ATTACHING TO TRACTOR
Hydraulic connection
The tractor must be equipped with at least a double
acting and a single acting hydraulic connection.
Connect hydraulic lines at tractor
- Connect hydraulic line to tractor only with closed stop
cock (position A).
Single action Couple the plug with the dust
cap "red" to the single acting control valve.
Double action Couple both plugs with dust cap "blue" to
the double acting control valve.

Initial attaching to tractor
1. Attach the drawbar on tractor tool bar.
Important!
- The tool bar must be mobile (A-B)
- The holes in the tool bar must have a diameter of at
least 30 mm.
- The left and right lifting struts (4) must be the same
length.
2. Secure the plug-in bolts with pins.
3. Fix the hydraulic lower link (5) so that the implement
cannot swivel out to the sides.
4. Swivel up the supporting leg (10) and secure it with
bolts.
5. Set the tractor hydraulic unit at the right height (H).
Pay attention to have a sufficient distance to the cardan
shaft (X), especially if you drive over ground tops!
6. Connect the tractor hydraulic lines.
- Stop cock closed (position A).
- Connect tractor hydraulic line.
7. Lower the implement
- Stop cock open (position E).
- Operate the single acting control valve (ST).
The implement lowers slowly to reach the ground.

Preparations for initial use
Important!
1. Working positions means that the implement is lowered
and the rotor tines slightly touch the ground (A1).
2. The distance (X) between the cardan shaft and the
tool bar in working position must be of at least 120
mm (standard measure). Observe the distance "X"
particularly when driving over ground tops!
3. The position of the rotor tines (A1) should be somewhat
parallel to the ground; less inclination to the front is
permitted.
4. Set the distance (X1) correctly with the help of the
threaded spindle.
For machines with the "MULTITAST (optional)" system,
you must set a drawbar swivel range for good adjustment
of the rotor tines (A1) to the uneven surfaces,
- see also chapter ""MULTITAST SYSTEM"
PTO shaft guarding
- Before initial use, you must check and if necessary
adjust the cardan shaft length (see also chapter "Setting
of cardan shaft" in Annex B .

Setting the threaded spindle
Set distance (X1)
1. Couple the machine to the tractor and bring it in working
position (see above).
2. Swivel the lever (H) upwards (90°).
3. Rotate the threaded spindle accordingly.
For machines without "MULTITAST" system:
Rotate the threaded spindle to the limit
X1 = 190 mm
For machines with "MULTITAST" system:
Rotate the threaded spindle to the reach the distance
X1 = 220 - 240 mm.
4. Swivel down the lever (H) (0°).
- In this position (0°) the threaded spindle is secured
against twisting.

Setting the sequential valve
The sequential valve regulates the logical sequence in which rotors are lifted hydraulically.
You set the sequence by rotating the adjusting screw pos. 8 on the threaded bar pos. 3.
1. Observe the general safety information.
2. Couple machine to tractor.
3. Bring machine in working position.
4. Lift rotor.
Shortly before complete lifting of the first rotor (direction of driving!), the second rotor should be lifted.
5. If the second rotor is lifted too early, correct the setting on the threaded bar.
6. Repeat the procedure until the setting is correct.
Hydraulic hoses and electrical cables
Note: Hydraulic hoses and electrical cables are mounted
overhanging on the machine. The machine can be thus
attached to various tractors.
Roll hydraulic lines and electrical cables together
accordingly and fasten them with cable tie (K).
Hydraulic hoses and electrical cables may
not be damages by the rotating rotors.
There must be sufficient distance to the
rotating parts, also when cornering.
Observe lengths "L1 and L2"!

PARKING THE IMPLEMENT
The implement can be parked in either the working
position or transport position.
- Place the implement aside in secure
position!
- Secure the implement against rolling
away, use wheel chocks!

- Swerve the support foot:
- Unlock the support foot in transport position with the
bolt (2)
- Swivel down the support foot
- Secure support foot with the bolt (2)
- Crank the support foot with winder (1) until it reaches
the secure position
- Pull cardan shaft off and lay on cardan shaft holder.
Important!
Ensure stability
when parked!
Do not use the safety chain to rest the cardan shaft!
- Close shut-off valve (pos. A) and then disconnect
hydraulic lines from tractor for every plug connection.
Should problems occur when uncoupling:
- Position servo (ST) briefly on "Lower" (s).

Doing this will reduce any possible residual pressure
present on the plug connection, then the hydraulic line
can be uncoupled easily.
Parking the implement
Shorten the entire length
- Shorten entire length (80 cm) by swivelling the front
rotor unit in.

Turn manoeuvres on slopes
Take care!
The tractor's driving characteristics are
influenced by the weight (G) of the rotor
unit This can lead to dangerous situations,
especially on slopes.
Danger of tipping occurs
if the rotor units are hydraulically raised
when travelling through curves with raised rotor units.
Safety information
Reduce speed accordingly when travelling
through curves.
It is better to travel in reverse on slopes than
to risk a dangerous turning manoeuvre.
Driving on public roads
Observe the statutory legislation of your country/state.
Drive on public roads only as described in the chapter
"Transport position".
Swivel machine to central position (M)
Close all hydraulic circuits (A)
Protection devices must be in proper condition.
Before travelling bring all swivelling parts into their correct
positions and secure against dangerous changes to
position.
Check that lighting functions before travelling.
Important information can also be found in the
Supplement included in these operating instructions.
Hydraulic lower link
Secure the hydraulic lower link (U) so that implement
cannot swing out sideways.

- Implement is attached to tractor and in the working
position
Adjusting rake height
1. Set rake height using spindle (8) - every rotor unit
individually. Turn spindle (8) anti-clockwise to increase
gap between tines and ground. Turn spindle (8) clockwise
to decrease gap between tines and ground.
- Inside tines should gently touch the ground (approx.
10-20 cm) depending on forage quantity.
- Adapt working height to ground conditions.
- Fodder becomes dirty or turf becomes damaged if
the setting is too low.
- Check the setting frequently during work.
Set the cross slope
(Only with optional tandem chassis)
Rotor chassis should be slightly inclined toward
the swath side to ensure clean raking. The
opposite side to the swath should be approx.
10-15 mm higher.
1. Lower rotor unit using spindle (8) until inside tines touch
the ground.
2. Set outside tines using a straining screw (9) - approx.
10 mm to 15 mm above the ground.
Straining screw factory setting: approx. 230 mm from
centre bolt to centre bolt.

Two single swaths or a side swath
1. Setting for two single swaths.
A second trap sheet (44a) can be used in this operating
position (optional extra).
Swivel rear rotor to right-side operating position (R2).
2. Setting for a side swath.
Only one large swath is deposited on left side of
implement in this operating position. Left rear rotor
accepts swath already formed by front rotor.
Second trap sheet (44a) can be used or removed.
Swivel rear rotor to left-side operating position (L2).
3. Setting for a small side swath.
Only one swath is deposited on left side of implement
in this operating position. Therefore rear rotor has no
essential function.

Important before starting work
1. Switch on p.t.o.
Only switch p.t.o. on when all protective fittings (covers,
protective cloths, claddings, etc.) are in good order and
are affixed to implement in the protection position.
2. Switch machine on only in the working position
and do not exceed given p.t.o. speed (eg. max.
540 U/MIN)!
A transfer, located near the transmission, advises the
p.t.o. speed that your machine is equipped for.
P.t.o. speed
- Max. p.t.o. speed = 540 U/min.
The most favourable p.t.o. speed is approx.

- If tines are pulling fodder from swath back into raked
strip (messy work), then reduce the p.t.o. speed.

- Select a speed that ensures all harvested produce is
cleanly taken.

If overloaded, change back a gear.
- To achieve clean work, rotor should be as horizontal as
possible. A very slight incline forward is allowed.
- Tine height is set using spindle (8). Tines should lightly
touch ground. Fodder becomes dirty or turf becomes
damaged if setting is too low.
Set feeler wheel (optional)
- Tine height is set by appropriately positioning the linch
pin (V). Tines should lightly touch the ground. Fodder
becomes dirty or turf becomes damaged if the setting
is too low.

Swather with "Multitast" system
General
Feeler wheels are fitted to machines with the "Multitast" system The rotor units are not rigidly positioned but can be
swivelled up and down (approx. 4°) via a swivel joint.
Using the feeler wheel enables optimal adaptation to the ground when the surface is extremely uneven.
As the tines are located very close to the feeler wheel, these can also ideally follow the uneven ground. The result is
very clean raking.

fit the spindle for the changeover set (6).
- Set the spindle (6) so that the position of the rotor
tines is as parallel to the ground as possible (A1).
Operating machine without feeler wheel
Particular operating conditions can require the feeler wheel
(2) to be removed.
If working without feeler wheel (2) then the rotor unit
pivoting joint must be fixed. Otherwise the rotor unit
will tip down and dig the tines into the ground.
However ground adaptation with a fixed pivoting joint is no
longer optimal. Therefore this operating mode should be
avoided whenever possible.
7. Correctly set the distance (X1) with the front threaded
spindle
- see chapter "Attaching to tractor"

Hydraulic unit
Caution injury and infection hazard!
Liquids discharging at high pressure may penetrate the
skin. Therefore seek immediate medical help!
Make sure that the hydraulic system is suitable for the
tractor before connecting the hydraulic lines.
After the first 10 hours in operation and thereafter
every 50 hours in operation
- Check hydraulic unit and piping for leaks and if necessary
re-tighten bolt connections.
Prior to every taking into operation
- Check hydraulic hoses for wear.
Replace any worn or damaged hydraulic hoses
immediately. The replacement hoses must meet the
manufacturer’s technical requirements.
Hose lines are subject to natural ageing. The period of use
should not exceed 5 – 6 years.
Parking in the open
Clean and protect the piston rods with
grease prior to longer periods parked
outside.

Cleaning of machine parts
Be advised! Do not use high-pressure washers for the
cleaning of bearing- and hydraulic parts.
- Danger of rust!
- After cleaning, lubricate the implement according to
the lubrication plan and perform a brief test run.
- Cleaning pressure

Safety advice
Switch off engine prior to any adjustment, maintenance
or repair work.
Winter storage
- Clean implement thoroughly prior to winter storage.
- Put up protection against weather.
- Change or top up gear oil.
- Protect exposed parts from rust.
- Lubricate all greasing points according to lubrication chart.
- Disconnect terminal, store dry and protected from frost.

If no particular instructions are available here, then the
information in the instructions supplied by the respective
cardan shaft manufacturer apply.
General maintenance information
Please observe the infiormation below to maintain the
implement in good condition even after a long period in
operation:
- Re-tighten all bolts after the first
hours in operation.
The following should be checked
in particular:

tedder
Spare parts
a. Original parts and accessories are specially designed
for the implements.
b. We expressly point out that we have not tested or
approved any original parts and accessories not supplied
by us.
c. The installation and/or use of such products may under
certain circumstances negatively modify or impair the
propeties of the implement as specified in the design.
Any liability on the part of the manufacturer is excluded
in the event of any damage due to the use of non-original
parts and accessories.
d. Any unauthorised modifications or the use of components
and attachments at the implement rules out any liability
on the part of the manufacturer.

2. Loosen 4x bolts M12x110 (3).

- Pull out tine arm. Turn the rotor unit so that the old
tine arm can be removed from between the intake
and output control (see below).
- Install new tine arm. Turn the rotor unit so that the
new tine arm can be inserted between the intake
and output control (see below).
- Re-tighten bolts M12x110 with 1x nut and 2x Nordlock
washers (see Fig.)
(tightening torque: 160 Nm)

Position the Nordlock washers with the rough milling
inside on top of one another. This means that both
washers have the fine milling outside.
- Secure cover on the new tine arm, insert between the
covers and tighten screw. Tighten all the loosened
bolts (1) for the covers.
- Check the tightness of the bolts and nuts after approx.
50 hours of operation and retighten if necessary.
