Before starting installation, ﬁrst check that all necessary parts are present.

The package should contain the following:

USB Y power cable

CD with drivers and manuals

With this ICIDU Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Cardbus Adapter, you can quickly and easily extend your

notebook with 4 USB 2.0 ports. Connect printers, scanners, input devices or other

USB 2.0-compatible devices to your notebook.

Windows 98SE: First insert the hardware in your notebook, click on “Cancel” in the dialog box and

then install the software via the CD!

H A R D W A R E I N S TA L L AT I O N

Take the following precautions before installing the hardware:

First ensure that the notebook is switched off and disconnected from the power supply.

Remove the protective adapter from the Cardbus port and place the USB 2.0 Cardbus adapter

in the port. After restarting the computer, Windows will automatically detect the new hardware.

Windows will use drivers that are generally already present within Windows.

After installing the drivers, the USB 2.0 Cardbus adapter is ready for use. We advise you to restart

your computer before using the USB 2.0 Cardbus adapter.

Installation of the Y cable

If you intend to connect many devices that consume a considerable amount of electrical power,

please use the attached Y cable. Connect the USB connector to a USB port of the notebook and the

DC plug to the cardbus adapter.

The adapter will therefore have additional electrical supply and it will then be possible to connect

devices with a higher electrical consumption.
