CHANNEL SWIVEL WHEEL KIT

Check the contents of your kit for the parts listed below
(Figure 1):
* Part of Left Mount. ** Part of Left and Right Mount.
INSTALLATION
Remove fixed wheels
1. Remove entire front axle assembly from mower
pan.
2. Remove wheels from axle assembly and set aside
for step 3 below. Keep all hardware to replace fixed
wheels on mower.
Install swivel wheels (Figure 1)
1. Install left mount (item 1) and right mount (item 15)
on mower pan with six 5/16" x 1/2" round head
square neck bolts (item 16) and 5/16" locknuts
(item 11).

FAILURE TO FOLLOW
INSTRUCTIONS could result in personal
injury and/or damage to unit.

practices in Owner/Operator Manual before
beginning.

CAUTION:
ALWAYS stop engine, remove
spark plug wire, allow all parts to cool, and
secure unit to a flat, level work area before
installing swivel wheel kit.

2. Install left outer yoke (item 12) on left mount (item 1)
and right outer yoke (item 14) on right mount
(item 15) with two 9/32" x 1" flat washers (item 4),
1/4" lock washers (item 2), and 1/4" x 3/4" hex bolts
(item 3).
3. Install wheels on inner yokes (item 8) with two wheel
spacers (item 9), flange bushings (item 10),
5/16" x 2-3/4" round head square neck bolts
(item 7), and 5/16" locknuts (item 11).
4. Slide inner yoke (item 8) into left outer yoke (item 12)
and secure with height adjustment pin (item 6), and
bow tie locking cotter pin (item 13).
5. Slide inner yoke (item 8) into right outer yoke
(item 14) and secure with height adjustment pin
(item 6), and bow tie locking cotter pin (item 13).
6. Apply Stens Mix Hi-Temp Grease (p/n 00036800)
or equivalent to two lube fittings (item 5).
OPERATION
Cutting Height
To change front wheel cutting height, insert height
adjustment pin into the holes that match the desired
cutting height and fasten with bow tie locking cotter pin
(Figure 2).
To change rear wheel cutting height, move cutting height
levers one notch at a time to set the desired cutting
height.
NOTE:
Set all wheels to the same cutting height for an
even cut.
Swivel Lockout
Locking the front wheel makes it easier to mow straight
lines (Figure 3).
To Lock:
Turn the lockout pin to release roll pin from the
retainer slot. Push the mower forward until wheel
locks into place.
To Unlock:
Pull back on lockout pin and turn it sideways so roll
pin locks into retainer slot.
Lubrication
Apply grease to the lube fittings every 25 hours of
operation.
Use Stens Mix Hi-Temp Grease or equivalent on the lube
fittings. Order P/N: 00036800 - 3 pack of 3 oz. cartridges.
DANGER:
Avoid injury from rotating blade.
ALWAYS shut off engine before adjusting
cutting height or swivel wheel.
CAUTION:
When mowing on slopes it is
recommended that swivel wheels be locked. If
wheels are unlocked and control handles are
released, the mower may "free roll" downhill.
Never mow on steep slopes.
