The NHTSA’S Toll-free Auto Safety Hotline
If you believe that your vehicle has a defect which could cause a crash or could cause
injury or death, you should immediately inform the National Highway Trafc Safety
Administration (NHTSA) in addition to notifying
Ferrari S.p.A.
If NHTSA receives similar complaints, it may open an investigation, and if it nds that
a safety defect exists in a group of vehicles, it may order a recall and remedy campaign.
However, NHTSA cannot become involved in individual problems between you, your
dealer, or Ferrari S.p.A.
To contact NHTSA, you may either call the Auto Safety Hotline toll-free at 1-800-424-
9393 (or 1-703-366-0123 in Washington, D.C. area) or write to: NHTSA, U.S. Department
of Transportation, Washington, D.C. 20590. You can also obtain other information about
motor vehicle safety calling the Hotline.
Fuels Containing Alcohol
For its fuel injection systems, Ferrari uses components and materials designed for
longevity and reliability. However, no specic tests have been carried out to assure the
reliability of the system when using fuel containing alcohol. Consequently, we suggest that
our customers do not use fuel containing alcohol on Ferrari vehicles.

Introduction
This Owner’s Manual is designed to help
ensure you get the best value from your
vehicle and to provide information on
routine maintenance.
We advise you to read it carefully before
driving. The Owner’s Manual is an integral
part of the vehicle and it must therefore
always be kept on board.
This manual refers to vehicles with two
types of transmission:
F1 electronically-controlled gearbox
mechanical gearbox
Therefore some information may vary
depending on the gearbox installed.
Consulting the manual
To facilitate reading and fast consultation,
the topics have been divided into sections
and chapters. The important parts requiring
particular attention are easily identiable in
the sections and chapters.
Extreme caution required: failure
to comply with the instructions
could cause hazardous situations involving
personal and vehicle safety!
Important note: warning aimed at
preventing any damage to the vehicle and
thus hazards involving the safety of persons.
Service
The information contained in this manual is
limited to those instructions and indications
that are strictly required for the use and
good preservation of the vehicle.
Carefully following the instructions
contained herein will help you get the best
results and satisfaction from your vehicle.
We also recommend you have all the checks
and service carried out at an Authorized
Ferrari Dealer, as they have the skilled
staff and appropriate equipment available.
See the “Sales and Service Organization”
manual for the locations of Authorized
Ferrari Dealers.
The Authorized Ferrari Dealers are at
your complete disposal for any information
and suggestions.

Spare parts
When replacing parts or topping up
lubricants and uids, we recommend you
use original spare parts, lubricants and
uids recommended by Ferrari.
The Ferrari warranty may be voided if
Original Ferrari Spare Parts are not
used for repairs.
Chassis
The chassis of this vehicle is entirely
constructed of aluminum.
If the chassis is damaged in an accident, have
it repaired by an Authorized Ferrari
Dealer only.
Using non-original spare parts and having
inexperienced personnel perform repairs
may have serious consequences for the
vehicle.
In normal conditions of use, the chassis
does not require any maintenance; it
is however advisable to contact your
Authorized Ferrari Dealer at the
intervals shown in the Maintenance
Schedule in order to have it checked.
Should emergency repairs be
required, it is advisable to have the
vehicle checked by an Authorized Ferrari
Dealer as soon as possible.
F1 gearbox
Warning: The vehicle may be tted
with an electro-hydraulically-
controlled gearbox system, controlled by
means of levers on the steering wheel.
Even though the system can be used
in Automatic” mode, it should not
be considered an automatic gearbox.
Therefore, for proper use, always follow the
instructions given in this manual on page

Uniform tire quality grading
All passenger car tires must conform to
Federal Safety requirements in addition to
these grades.
Treadwear
The treadwear grade is a comparative rating
based on the wear rate of the tire when
tested under controlled conditions on a
specied government test course.
For example, a tire graded 150 would wear
one and one-half (1-1/2) times as well on
the government course as a tire graded 100.
The relative performance of tires depends
upon the actual conditions of their use
and may differ signicantly from the
norm due to variations in driving habits,
service practices and differences in road
characteristics and climate.
Traction
The traction grades, from highest to lowest,
are AA, A “, B, and C “. Those grades
represent the tire’s ability to stop on wet
pavement as measured under controlled
conditions on specied government
test surfaces of asphalt and concrete.
Tires marked C have poor traction
- performance.
The traction grade assigned to
this tire is based on straight-ahead
braking traction tests, and does not include
acceleration, cornering, hydroplaning, or
peak traction characteristics.
Temperature
The temperature grades are A (the
highest), B, and C “, representing the
tire’s resistance to the generation of heat
and its ability to dissipate heat when
tested under controlled conditions on a
specied indoor laboratory test wheel.
Sustained high temperature can cause
the material of the tire to degenerate and
reduce tire life, and excessive temperature
can lead to sudden tire failure. The grade
C corresponds to a level of performance
which all passenger car tires must meet
under the Federal Motor Safety Standard
No. 109. Grades Band A represent
higher levels of performance on the
laboratory test wheel than the minimum
required by law.
The temperature grade for this tire is
established for a tire that is properly
inated and not overloaded. Excessive
speed, under ination, or excessive loading,
either separately or in combination, can
cause heat buildup and possible tire failure.
18
“Run at” tires (optional)
The vehicle can be tted with “Run Flat”
tires. This type of tire has reinforced
sidewalls which permit the vehicle to
continue traveling at a moderate speed
(50 mph - 80 km/h) for a set distance, even
in the event of a puncture.
Always comply with the speci ed wheel
alignment values, as this is essential to obtain
the best performance from and the longest life
of your tires.
Further information on these tires and the
relevant pressure monitoring system can be
found in the “Carrozzeria Scaglietti” Owner’s
Manual.
