OceNET Soware Suite

Before you begin:

ThisdocumentdescribeshowtosetupyourRimage2000i.Itisintended

forpeoplewhoarefamiliarwithhardwaresetup,sowareinstallaon,and

Windowsoperangsystems.Ifyoudonotunderstandtheproceduresinthis

document,askyourcomputertechnicianforhelp.

Documentsreferencedinthisprocedureshippedwithyourproductandare

alsoavailableonlineatwww.rimage.com/support. From the Supportmenu

select: Desktop Series > Rimage 2000i > User Manualstab.

Important!

• Readallsetupinstruconsthoroughlybeforeyoubegin.

• Saveallpackingboxesandpackingmaterials.

• Refer to the Rimage 2000i Specicaons documentforminimumPC

requirements.

• Donotpluginanycablesunlyouareinstructedtodoso.

Notes:

• Yourproductmaynotlookexactlyliketheproductpictured.

• YoumusthaveadministraveprivilegestoinstalltheOceNETSoware

SuiteonyourPC.

• Unlessotherwiseindicated,allWindowsnavigaonstatementsare

MicrosoWindowsXPpaths.Otheroperangsystems’navigaonpaths

maydierslightly.

Uninstall the Rimage 2000i Soware

Important!IfyouhavetheRimage2000iSowareinstalledonyour

PC,youmustuninstallitbeforeyouinstalltheOceNETSoware

Suite.UsetheprocedurebelowtouninstalltheRimage2000i

Soware.IfyoudonothaveRimage2000iorOceNETsoware

installedonyourPC,proceedtostep3.

a. InWindowsselect:Start > Control Panel.TheControl Panel

windowopens.

b. Select Add or Remove Programs.TheAdd or Remove Programs

windowopens.

c. Select Rimage 2000i Soware from the Currently installed

programslist.

d. Select Remove.

Note: ARimage2000iSowaremessagedisplaysaskingifyou

wanttocompletelyremovetheselectedapplicaonandallofits

features.SelectYes.TheRimage2000iSowareisuninstalledfrom

yourPC.

e. WhentheUninstall Completedialogdisplays,selectYes, I want to

restart my computer now.

Note: MakesuretoremoveanydiscsfromthePCdiscdrivebefore

restarngthePC.

f. Select Finish.ThePCrestarts.

g. WhenthePChasrestarted,deletethefollowingfolders:C:\

Rimage andC:\Program Files\Rimage.

Important! Beforeyoudeletethesefolders,makesurethatthey

donotcontainanypersonalles.

Install the OceNET Soware Suite

Important! Youmusthaveadministraveprivilegestoinstallthe

OceNETSowareSuiteonyourPC.

a. InserttheOceNET Soware Suite discintothePCdiscdrive.

The Choose Setup Languagedialogboxopens.(Thedefaultis

English.)

2000i,installthe bin

assembly.

b. Onthebinassembly,

ipthediverter tray

from the right to the

Set up the Rimage 2000i

b. Select OK.TheOceNET Soware Suitewindowopens.

Note: IftheOceNET Soware Suitedoesnotopen

automacally,selectRunfromtheWindowsStartmenuand

browsetoselecttheSetup.exe leonthesowaredisc.

c. Accept the Rimage End User License Agreement.

d. Followtheon-screen promptstocompletetheOceNET

SowareSuiteinstallaon.

• InWindows Vista and Windows 7 security message that

Windowscan’tverifythepublisherofthedriversoware

maydisplay.SelectInstall this driver soware anyway to

connue.

• InWindows XP Professional,awarningmessagethatthe

sowarehasnotpassedWindowsLogoTesngmaydisplay.

Select Connue Anyway.

e. WhentheHardware Setup for Printers dialogdisplays,connect

the power cord fromtheRimage2000itoapoweroutlet.

f. Press the power switch topowerontheRimage2000i.

g. Connuetostep 4toinstalltheRimage2000iprinterdriver.

Install the ink cartridges

a. Litheaccess door.Theinkcartridge

cradlesmovefromtheletotheright

sideoftheprinter.

b. Whentheinkcartridgecradlesaresll,

libothcartridge latches.

c. Slide the matching ink cartridgesinto

thecradlesasshown.

d. Close each cartridge latch.

e. Close the access door.Theprinter

inializes.

Acvate your OceNET Soware Suite

(for soware versions 8.1 and lower only)

IfyouareinstallingOceNETSowareSuiteversion8.1orlower,

youhave30daystoacvatethesoware.Unlyouacvate

thesoware,youwillbepromptedtodosoeachmeyouuse

QuickDisc.Whentheacvaondialogboxdisplays:

a. Selectanacvaon opon.

b. Followtheonscreen promptstoacvateyourOceNET

SowareSuite.

Note: AcvaonisonlyrequiredifyouareinstallingRimage

OceNETSowareSuiteversion8.1orlower.Productregistraon

forsystemsusingversion8.2orhigherisnowmanagedthroughthe

Rimagewebsiteatwww.rimage.com/support/warranty-registraon.

a. CompleteallofthestepslistedintheHardware Setup for

Printersdialog.

Important! Stepnumber1intheHardware Setup for Printers

dialoginstructsyoutoconnecttheUSB2.0cablefromyour

Rimage2000itoyourPC.ConnecttheUSB 2.0 cableatthisme.

Note: Foropmumperformance,connecttheRimage2000iUSB

2.0cabletoaUSBportonyourmotherboard(asshown)rather

thanaUSBcardport.

• InWindows Vista and Windows 7,amessagethatthedevice

driversowarewasnotsuccessfullyinstalledmaydisplay.

Connuewiththeinstallaoninstruconsanyway.Thedriver

sowareisinstalledaerthesystemrestartsinstepd.

• InWindows XP Professional,theFound New Hardware

Wizardmaydisplay.

i. IftheFound New Hardware Wizardasksifyouwantto

connecttotheInternet,selectNo, not this me.

ii. Select the install automacallyopon.

Note:Awarningmessagethattheprinterhasnotpassed

theWindowsLogoTesngmaydisplay.SelectConnue

Anyway.

iii. Followtheremainingon-screen promptsintheFound

New Hardware Wizardtocompletetheprinterdriver

installaon.

b. WhenyouhavecompletedallofthestepsintheHardware

Setup for Printers dialog,selectNext.Theprinterdriverinstalls

automacally.Whentheinstallaoniscomplete,connueto

step c.

c. WhentheInstallaon Complete dialogdisplays,removethe

OceNET Soware Suite disc fromthePCdiscdrive.

d. Select Yes,I want to restart my computer now.

e. Select Finish.ThePCrestarts.

f. Aligntheink cartridges.Forspecicinstrucons,refertothe

Align the PrinterseconintheRimage 2000i User Guideincluded

withyourproduct.

TheRimage2000isetupandinstallaoniscompleteandthe

autoloaderisreadyforuse.
