bands tight in order to ensure that it is

7. Cut off the two excess lengths of fasting band and remove the protective film from the sur

face of the mirror.
8. Fasten the connecting cable to the bracket of the vehicle rear view mirror. Route the cable
above the top of the windscreen and down along the A-pillar to the installation position of
the navigation computer.

■ Compatibility
The MM 2100 is compatible with the PC 54xx navigation computers and above.
MM 2100 can be used to a limited extent in conjunction with the MI 2xxx multimedia inter-
face boxes
The MM 2100 is not compatible with the MI 5000 or MC 5400.
Troubleshooting
In rare cases, your system may not function the way you expect it to. Before calling the servi-
ce department, please read the operating instructions thoroughly and go through the follo-
wing check list; it may be possible to quickly remedy an apparent malfunction.
Symptoms Possible cause / remedy
The monitor is not functioning. There is no
reaction when the ignition is switched on.
• Check the fuses (navigation computer and vehicle) and the
connections (see installation instructions).
Ambient temperature excessively high.
A protective circuit prevents the temperature in the monitor from
exceeding a specified value.
• Allow the monitor to cool down.
The picture is excessively dark/bright. • Set the desired brightness at the mirror.
Guidance information not audible. • Set the desired volume at the mirror.
Navigation system is in standby mode but the
monitor backlighting is still switched on.
• Switching off the monitor via the on/off button.
The navigation system does not react to remote
control commands.
• Point the remote control at the infrared receiver 5 of the MM
2100 to operate the navigation system.
The battery symbol flashes in the navigation system status line:
• Replace the batteries of the remote control.
