Why is Rain Filter™ “green”?
Rain Filter™ has been independently evaluated and was awarded the Green Buildings Reviewed Product Seal. The seal
was awarded after accredited Green Buildings professionals performed a benchmark analysis that determined the product
meets several criteria that are important aspects of accepted green building principles.
Rain Filter™ helps prevent moisture related damage, foundation problems, and leaks by controlling the ow of water
around and away from the home. It improves control indoor air quality by reducing mold buildup from excess water in or
around the foundation.
It prevents pollution from entering the storm water or ground water areas and prevents damage caused by water getting
into and around the foundation of the home. Rain Filter™ also reduces the need for toxic pesticide treatments.
Does water in the gutter run over during heavy rainfall?
No. Rain Filter™ contains a special coating that makes it non-absorbent, allowing large volumes of water to ow through
freely. It can handle as much water as the gutter is capable of handling.
How does Rain Filter™ perform in freezing weather?
Because Rain Filter™ helps keep the water path open, it is both snow and ice resistant. It helps keep the gutters and
downspouts from clogging so there is not any excess water left inside the gutter to freeze. The dark color also attracts the
solar warmth, helping to enable snow and ice to melt from the roof, pass water through lter, and out of the downspout.
Does Rain Filter™ need to be cleaned?
Rain Filter™ may require some light maintenance. In most cases, leaves and debris slide off the surface or just blow
away. However, in some instances, removal of stubborn debris located in areas where air can not lift away debris may be
necessary. It is recommended that homeowners clear any debris caught on top of the foam lter. If you replace or clean
your roof, you also must protect the gutter area from roof grit or any cleaning chemicals.
Does Rain Filter™ require any maintenance?
Rain Filter™ completely blocks off any openings into the gutter, therefore debris like leaves and pine needles cannot
enter the gutter cavities and cause blockages. However, as you will note in our 25 Year Warranty Policy under “Care and
Maintenance,” and on our website, in certain circumstances, debris may collect where air cannot lift away debris. These
areas must be cleared to keep Rain Filter™ product working properly. We recommend that homeowners clear away any
excess debris in order to obtain optimal results from the Rain Filter™ gutter ltration system.
Will small animals harm the Rain Filter™ ?
No. Rain Filter™ helps eliminate the reasons why small animals are attracted to the gutter area. Rain Filter’s material cannot
be made into nests for birds and squirrels because the material cannot be woven into anything substantial enough to make
a nest out of. Rain Filter™ helps eliminate the buildup of acorns and pinecones in the gutters, so small animals will not
search for food there either. Rodents will not try to chew on Rain Filter™ because the material is not hard enough for them
to le their teeth on.

How does Rain Filter™ help deter pests and insects?
Most disease-spreading insects need standing water to breed in. They will often breed in the free standing water in
unprotected gutters and then use the unprotected gutter as an entry point in to your home.
Rain Filter™ gives rain water a clear path to ow out of your gutter and away from your home, eliminating free standing
water. Rain Filter™ creates a barrier preventing insects from nesting, breeding, and thriving.

How can I install Rain Filter™ around the gutter spikes?
Rain Filter™ slides underneath the gutter spikes.
Do UV rays or heat from sunlight harm the foam?
No. Rain Filter™ contains a UV stabilizer that protects it from degradation from the sun’s rays and heat.
Can strong winds blow Rain Filter™ out of the gutter?
No. Rain Filter™ ts snugly inside the gutter and will not blow out due to strong winds.
Why use Rain Filter™ instead of metal or aluminum gutter guards and covers?
Rain Filter™ is both ice and snow resistant. Cold metal and aluminum covers create large icicles overhead as water freezes
on contact.
Unlike metal or aluminum gutter protectors, Rain Filter™ does not create any noise when it rains and also will not rust,
dent, or crack.
Rain Filter™ is invisible from street-view and will not interfere with the beauty of your home.
