SICK WTV2S-2 V-Optic
The SICK WTV2S-2 V-Optic is a photoelectric proximity sensor with background suppression. It is used for the optical, non-contact detection of objects. The sensor has a sensing range of up to 36 mm and a light spot diameter of 2.5 mm at a distance of 20 mm. The sensor can be used in a variety of applications, including:

> Read the operating instructions before commissioning.
> Connection, mounting, and setting is only to be performed by trained
specialists.
> UL: Only for use in applications in accordance with NFPA 79.
Adapters listed by UL with connection cables are available.

> When commissioning, protect the device from moisture and
contamination.
Correct use
The WTV2S-2 is a photoelectric sensor for the optical, noncontact detec-
tion of objects.
Starting operation
1 The sensing ranges for the WTV2S-2Xxx20 pushbuttons are assigned
permanent settings during production. No further settings need to be
made. Check the application conditions such as size and reectance
capacity of the object as well as background inuences and compare
with the switching distance diagram.
2 WTV2S-2Fxxxx and WTV2S-2Exxxx
D: dark-switching, output (Q) switches o when an object is present
in the sensing range.
WTV2S-2P13xx and WTV2S-2P31xx
WTV2S-2N13xx and WTV2S-2N31xx
L: light-switching. Output (Q) switches on when an object is present
in the sensing range.
WTV2S-2P11xx and WTV2S-2P32xx
ANT: complementary outputs Q and Q.
3 Detection of transparent and reective objects
K = maximum tilt angle
When detecting transparent objects, a distance of > 70 mm to the
background is recommended.
Maintenance
SICK light barriers are maintenance-free.
We recommend doing the following regularly:
- Clean the external lens surfaces.
- Check the screw connections and plug-in connections.
No modications may be made to devices.

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Die optoelektronischen Sensoren WTV2S-2 werden zum optischen,
berührungslosen Erfassen von Objekten eingesetzt.
Inbetriebnahme
1 Die Taster WTV2S-2Xxx20 verfügen über produktionsseitig fest
eingestellte Tastweiten. Es ist keine Einstellung erforderlich.
Einsatzbedingungen wie Größe und Remissionsvermögen des
Objektes sowie Hintergrundeinüsse überprüfen und mit dem
Schaltabstandsdiagramm vergleichen.
2 WTV2S-2Fxxxx und WTV2S-2Exxxx
D: dunkelschaltend, Ausgang () schaltet aus, wenn sich ein Objekt
im Tastbereich bendet.
WTV2S-2P13xx und WTV2S-2P31xx
WTV2S-2N13xx und WTV2S-2N31xx
L: hellschaltend. Ausgang () schaltet ein, wenn sich ein Objekt
im Tastbereich bendet.
WTV2S-2P11xx und WTV2S-2P32xx
ANT: Antivalente Ausgänge und Q
3 Erkennung transparenter und spiegelnder Objekte
K = maximaler Kippwinkel
Bei der Erkennung transparenter Objekte wird ein Abstand zum
Hintergrund von > 70 mm empfohlen.
Wartung
SICK-Lichtschranken sind wartungsfrei.
Wir empfehlen, in regelmäßigen Abständen:
– die optischen Grenzächen zu reinigen.
– Verschraubungen und Steckverbindungen zu überprüfen.
Veränderungen an Geräten dürfen nicht vorgenommen werden.
