… for purchasing a Tower Pressure Cooker. We hope you have years
of trouble free cooking with your new purchase.
There are many benefits of using a pressure cooker:
• Foods retain most of their nutrients and are tastier
Save energy – no need for multiple pots and pans
on separate burners
Save time in preparing meals – cook up to 70%
faster when a pressure cooker is used, making it
a handy tool to quickly get the meal on the table.
Less washing is required with ‘one pot’ cooking
and a pressure cooker lid prevents any splashes,
splatters or boil overs.
Prepare a variety of meals, side dishes
and desserts including:
• Soups & Paté
• Steamed vegetables
• Stews and casseroles
• Pasta dishes
• Beans, rice and pulses
• Steamed puddings
PRODUCT SAFETY IMPORTANT
To reduce the risk of personal injury or property
damage, basic safety precautions should always
be followed, including the following:
Read all instructions carefully, as improper use
may result in bodily injury or property damage.
Always check the regulator before use. Hold
the cover up to the light and look through the
regulator to be certain it is clear.
Extreme caution must be used when moving a
pressure cooker containing hot liquids. Do not
touch the hot surface, only touch the handles.
This appliance cooks under pressure. Improper
use may result in scalding. Make certain that
the pressure cooker is properly closed before
operating and the cover handle must be directly
above the body handle.
Do not open the cooker until the internal pressure
has been completely reduced, the pressure
indicating valve has been released, also check
that no steam is escaping when the pressure
limiting valve is removed.
Do not heat a dry pressure cooker.
Do not fill the pressure cooker over 2/3 full.
Except when making soup, cooking rice and
dried vegetables which expand during cooking,
do not fill the cooker over 1/4 way.
Do not pressure cook foods such as apple sauce,
cranberries, rhubarb, pearl barley, oatmeal,
other cereal, split peas, soup mixes containing
dried vegetables, noodles, macaroni or spaghetti.
These foods tend to foam, froth and splutter
and may block the regulator.
When cooking liquid foods such as soup
or porridge, shake the cooker slightly before
opening to release any air bubbles and avoid
them bursting once the lid is open.
Do not place or attempt to pressure cook
in a heated oven.
Caution: To ensure safe operation and
satisfactory performance, replace the sealing ring
if it becomes hard or deformed.
Close supervision is necessary when the
pressure cooker is used near children.
Do not let children use the pressure cooker.
Do not use the pressure cooker for anything
other than its original intended use.
Never use this pressure cooker with oil.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The following safety precautions are recommended
by most reputable appliance manufacturers. Only
when adhering to the rules strictly, can the full
advantages of the pressure cooker be achieved.
1. This pressure cooker is designed for use in
household environments only and is not suitable
for commercial use. It should never be used by
children or those unfamiliar with the pressure
cooking process.
2. Under the pressure limit, the temperature of the
boiling water is 120°C. Steam will be produced
when the pressure is reducing.
3. Do not pressure cook foods such as apple
sauce, cranberries, rhubarb, pearl barley,
oatmeal, other cereal, split peas, soup mixes
containing dried vegetables, noodles, macaroni
or spaghetti. These foods tend to foam, froth
and splutter and may block the regulator.
4. Keep the pressure-limiting valve, sealing ring,
opening button, lid and cooker body clean at
all times.
5. The pressure cooker should be used on a hob
with a diameter similar or smaller than the base
of the pressure cooker. Do not allow flames to
reach the sides of the pressure cooker (Fig. 1).
6. Do not point the steam-releasng valve in a
direction that may be occupied by a person.
7. If steam sprays from the safety valve, you must
shut off the power immediately. The problem
must be rectified before you can use the
pressure cooker again (see page 6).
8. Handle with care, especially when the cooker
is under pressure. Keep the pressure cooker
horizontal and place it down gently. Do not
bump the pressure cooker.
9. Do not open the lid when the cooker is under
pressure.
10. Ensure the lid is tightly closed before use.
11. Do not store ingredients such as salt, soy sauce,
sugar, vinegar or water in the pressure cooker.
12. Clean the cooker after use.
13. Do not dry-heat the pressure cooker.
14. Do not use the pressure cooker for frying or
baking food.
15. Do not fill the cooker over 2/3 of the capacity
(Fig. 2).When making soup, cooking rice, and
dried vegetables which expand during cooking,
do not fill the cooker over 1/4 capacity (Fig. 3).
Never place anything over the pressure-limiting
valve (Fig. 4)

SAFETY FEATURES
This product is equipped with four safety features
shown below. Please familiarise yourself with them
for your safety (Fig. 6).
1. Pressure-limiting Valve
The pressure-limiting valve can be turned to one
of four positions to select the required function
(Fig. 7). Select the high pressure step or low
pressure setting according to your cooking
requirements.
2. Safety Open-preventing Valve
This will raise when the pressure reaches 4Kpa.
Beware of the steam escaping as this can scald.
3. Steam Releasing Valve
When the pressure-limiting valve and the safety
valve are not working, the steam will release
through the steam releasing valve.
4. Opening Button
The lid must only be opened by pushing the
button on the lid. Do not force the lid open.
HOW TO USE THE PRESSURE COOKER
1. Please clean the pressure cooker before first
use by adding water and heat for 30 minutes.
2. Make sure that the hole of both the safety valve
and the steam-releasing pipe is clear.
3. To close the lid, align the ‘O’ marked on the lid
to the ‘O’ marked on the lower handle by turning
the lid clockwise.
4. To adjust the level of pressure, turn the pressure-
limiting valve to ‘I’ for low pressure and ‘II’ for
high pressure (Fig. 5).
5. To raise the temperature quickly, place the
cooker on a high heat until the safety open-
preventing valve begins to work. It is normal for
a small amount of steam to seep from the safety
open-preventing valve when the pressure cooker
is in use.
6. After a while the pressure-limiting valve will
raise and steam will continuously escape with
a ‘squeak’ sound. Reduce the level of heat and
allow the pressure cooker to continue cooking for
the required time.
Cooking time should be calculated from the
moment the pressure-limiting valve rises.
7. After cooking, there are two ways in which the
pressure cooker can be opened:
a) Natural Cooling – leave the cooker to cool
down naturally and wait for the safety open-
preventing valve to fall down.
b) Water Cooling – To cool the cooker down
quickly, place on a level place under cold running
water until the safety open-preventing valve falls
down. Caution: Take care not to allow water to
flow in to the cooker through the safety open-
preventing valve an the pressure limiting valve.

every one or two years depending on how
much you have used your pressure cooker.
MAINTAINING THE SAFETY VALVES
Always check that the Pressure Limiting Valve and
the Safety Open-preventing Valve is clear. If either
is blocked, clear away the blockage with a needle,
then rinse the parts under clean water.
Removing the Pressure Limiting Valve:
Switch the pressure limiting valve to the position
marked “ ” to allow it to be taken out of the
handle. Dismantle the valve as shown in Fig. 9.
Fig. 8
Clean the parts, then re-assemble in the opposite
order.
The valve should only be switched to the “ ”
position when it needs to removed.
Removing the Safety Open-Preventing Valve:
The safety open-preventing valve is located on the
underside of the lid. Use a spanner to remove it
from the lid before dismantling it. To clean the valve,
rinse under clean water (Fig. 10).
