GENERAL INFORMATION
Before installing and/or using this hood, please read the instructions carefully and
thoroughly.
Before you install the hood, make sure the voltage (V) and frequency (Hz) indicated on the
serial and technical data plate located inside the appliance correspond with the voltage
and frequency available in the place of installation.
After having removed the packaging, check that the appliance is intact. If in doubt, do not use the
appliance and contact professionally qualified personnel.
All installation and adjustment operations should be carried out by a qualified technician in
accordance with the regulations in force. Specific indications are given in the section intended
for the installer.
Clean the hood according to the manufacturer's instructions, especially for the deposits formed
on the dirty surfaces to avoid any risks of fire.
Ensure the burners are always covered so as not to cause the hood filter to overheat.
When frying food, never leave the pan unattended: the oil inside the pan could overheat and
catch fire. If the pan contains oil which has already been used to fry, the risk of spontaneous
ignition is even greater.
It is strictly forbidden to flambé food beneath the cooker hood.
The air collected should not be conveyed in a duct used for the discharge of exhaust fumes from
appliances that run on energy sources other than electricity.
Suitable ventilation of the room must be provided when the hood and appliances that run on
energy sources other than electricity are used at the same time.
If the hood is used in the outdoor venting mode, check the condition of the exhaust duct should
the latter have been left unused for an extended period of time.
Remember to pay attention to the local norms in force and to the regulations from the competent
authorities on the subject of air exhaust when the hood is operating in the outdoor venting mode.
All advice given on this matter must be followed scrupulously in order to avoid possible fires.
FAILURE TO OBSERVE THE ABOVE-MENTIONED INDICATIONS AS TO THE INSTALLATION,
MAINTENANCE AND SUITTABLE USE OF THE HOOD RELIEVES THE MANUFACTURER
OF ALL LIABILITY.
INSTALLATION
The accessories required for the installation of the hood can be found inside the latter.
The hood is convertible and can therefore be installed in either the OUTDOOR VENTING or
the AIR RECIRCULATION mode. If the hood is used in the OUTDOOR VENTING mode,
connect opening N (125/150 mm diameter) (fig. 1) to an exhaust duct connected directly to
the outside and which is 150 cm
2
minimum in cross-section. The lowest part of the hood
should be at least 70 cm from the hob.
IN NO CASE WHATSOEVER SHOULD THE HOOD BE CONNECTED TO EXHAUST
DUCTS FROM OTHER APPLIANCES THAT RUN ON ENERGY SOURCES OTHER THAN
ELECTRICITY (water heaters - boilers - stoves - etc.). The appliance must not be placed
above stoves with a top radiant plate.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
There are three main types of supports for anchoring a hood to a wall. As a rule, each hood
has two main anchoring points: both at the back, one on the right-hand side and one on the
left.
1ST TYPE OF SUPPORT
This support is assembled onto the hood and allows for the adjustment of the same both
vertically (screw L) and horizontally (screw F). For the installation, L-shaped hooks must be
fastened to the wall (see detail E in figure 2).
2ND TYPE OF SUPPORT
This type of support, too, is already assembled on the appliance and allows for the adjustment
of the same vertically only, by turning the screw situated on the high part of the hood (See
“2

type of support, L-shaped hooks must be
fastened to the wall for installation.

3RD TYPE OF SUPPORT
This type of support is supplied with the hood (generally in two pieces) and should be fastened to the
wall by means of two rawlplugs.
In this case, some slots have been made on the back of the hood onto which these supports should be
hooked (see figure 3).
To adjust the position of the hood, the support fixing screws should be loosened and the height of the
same should be adjusted. The aforementioned three types of support are nevertheless not sufficient to
guarantee that the hood is firmly anchored; it could in fact become dislodged and fall to the ground.
To avoid this danger, one of the two following solutions can be applied to the hood:
· ANTI-TIPPING BRACKET - This type of accessory (two pieces are generally provided) should
be assembled onto the top part of the appliance and then fastened to the wall as illustrated in detail
"D" of figure 2. Slots "B" on the bracket allow for the partial adjustment of the inclination of the hood.
· ANTI-TIPPING SCREW - This anti-tipping device foresees that the hood is fastened directly to the
wall by means of one or more screws provided, using the holes on the back panel of the hood (see
point "P" in figure 3).
ASSEMBLY OPERATIONS
· locate the position of the holes to drill on the wall for fastening screws and hooks: then remove the
grease filters, bring the hood close to the wall and place it in the desired position; mark the exact
points on the wall where the holes must be drilled;
· remove the hood and follow the instructions given above to anchor the same to the wall according
to the type of support;
· hook the hood on;
· now proceed with the anti-tipping fastening using the special brackets or screws.
MOTOR CONNECTION
There are two types of motor connections that differ from one another mainly in the diameter of the
steam and odour outlet:
- 120 mm diameter;
- 150 mm diameter;
If the motor connection (N - fig. 1) does not come already fitted by the manufacturer, it should be
fastened to the top of the hood using the screws provided. Then connect it to the steam and odour
exhaust duct by means of a pipe of a suitable diameter.
CHIMNEY DUCT ASSEMBLY
Take the two chimney ducts “A” and “B” and rest the lower part of duct “A” on the top of the hood.
Fasten duct “A” to the hood using screws “K” provided inside the accessory bag (fig. 4). Raise the
mobile part “B” until it reaches the ceiling, making sure it is perpendicular to the hood and fasten it with
the screws “M” provided (fig. 5).
OPERATING MODES
OUTDOOR VENTING
After fastening the "motor connection" as illustrated in the relative paragraph, connect the same to the
steam and odour exhaust duct by means of a pipe of a suitable diameter and a minimum cross-section
of 150 cm
2
. If this exhaust duct is not available and the hood needs to be installed on one of the
building's external walls, make a hole in the wall large enough to fasten a rain- and wind-proof grille to
it, with a minimum cross-section of 150 cm
2
and connect it to the "motor connection" with a pipe.
AIR RECIRCULATION
The hood can be operated in air recirculation mode if it is not possible to connect an exhaust duct to the
outside. In this case, the air is recirculated by opening "R" (fig. 1). For the operation of the hood in air
recirculation mode, two activated carbon filters must be used to absorb all cooking odours. The assembly
instructions are given in the "Carbon Filter Replacement" paragraph.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
This hood is intended for a fixed permanent installation. For the mains voltage and frequency information,
consult the serial number plate situated inside the appliance. The power supply cable (type H05VV-F
3x0.75 mm
2
) connected to the hood's terminals marked "L" (mains), "N" (neutral) and fastened by
means of the cable clamp must be connected to a suitable and accessible fixed power point by specialised
and authorised personnel, who are to install the hood in compliance with the norms and laws in force,
providing for an omnipolar switch above the electrical connection with a minimum contact opening of 3
mm. The manufacturer will not be held responsible should all the accident-prevention norms in force and
necessary for the normal and regular operation of the electrical system fail to be observed.
OPERATION
To start the hood (after following all the instructions described in the previous paragraphs for the installation
and having taken all the safety precautions), check which type of controls - among the three types
indicated below - your hood is provided with and then follow the relevant directions given.

ATTENTION:
EVERY 30 HOURS OF USE THE MICROPROCESSOR, WHICH IS THE HEART OF THE SYSTEM, INDICATES WITH A FLASHING
“A” ON THE DISPLAY THAT THE METAL GREASE FILTERS SHOULD BE CLEANED TO CONSENT THE EXHAUST TO FUNCTION

AND IMPROVE HYGIENE IN THE ROOM. TO CANCEL THE WARNING MESSAGE AFTER CLEANING THE FILTERS, SWITCH

APPEARS ON THE DISPLAY; AFTER 5 SECONDS THIS DISAPPEARS AND THE MICROPROCESSOR STARTS A NEW 30-HOUR

-DOWN BEFORE DISPLAYING THE NEXT WARNING MESSAGE.
DESCRIPTION OF REMOTE CONTROL FEATURES

- motor on-off. Press the button to turn the motor on or off. The hood runs on the
third speed setting automatically upon starting.
MAINTENANCE
Always make sure you carry out all operations with the omnipolar switch off, in position O.
A) CLEANING
Clean the external parts of the hood using a soft cloth and neutral detergent; and avoid using abrasive
powders or brushes. For dirt which is difficult to remove, you may use methylated spirit. Clean the steel
parts by rubbing in the direction of the surface finish.
B) CLEANING THE METAL GREASE FILTER
Excess grease particles in the metal filter could cause an increase in the inflammability of the same; in
order to avoid possible fires, the metal grease filter should be washed according to how frequently it is
used (in any case every 30 days) in a dishwasher or in lukewarm water using normal washing up liquid.
After rinsing it and drying it thoroughly, replace the metal grease filter in its special housing.

C) LAMP REPLACEMENT
The hood can be provided with different types of lamps: incandescent, halogen and neon lamps.
· Incandescent lamps (fig. 6): lamps with E14 cap, 25W power and 230V voltage, generally olive-
shaped. To replace them, remove the grease filters or dismount the clear protection, screw off
the faulty lamp and screw on the new one, then reassemble the filters.
· Halogen lamps (fig. 7 and fig. 8): figure 7 illustrates the type of lamp with an E14 cap, 50W power
and 230V voltage; to replace it, follow the same instructions given for replacing an incandescent
lamp. Figure 8 illustrates the type of lamp with a G4 cap, 20W power and 12V voltage; to replace
it, use a screwdriver to remove the glass support ring “A” (fig. 9), then remove the protection
glass “B”; pull out the faulty lamp and replace it with a new one; then reassemble the protection
glass, fastening it with the corresponding ring.
· Neon lamps (fig. 10): neon lamps can come with a “mignon” G5 cap (8W or 13W power and
288mm or 516mm long) or a “normal” G13 cap (15W or 23W power and 437mm or 970mm
long). To replace a neon lamp, remove the grease filers or dismount the clear protection, detach
the neon, rotating it by 90 degrees and pull it out of its housing; fit the new neon light in and carry
out the previous operation sin the opposite direction to reassemble the various parts.
D) STARTER REPLACEMENT
For all types of neon lamps, use a 220-240V / 4-80W Starter (fig. 11).
E) CARBON FILTER REPLACEMENT
For your hood to operate at its best, the activated carbon filters must be replaced on a regular
basis, at least once every three months. To buy these, contact an Authorised Service Centre or
the Retailer where you purchased it. Before you begin to insert the carbon filter, put the omnipolar
switch on the O position (OFF). Press the metal grease filter handle in towards the back of the
hood (fig. 12 for the “spring-operated” version and fig. 13 for the “button-operated” version)
until it is released from the front housing, then remove it by pulling it downwards (fig. 14). Remove
the soiled activated carbon filters “O“ by turning them clockwise and then removing them from
the guide pegs on the outdoor venting assembly.
Fit the new filters on, making sure the holes located on the same fit well around the special
reference pegs of the outdoor venting assembly (fig. 15) and turn them anti-clockwise until you
hear them click (opposite action to the one for dismounting).
THE GUARANTEE
The appliance should reach the purchaser provided with not only this instruction booklet but also the
GUARANTEE CERTIFICATE. Should the latter be missing, then DEMAND IT.
For the guarantee to be effective, the purchaser should ask the retailer to validate the guarantee
certificate by stamping it and dating it with the date of purchase in the space provided.
THE GUARANTEE CERTIFICATE NEED NOT BE POSTED FOR VALIDATION.
Should this procedure fail to be observed, the technical staff shall be forced to CHARGE the purchaser
for any repairs.
For any malfunctions during the operation of the hood, the purchaser can contact the Retailer where
the appliance was bought or his/her nearest Authorised Service Centre.

F) SPECIAL FUNCTIONS (for cooker hoods with touch control panel):
The electronic controls fitted to your hood are provided with advanced functions to facilitate
maintenence and improved use of the product.
Message indicating that the carbon filters require replacing (if fitted):
If the hood purchased is used in the filter version, with carbon filters to purify exhaust fumes, the
microprocessor of the elettronic system must first be informed that it is managing an instrument in
filter mode. To do this, switch off the hood, press and hold key n° 4 for more than 5 seconds. When
the key is pressed - appears on the display (indicating that the hood is not using the carbon filter).
After 5 seconds this becomes a C (indicating that the hood is using the carbon filters). From now
on every 120 hours of use the microprocessor indicates that the carbon filters should be replaced
with a flashing C on the display, this consents the exhaust to function better and improves hygiene
in the room. To cancel the warning message after replacing the carbon filter, switch off the hood
switched, press and hold key n°3 for more than 5 seconds, when the key is pressed the letter C
appears on the display and after 5 seconds this disappears and the microprocessor starts a new
120-hour count-down before displaying the next warning message.
