In the event of a product failure, please initiate a service call through the Web site

first or contact our Phone-in Support Center, to obtain initial assistance.

If the problem cannot be solved on-line or over the phone, you will be referred to the authorised

Service Laboratory or to the Collection Center closest to your location (details in clause 7 of this

document).

Please note that the customer will bear the costs of transporting the product to and from the Service

Laboratory and/or Collection Center.

1 Nature of Warranty

This Warranty applies to HP products.

For the duration of the Warranty Period and subject to normal and reasonable use of the product,

HP warrants that the product will be free from defects in material and workmanship, and will comply

with the specification included in the documentation supplied with it. However, HP does not warrant

that the operation of the product will be uninterrupted or error free. The product specification and

additional instructions are included in the User Guide as well as on the company’s Web site

www.hp.co.il.

Service under the Warranty will be provided on production of this Warranty Statement signed by the

vendor together with the original purchase invoice of the product. For your convenience we suggest

you attach the invoice to the back page of this document.

The customer is responsible for installing and checking the product on its delivery. If the product is

defective, the customer shall notify HP not later than 14 days after the date of purchase.

Features and/or functionality of the product as defined in the specification and/or User Guide

and/or relevant standards applying to the product (including the number of faulty pixels in the

monitor of a notebook or Pocket PC) shall not be deemed malfunctions.

In the event that the product was purchased outside of Israel, you may be required to

ship it, at your expense, to an authorized repair centre in another country; warranty in Israel

shall apply only if models from the same product series are marketed in Israel, and subject to spare

parts availability. HP will not alter form, fit or function of this HP product to make it operate in a

country for which it was never intended to function for legal or regulatory reasons.

This HP Limited Warranty is subject to all applicable laws and regulations, including US and other

national export and import laws and regulations.

2 Warranty Period and Validity

The Warranty Period for HP products is one year unless otherwise stated in the User Guide, the

documentation supplied with the product, or (for PCs/notebooks) the label located at the base of the

product.

The Warranty Period begins on the date of purchase noted on the invoice.

3 Chargeable Repairs

HP shall be entitled to charge customer for repairs or replacements carried out on the product if

required under one or more of the following circumstances:

•

Force majeure; conflagration/fire/water damage; electrical disturbances; use of hardware,

software, interfaces or auxiliary materials not supplied or manufactured by HP.

•

Customer malice or negligence, including use of product contrary to User Guide instructions;

failure of or damage to supplies, product outer case, paint or coating, and Bakelite, plastic, or

rubber parts; application of pressure on Pocket PC monitors; transport by customer; non-

compliance with international legal restrictions (such as, with regard to DVD drives, viewing zone

restrictions).

•

Repairs carried out by parties unauthorised by HP, including (for Pocket PCs) removal of the label

that protects the product’s internal body from being opened.

4 Limitation of Liability

•

HP does not warrant fitness of the product for a particular purpose.

•

HP shall not be liable to the customer or any third party for indirect or consequential damages,

including loss or deletion of applications or data, recovery costs, loss of time and/or revenues,

damage to reputation, etc., whether or not caused by use of the product, product faultiness, or

actions taken in servicing the product (see also Recommendations clause below).

5 Post-Warranty Service

•

A repair service for products whose Warranty Period has expired will be provided in return for

payment. Repairs may be carried out locally or abroad and, at HP’s discretion, by replacing the

product or its components with an alternative refurbished product. The alternative product or part

may be reconditioned or used, but will in any event be functionally equivalent or superior to a

new unit. Certain product lines, including All-In-One machines, inkjet printers,cameras, scanners,

CD-RW drives, projectors, monitors, and back-up tapes are serviced only by replacement with

refurbished products.

•

Repair of products for which warranty duration is more than one year will be subject during the

second/third year to all that said in this Section (excluding payment). Further, when performing

such repair HP shall not be obligated to time-to-complete dates.

•

In repairing notebooks that are entitled to pickup-&-return warranty (if such is specified on the

label at the base of the product) HP shall not be bound with regard to waiting time.

•

Clauses 3 and 4 will remain in force after expiry of the Warranty Period and will apply to

servicing carried out for payment (with the applicable changes).

6 Recommendations

HP wishes you the utmost benefit from the new product you have purchased. To ensure this, we

recommend all of our customers:

•

To back up all the data stored on the product constantly, and in any case before handing the

product over to the laboratory for repair. Before handing the product over for repair it is also

recommended to remove from it any confidential, proprietary or personal information.

•

HP has a variety of service packages offering extensions and enhancements of the basic

warranty. For additional information, please contact the Information and Support Center as

indicated above.

Computers

a. Information on Batteries

As with all batteries, the maximum capacity of the battery supplied with the HP Product (in products

where a battery is included) will decrease with time and/or use. Battery life will vary depending on

product configuration and usage, including but not limited to product model and features,

applications running, and power management settings. Additional information on product

charging/battery use is included in the User Guide.

b. Note About Systems Configured with 4GB of Memory

For computers with a 32-bit operating system, all memory above 3GB may not be available because

of system resource requirements.

This limitation is not limited to HP and Compaq systems. The memory above 3GB is used for system

resources.

Confirming Total Memory

The system BIOS displays the full 4GB of installed memory.

1 Turn on the PC.

2 Press the F1 key. The BIOS menu displays. Confirm the Total Installed Memory.

c. Understanding Hard Disk Drive Space

The hard disk drive on the Hewlett-Packard and Compaq computers with the Microsoft Windows

operating system preinstalled may appear to be smaller than what is stated in the product

specifications, in the documentation, or on the box. Hard disk drives are described and advertised by

manufacturers in terms of decimal (base 10) capacity. Microsoft Windows and other programs, such

as FDISK, use the binary (base 2) numbering system.

In decimal notation, one megabyte (MB) is equal to 1,000,000 bytes, and one gigabyte (GB) is

equal to 1,000,000,000 bytes. In the binary numbering system, one megabyte is equal to

1,048,576 bytes, and one gigabyte is equal to 1,073,741,824 bytes. Because of the different

measuring systems, you may see a difference between the size reported by Microsoft Windows and

the size advertised. The storage capacity of the hard disk drive is as advertised.

Microsoft Windows reports smaller capacity in the Windows Explorer tool and in the Computer

window because it shows information about one partition on the hard disk drive at a time. One of the

partitions contains the system recovery information.
