SETTING THE TIME AND DATE

NOTE

The meter prompts you to set the time

and date the rst time you turn the meter

on or if an error occurs.

• Press and hold down at any time until

the ashing test strip symbol appears

to perform a test.

•

The time and date on the meter

synchronises to the time and date on the

paired device each time the meter sends

data to the connected device. See the

chapter Wireless Communication and

Meter Pairing in your User Manual.

Press up to turn the

meter on.

Press and hold down

until set‑up appears

on the display. The

hour ashes. Press up

to increase the hour

or press down to

decrease the hour.

Press and hold up to

set the hour and move

to the next eld. The

minutes ash. Press up

to increase the minutes

or press down to

decrease the minutes.

Repeat step 3 to adjust

each eld. After setting

the year, press and hold

up until the ashing

test strip symbol appears

to save your settings.

to test blood glucose from more

than one person as it does not

incorporate any features to

guard against cross‑infection.

This document does not replace

the detailed User Manual for

NOTE

• You need the meter, a test strip and a nger pricker with a lancet inserted to perform a blood sugar test.

• A blood sugar test cannot be performed while the meter is connected to a PC with a USB cable.

PERFORMING A BLOOD SUGAR TEST WITH BLOOD FROM YOUR FINGERTIP

Your test result appears with an arrow. This arrow shows

if your test result falls above, within, or below the target

range.† The target range is represented by the green region

of the target range indicator. The arrow will ash if your test

result falls above or below this range.

Remove and discard the used test strip by pulling the test

strip out of the meter or by pushing the test strip ejector on

the side of the meter.

Wash your hands with

warm soapy water and

dry thoroughly. Prepare

the nger pricker.

Check the use by date on

the test strip container.

Do not use test strips past

the use by date.

Remove a test strip from

the test strip container.

Close the cap tightly.

Insert the metallic end of

the test strip into the meter.

The meter turns on.

When a ashing drop

symbol appears, perform

a nger prick with the

nger pricker.

Gently squeeze your

nger to assist the blood

ow. This helps you get a

blood drop.

Touch the yellow edge of the

test strip to the blood drop.

Do not put blood on top of the

test strip.

Remove your nger from the

test strip when the ashing

hourglass symbol appears.

Failure to move your nger away

from the test strip could give

inaccurate test results.

†The target range is set by

default at 3.9–8.9 mmol/L.

To change the target

range, pair the meter to a

mobile device, or connect

it to a PC with diabetes

management software

installed.

Consult your healthcare

professional before

changing the target

range.

A strip ejector for quick, hygienic removal.

Insert the lancet drum, white

end rst, into the nger

pricker. Push the lancet

drum all the way in until it

clicks rmly into place.

NOTE

Do not remove the lancet

drum until all 6 lancets have

been used since the lancet

drum cannot be reused once

it has been removed from the

nger pricker.

Replace the cap on

the nger pricker. Make sure

the notch on the cap lines up

with the notch on the nger

pricker.

Adjust the lancet depth to

a comfortable penetration

level. Start at 2 or 3. For

tougher skin, dial to a higher

number.

Using the Accu-Chek

FastClix nger pricker: By

pressing the release button,

the nger pricker primes and

pricks in 1-Click action.

SETTING UP THE FINGER PRICKER

Familiarise yourself with

the Accu-Chek FastClix

nger pricker.

NOTE

Each lancet drum contains 6

sterile lancets.

Remove the nger pricker

cap by pulling it straight off.

Do not twist the cap.

WARNING

Do not insert a lancet drum and press the release button

at the same time. Do not insert a lancet drum with the

release button resting on a surface, for example, a table

top. This could release a lancet which could inadvertently

prick you.

CONNECTING THE ACCU-CHEK INSTANT METER

TO THE MYSUGR APP

(for users over the age of 16 years)

On your phone make

sure Bluetooth® is

turned on. Then in the

mySugr app select

“Connections”

Choose Accu-Chek

Instant then select

“Connect” to initiate

the connection.

Turn the meter off

if it’s on, then press

and hold the bottom

button until you see the

Bluetooth® symbol on

the meter display.

You will then see the

serial number of the

Accu-Chek Instant

meter displayed in the

mySugr app. Select

the meter to conrm

connection.

Enter the pin number

that is on the back of

your Accu-Chek Instant

meter.

After you have entered

the Pin select “pair”

and the connection will

be completed.

CHANGING THE TARGET RANGE ON YOUR ACCU-CHEK INSTANT METER

Select “More” on the bottom right

of the home screen then select

“Prole Settings” then “Blood

sugar testing”.

Select your “Hyper” “Target

range” and “Hypo” and scroll up or

down to select the required range.

Once settings have been updated

you may receive a conrmation

message in the mySugr app.

You may also receive a conrmation

notication when your meter has

been updated to match the target

range on the mySugr app.

Your mobile device notication

settings will need to be turned on

for mySugr.

Once connected, you are able

to change the target ranges on

your Accu-Chek Instant meter

via the mySugr app. Consult your

healthcare professional before

changing the target range.

Start by opening the mySugr app.

To conrm the new target

range on the Accu-Chek Instant

meter, please perform another

blood sugar test.

HOW TO SETUP THE MYSUGR BOLUS CALCULATOR

(for users over the age of 18 years on multiple daily injections only)

WARNING

The mySugr Bolus Calculator is intended for the

management of insulin dependent diabetes by calculating

a bolus insulin dose or carbohydrate intake based on your

entered data. The mySugr Bolus Calculator is licensed for

people with diabetes over the age of 18 years.

On your home screen

select more. Select

Prole & Settings, then

on iPhone Insulin therapy

or on Android Settings,

and nally select Bolus

Calculator Settings.

Select the insulin that you

use and select next.

Fill out all the settings and

adjust the default values

to match your personal

values where necessary.

Onscreen descriptions are

available if you are unsure

of the information being

requested.

Select your target range.

If it remains unchanged

throughout the day

select Next. If it changes

“Time dependent” and
