building regulations,
and this manual, and only by qualified and adequately trained personnel.
The installer has a responsibility under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to provide for
the safety of persons carrying out the installation. Attention is drawn to the fact that fire
cement is caustic and hands must be washed thoroughly after use. The appliance is heavy and
care must be taken during handling. Although the appliance does not contain asbestos
products, it is possible that asbestos may be disturbed in existing installations and every
precaution must be taken.
These instructions give a guide for the installation of the appliance but in no way absolves the
installer from responsibilities to confirm to British Standards, in particular BS8303 and BS6461,
relating to the installation of solid fuel appliances. The installation should also comply with local
Building Regulations and Local Authority Bye-Laws. The stove must be placed at least 150cm
away from any combustible materials. If necessary, any adjoining walls should be protected
from the effects of heat.
1) Description
Fire place insert has been manufactured from cast iron blocks which are joined together with
bolts and sealed with heat resistant clay. Front of the stove and glass was sealed using glass
fiber.
Ash pan is situated at the bottom. Air flow lever is situated at the bottom part of the door.
Deflector which increases the combustion time is situated inside the appliance in its top
section. The appliance is equipped with adjustable baffle.
The appliance delivers heat by:
-Convection of air being sucked in at the bottom, heated and dispensed at the top.
- Radiation of the heat produced through the frame and glass.
2) Selection of the proper fire place inserts.
-Local and European regulations are to be followed when selecting the proper fire place inserts
to your house.
-Selection of fire place inserts as regards the heating power is determined by how well is your
house isolated and what size is the surface to be heated. As a rule of a thumb, it is given that
1kW is enough to heat up 10m2 surface with height of 2.5m.
3) Vents, Flues, Air circulation.
It is recommended that the diameter of the flue should be at least 200 mm.
-Min. height of chimney should be no less that 4m; optimal height is 5-6m.
-Chimney should be air leak proof with the same diameter all along the length. It should be at
least 0.5 m higher above the roof, otherwise the air flow may be affected.
-In special applications in ex: very windy areas, special cowl or fan may be needed to avoid the
reverse draw.
Warning:
-Chimneys with smaller diameter than required, crooked or situated in the valleys may not
produce required value of the air flow. All these cases are excluded from the warranty and the
producer can’t accept responsibility of unauthorized applications in these cases.
-It is absolutely necessary to perform air flow measurements to ensure the right range of flow is
present. Optimal flow is specified as 12 +/-2Pa; flow higher than 12 Pa can lead to overheating
of the furnace and void your warranty. Minimal flow is 6 +/-1 Pa.
All Chimneys required systematic maintenance a few times a year.
4) Air Supply
The right quantity of fresh air must be assured in the room where the appliance works. It is
recommended to deliver at least 10m3/h for each 1kW of power. Insufficient quantity of air will
cause excess of smoke and combustion products containing carbon monoxide which is
extremely dangerous to your health and life.
5) Installation of the appliance
Installation of the appliance can only be performed by trained and authorized persons. The
proper note /stamp should be placed in the warranty card.
This manual is to be followed when installing the appliance. The installing specialist should
ensure:
1) Free air convection between the furnace and the frame made of fire resistant materials.
Minimum 5 cm gap is required.
2) Ensure free air flow to the furnace as well as good exhaust. The size of the exhaust vent
is 1000cm2 (50-20cm). Ensure the exhaust can’t be blocked.
3) Ensure good ventilation through decompression vent size 200cm2.
4) Ensure minimum distance of 150 cm from the appliance to any flammable objects.
6) The operation
Initial firing is to be performed when all the building materials dried off. During initial firing big
fire should be avoided to prevent high temperature jump that may result in some materials
bursting. During initial firing specific smell will come off, this is because thermal protective
materials get harder. Smell will disappear after a few firings.
The doors should be kept closed while firing.
The recommended fuel for use is dried hard woods or eco wood briquettes. It is recommended
to use wood of humidity less than 20%, such humidity is achieved after 2 years of dry storing.
Wet woods (50-60% of humidity) are cost ineffective, burning them also lead to quick blockage
of the system.
Usage of other types of fuel is dangerous to people and appliance and leads to termination of
the warranty.
7) Maintenance
Glass should be regularly cleaned with special detergents available. Ash pan should be
dispensed before all woods are burnt because ash can block the system. Use proper hat
insulated metal tools to dispense the ashes. Make sure it is fully extinguish.
8) Safety
Installation should be performed by accredited company according to local and European
regulations.
During operation of the appliance special care should be taken to avoid burns, thermal gloves
are recommended.
Keep the required distances, min 150 cm from the appliance. Do not overheat. Use only original
spare parts available from the dealer. Any kind of alterations introduced to the appliance is
strictly forbidden. Do not leave working appliance unattended. Do not extinguish fire with
water. Do not dry your clothes by the fire. It is required to use carbon monoxide electronic
detectors.

parts :deflector, baffle,
hearth

fuels
Dispense ash pan regularly
check the air flow
Fumes getting into the room Wrong air flow Check and clean chimney,
possible installation of fan
Fumes getting into the room
during starting firing
Cold chimney Heat up the chimney, in ex
use more paper
Excessive flames Excessive draw, excessive air
flow
Restrict the air flow with the
adjusting lever
Fire dies Wet woods, logs too big, no
air flow
Use dry woods, check the air
flow
Glass gets dirty quickly Wet woods, insufficient air
flow
Use dry woods, check the
appliance proper installation,
check the air flow
