Operation

Maintenance
ThePALDshallbemaintainedinaccordancewiththeproductinstruction.
1.Whenjackisnotinuse,liftingarmshouldbeinfulldownposition.
2.Alwayskeepjackcleanandkeepthescrewandbearingswelllubricated.
3.Keepmovingpartsclean;lubricatemovingpartsevery3months.
Inspection
(a)VisualinspectionshallbemadebeforeeachuseofthePALDbycheckingforabnormalconditions,
suchascrackedwelds,leaks,anddamaged,loose,ormissingparts.
(b)Otherinspectionsshallbemadeperproductoperatinginstructions.
(c)EachPALDshallbeinspectedimmediatelyifthedeviceisbelievedto
havebeensubjectedtoan
abnormalloadorshock.Itisrecommendedthatthisinspectionbemadebyamanufacturer'sor
supplier'sauthorizedrepairfacility.
(d)Ownersand/oroperatorsshouldbeawarethatrepairofthisequipmentmayrequirespecialized
knowledgeandfacilities.Itisrecommendedthatanannualinspection
ofthePALDbemadebya
manufacturer'sorsupplier'sauthorizedrepairfacilityandthatanydefectiveparts,decals,orsafety
labelsorsignsbereplacedwithmanufacturersorsupplier'sspecifiedparts.Alistofauthorizedrepair
facilitiesisavailablefromthemanufacturerorsupplier.
DamagedEquipment
AnyPALDthatappearstobedamagedinanyway,isfoundtobewornoroperatesabnormallySHALL
BEREMOVEDFROMSERVICEUNTILREPAIRED.Itisrecommendedthatnecessaryrepairsbemadeby
amanufacturer'sorsupplier'sauthorizedrepairfacilityifrepairsarepermittedbythemanufactureror
supplier.
Alterations
Becauseofpotentialhazardsassociatedwiththistypeofequipment,noalterationsshallbemadeto
theproduct.
AttachmentsandAdaptors
Onlyattachmentsand/oradaptorssuppliedbythemanufacturershallbeused.

(b)Restraininganincompatibleloadwillnotmaketheloadsecureandmaycauseunexpectedlossofload.
(c)Neverworkon,aroundorunderaloadthatisnotsecuredandstable.
(d)Keepoperator’sandbystander’shead,handsandfeetawayfromliftarmswhenraisingandlowering.

ASSEMBLYINSTRUCTIONS
1.Placehydraulicram(#H)ontothebase(#A)using(2)M8X25hexbolt(#4),(2)springwasher(#2),(2)washer
(#1),andusingboltM5X25(#8)tofixramtoconnectingrod(#D)thentighten.
2.Insertfootpedal(#I)tothe
hydraulicram(#H),andsecureusingM8X30bolt(#3).
3.Placesafetylockoperationrod(#L)inserttolink(#B)using(2)washer(#6),(2)lockingpin(#7)andlockingrod(#5).
4.Inserthandle(#E)toconnectingrod(#D)usingboltM8X30(#3).
5.Ensure
thatallconnectionsaretightened
OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
Seedrawingonpage3forlocationofparts.
TORAISETHELOAD
1.Placejackonahardlevelsurface.
2.Toavoiditemfromslippingduringtheraisingoperation.ALWAYSfirstdeterminethecenteroftheweightload.
3.PlacethejackundertheitemsothattheLift
Saddleispositionedunderthecenteroftheweightload.
4.Pumpthefootpedaluntiltheliftsaddlecomesincontactwiththeloadtobelifted;proceedtolockwheelcasters.
Alwayschecktobesurethatthesaddleandtheloadarepositionedcorrectlybeforeraisingthe
jack.
5.UseFootPedaltoraiseload;BESUREthatSafetyLockissecuredinoneofthreestatedlockpositionsoncedesired
heightisreached.
6.Applytiedownstraps(Seepage5,SecuringtheLoad)onceloadhasbeenraisedtodesiredheight.Thoroughly
tightenstraps.
7.Stabilize
loadedjackonahardsurfacefor maximumbalancebyadjustinglockingscrews.
TOLOWERTHELOAD
1.RaisethejackslightlyandpullbackontheOperationRod,releasingtheSafetyLock.
2.FastentheOperationRodtotheconnectingrodifyouareloweringtheloadcompletely.
3.
PresstheReleaseValveverygentlytolowertheSaddleanditsload.
CAUTION:TieDownStrapswillbecomelooseandloadwillbereleaseduponloweringtheload.
4.Removethetiedownstrapsaftertheloadissecured.
SECURINGTHELOAD1in.x15ft.RatchetTieDownStraps
1.Connectstraphookstoloop(P)andplacestrapoverload.
2.WiththestrapHandle(A)intheclosedposition,takelongstrapendandslipitthroughtheinsertslotinSpindle(B).
Pullstrapbackoverspindle.
3.Tightenthestrapbyratchetingthehandleback
andforthuntiltheloadissecure.Ifn ecessary,takeuptheexcess
slackbyhanduntilthestrapistight.
CAUTION:
Toavoiddamagetotheload,DONOTovertighten.
4. To lock ratchet, ALWAYS leave the handle in the closed position.
RELEASING THE LOAD-1-in. x 15-ft. Ratchet Tie Down Straps
Working limited: 250Lbs
Max load capacity: 800Lbs
1. Hold the ratchet in one hand and with the other hand pull back on Release Latch (C) that is located on
Handle (A).
2. While holding Release Latch (C) back, open Handle (A) fully past the locking gears until Latch (C) locks in a
completely open position or until the load releases.
CAUTION:The load will release at this point.
3. To loosen or remove strap, pull up on ratchet and slide strap out of Spindle (B).
FORTIEDOWNSTRAP
1.DONOTusetiedownstrapfortowingvehiclesortoholdorsuspendhumanweight.
2.DONOTuseextensionbarlever,pliersoranytoolstooperateasahandle.Usehandpoweronly.
3.Protectstrapwebbingfromsharpedges,heatandacid.
Replacestrapwebbingifitiscut,wornordamaged.Inspect
strapwebbing,hooksandhardwarebeforeeachuse.
MAINTENANCE
IMPORTANT:BeforeperforminganymaintenanceofthebottlejackALWAYSdetachfromtheframeand
placeonalevelsurface.AIRPURGINGINSTRUCTIONSWiththeramfullyretract ed,locateandremovethe
oilfillerplug.InsertthefootpedalintothesleeveofHydraulicRam,andthenpump6to8
strokes.Thiswill
helpreleaseanypressurizedairwhichmaybetrappedinthereservoir.Besurethattheoillevelisjust
belowtheoilfillerplughole.Reinstalltheoilfillerplug.Sometimesduringshipmentandhandling,airmay
becometrappedinthehydraulicsystemcausingpooror
nolifting.
OILLEVEL:
IMPORTANT:Whenaddingorreplacingoil,alwaysuseagoodgradeofhydraulicjackoil,transmissionoilor
turbineoilandalwaysavoidmixingdifferenttypesofoil.Neverusebrakefluid,alcohol,glycerine,
detergentmotoroilordirtyoilofanykind.Improperoilusagewillcauseseriousinternaldamage
tojack.
ADDINGOIL:Withramfullyloweredandjackonlevelground,removeoilfillplug.Addoiliflevelismore
than1/4"belowholereplacecoverplate.
REPLACINGOIL:Forbestperformanceandlongestlife,oilshouldbereplacedatleastonceeveryyear.To
drainoil,
removecoverplate,oilfillerplugandreleasevalve.BeVERYCAREFULtonotallowdirtorany
foreignmatterintothesystem.
LUBRICATION:Putgreaseinfittingonbaseandlubricateliftingarmspindlewithoil,every3months.
RUSTPREVENTION:Cleanandwipewithanoilycloth,thepistonramandpumppistonevery3monthsor
whensignsofrustorcorrosionappear.Whennotinuse,alwaysleavethesaddleandpumppistoninthe
completelydownposition.
