Rio S50 Rechargeable Battery
The NiMH battery will lose its capability to charge if it is left
in a discharged state for an extended period of time. Please
recharge the battery immediately when the player prompts
you to do so. The battery can be recharged in an external
battery charger if it will not do so in the player. If you need
to replace the NiMH battery, please visit our e-store at
http://www.sonicblue.com.
Follow These Steps If You Wish To Use The
RealOne Software For WMA Encoding And
Playback
1. From within the RealOne software, select “Check For
Update” on the Tools menu.
2. RealOne will connect to the AutoUpdate System via the
Internet.
3. Click the Devices tab in the left column on the AutoUpdate
window.
4. Select the check box by your Rio player’s model number. A
dialog box displays.
5. Click the “Install” button. The plugin will begin
downloading to your computer. When the download is
complete, a dialog box displays, asking if you wish to
restart your computer.
6. Click the “Yes” button to restart your computer and
complete the installation.

Installation Instructions For Microsoft Windows XP Users
If you are installing the Rio player on Microsoft Windows
XP, you will encounter the following message:
We suggest that you choose the “Continue Anyway” button on this message, to complete
the installation of the Rio player. The reason for this message is that Microsoft requires driver
certification on all Windows XP operating systems. The Rio player has not yet completed the
Windows driver certification process, but has been through extensive testing on Microsoft
operating systems. Please note that SONICblue is in the process of officially certifying the
Rio drivers. Please check online at http://www.sonicblue.com/support for product updates
