This document contains information on changes in firmware Release 2.05.12 that are not documented in the
COMSPHERE 3800Plus Modems Users Guide (3980-A2-GB30-10). The information in this update sheet will be
incorporated into future releases of the Users Guide. In the meantime, keep this document with your Users
Guide.
New Configuration Option in Release 2.05.12
A new configuration option, BfrSizInBfrMode, follows the CellularEnhance configuration option in the
V42/MNP/Buffer group of the Configure branch. See pages 8-31 through 8-36 of the COMSPHERE 3800Plus
Modems Users Guide for information about the V42/MNP/Buffer group.
BfrSizInBfrMode: Normal
End Normal Minimized
Buffer Size In Buffer Mode. This configuration option limits the amount of outbound user data buffered while operating in
Buffer Mode. This can be used to avoid overloading DTEs attached to low-speed modems.
Normal – The modem performs standard buffering of user data.
Minimized – The modem makes minimal use of buffering.
The factory default is Normal.
The AT command equivalent is S-register S33=
