GroundFaultCircuitInterrupterProtection
This product must be properly grounded. This electric
pressure washer is equippedwith a ground fault circuit
interrupter (GFCI).Thedevice will disconnect both power
conductors to the load circuit in the event of an interruption
in either or both supply circuit power conductors. If a
malfunction or breakdown occurs, the GFCIprovides
protection.
The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is
properly installed and grounded in accordancewith all local
codes and ordinances. Readthe instructions on the plug for
use or seeBeforeStarting Pressure Washer.
AutomaticShut-Off
The pressurewasher is equippedwith a sensor that will
detectthat high pressurewater flow has stopped when
releasingor locking the spray gun trigger. Thesensor will
causethe motor to shut off for as long as the spray gun
trigger is releasedor locked.
Motor Overload
Theelectric motor in this pressure washer is equippedwith
an overload protection device.This device will automatically
shut off the motor if the motor overheatsor draws excessive
current. After a period of time, the devicewill reset and the
pressure washer can resume normal operation.
ExtensionCords
We Do Not recommend the use of extension cordswith this
device. If it is necessaryto useone, however,then you must
use only extensioncords that are approvedfor outside use.
Theseextension cords are identified by a marking
"ACCEPTABLEFORUSEWITH OUTDOORAPPLIANCES".
Extensioncords are not recommendedunless they are
plugged into a ground-fault-protected receptacle.DONOT
use damagedextensioncords. Also observe the following

2. Using supplied screws, attachhandle to pressure
washer with phillips screwdriver. Tighten until screws
are snug.

1. Insert top spray gun clip holder into slots at top of unit.
2. Push holder towards rear of unit to lock it into position.

3. Insert bottom spray gun holder into slots at the bottom
unit.
4. Push holder towards front of unit to lock it into
position.

connect coupling.

2. Attach male quick connect coupling to unit's water
inlet.
3. Run water through garden hose for 30 seconds to flush
the hose of debris. Turn off water.
4. Attach garden hosefemale quick connect fitting to
water hose(not to exceed50 feet in length). Tighten by
hand.

Attach garden hoseto pump by pressing hosequick
connect fitting over malequick connectfitting attached
to pressurewasher. You will hearor feeltwo distinct
clicks when properly attached.
IMPORTANT:DoNot siphon standing water for the water
supply. UseONLYcold water (less than IO0°F).
NOTICE
Using a OneWay Valve(vacuum breakeror check valve) at
pump inlet can causepump or inlet connector damage.
There MUSTbeat leastten feet of unrestricted garden hose
betweenthe pressure washer inlet and any device,such asa
vacuum breakeror checkvalve.
Damageto equipmentresulting from failure to follow this
instruction will void warranty.
6. Turn ONwater, point gun in asafe direction and
squeezetrigger to purge pump system and spray gun
of air.
ChecklistBeforeStarting Pressure Washer
Reviewthe unit to ensureyou haveperformed all of the
following:
1. Be sureto readSafety Rules and Operationsections
before using the pressure washer.
2. Verify high pressure hose-to-gun connection is secure.
3. Verify that there are no kinks, cuts, or damageto the
high pressure hose.
4. Verify garden hose-to-pressure washer connection is
secure and leakfree.
5. Provide proper water supply (not to exceedIO0°F).
Howto Start YourPressure Washer
Follow the instructions below in the order presented.If you
haveany problems operatingyour pressure washer, please
call the pressure washer helplineat (800) 222-3136.
1. Placepressure washer near an outside water source
capableof supplying water at a flow rategreaterthan
3 gallons per minute (11.4 I) and no less than 20 PSI
(1.38 BARS)at pressurewasher end of garden hose.
DONOTsiphon supply water.
2. Checkthat high pressure hoseis tightly connectedto
spray gun. SeeAssemblyfor illustrations.
3. Make sure unit is in a vertical position.
4. Connectgarden hoseto water inlet.
NOTICE
DONOTrun the pump without the water supply connected
and turned on.
Damageto equipmentresultingfromfailuretofollowthis
instructionwillvoidwarranty.

Turn ONwater, point gun in a safe direction and
squeezetrigger to purge pump system of air.
Engagetrigger lock on spray gun trigger.
7. Removeanydirt or foreign matterfrom spray gun
outlet and attach desired nozzleextensionto spray gun.
8. Rotatethe unit's ON/OFFswitch to the OFFposition
(fully counterclockwise.)
9. Plug power cord into an electrical circuit rated for
120 Volts ACat 15 Amps that has been installed in
accordancewith local safety regulations.The red
indicator on the GFCIshould appear.
NOTE:The red indicator must be visible for the pressure
washer to operate.

test fails.

12. Move unit's master ON/OFFswitch to the ONposition.
(Turn knobfully clockwise.)
13. Disengagespray gun trigger lock, point gun in a safe
direction and squeezetrigger. Pressure washer motor
will start.

Howto Stop YourPressure Washer
The pressurewasher motor runsonly when the trigger is
engaged.To stop the pressure washer andturn off the
motor:
1. Releasespray gun trigger.
2. Move unit's master ON/OFFswitch to OFFposition.
IMPORTANT:Releasingthe trigger will shut off the motor
but doesnot shut off electrical power to the unit.
3. Turn off water supply.
4. ALWAYSpoint spray gun in a safe direction and
squeezespray gun trigger to relievebuilt up pressure in
the unit.
WARNING
Thehigh pressure stream of water that this
equipment produces cancut through skin and its
underlying tissues, leadingto serious injury and
possible amputation.
Spraygun traps high water pressure,evenwhen
motor is stopped and water is disconnected,
which can causeinjury.
Keephigh pressure hoseconnectedto pump and spraygun at
all times.
ALWAYSpoint spray gun in safedirection and squeezespray
guntrigger, to releasehigh pressure,everytime you turn off
motor. Engagetrigger lock when not in use.

5. Engagetrigger lock on spray gun when not in use.
6. Disconnect GFCIplug from outlet and coil power cord.
Howto Usethe AdjustableNozzle
You should now know how to STARTand STOPyour
pressure washer. Theinformation in this section will tell you
how to adjust the spray pattern and to apply pressure
washer specific detergents.

Slide nozzleforward (B) when you wish to adjust spray
to low pressure mode.
Point nozzledown towards a firm surface and press
trigger to test pattern.
Twisting nozzleadjusts spray pattern from a fan pattern
(A) to a narrow pattern (B).
UsageTips
For most effective cleaning,keepspray nozzlefrom 8 to
24 inches (20 to 61 cm) awayfrom cleaningsurface.
Ifyou getspray nozzletoo close,especially using high
pressure mode, you may damagesurface being
cleaned.
DoNot getcloser than 6 inches (15 cm) when cleaning
tires.
ApplyingDetergentwith the AdjustableNozzle
To applydetergent, follow these steps:
1. Reviewuse of adjustable nozzles.
2. Preparedetergent solution as required by job.
CAUTION
Chemicalscan cause bodily injury, and/or property
damage.
NEVERusecausticliquidwithpressurewasher.
UseONLYpressurewashersafedetergents!soaps.Followall
manufacturersinstructions.
3. Lift cleaning tank lid out of the way.

Allow detergent to "soakin"for 3-5 minutes before
washing and rinsing. Reapplyas neededto prevent
surfacefrom drying. Do Not allow detergent to dry on
(prevents streaking).
Pressure Washer Rinsing
For Rinsing:
1. Slide the nozzle backwardto high pressure,press the
trigger and wait for the detergentto clear.
2. Keepthe spray gun a safe distance from the areayou
plan to spray.

Firmlygraspspraygunwithbothhandswhenusinghigh

3. Apply a high pressure spray to a small area,then check
the surfacefor damage. If no damageis found, it is
okay to continue cleaning.
4. Start atthe top of the areato be rinsed, working down
with same overlapping strokes asyou usedfor washing
and applying detergent.
4. Fill tank with prepareddetergent solution. A small
funnel may help with this task.
5. Press cleaningtank lid back down onto tank opening.
6. Slide adjustable nozzleforward to low pressure mode.
Note: Detergentcannot be applied with nozzlein high
pressure position.
7. Pull spray gun trigger and apply detergent to a dry
surface, starting at lower portion of areato be washed
and work upward, using long, even, overlapping
strokes.

Howto UsetheTurboNozzle
Theturbo nozzlespins a nozzlestream in a circular pat-
tern, providing an intense wide-spray pattern for scouring
large surface areasfast and efficiently.
A turbo nozzlecan easily cut through heavyoil and grease
stains on concrete, brick and plastic and strip paintfrom var-
ious surfaces. DONOTusethe turbo nozzleon delicate
materials, especiallywood. Always start the turbo nozzleat a
distance, gradually getting closer to the surface until you get
the cleaningforce you want. Always keepthe turbo nozzlein
a constant motion. NEVERdwell on asingle spot. Passover
stubborn stains repeatedlyuntil they are gone using even
strokes.
WARNING

The turbo nozzleproduces an extremely high
pressure spray which is capableof removing
paint and cutting holesthrough surfaces if held
too close.
Alwaysmakesurethesurfaceyouwillcleanwill notbe
damagedbythehighpressurespraybytestingin a hiddenarea.
To attachthe turbonozzleto thespraygun:
1. Engagetrigger lock on spray gun trigger.
2. Removenozzleextensionfrom spray gun, if attached.
3. Attachturbo nozzleextensionto spray gun. Tighten by
hand.
4. Disengagetrigger lockon spray gun trigger.
5. For most effectivecleaning, keep turbo nozzlefrom 8 to
24 inches awayfrom cleaning surface. Ifyou get turbo
nozzletoo close, you may damage cleaningsurface.
NOTE:Detergentcannot be appliedwith turbo nozzle.
OtherCleaningTips
Neverleavethe pressure washer unattendedwhile it is
plugged into an electrical outlet and while water is
supplied to the equipment.
Neverusethe garden hose inlet to siphon detergent or
wax.
If you havethe nozzletoo far awayfrom the surface
being washed,the cleaningwill not be as effective.
IMPORTANT:DoNot get closer than 6 inches when cleaning
tires.
Howto StoreAccessories
Theunit is equipped with an accessorytray with places to
store your spray gun and nozzleextensions. Identifyall
accessorieswith the illustrations in Featuresand Controls.
CleaningDetergentSupplySystem
If you usethe cleaningtank to dispensedetergents, it is
importantto flush the system with cleanwater before storing
the pressure washer. SeeMaintenancefor details.

Usea damp cloth to wipe exterior surfaces clean.
Usea soft bristle brush to loosen cakedon dirt, oil, etc.
Usea vacuum cleanerto pick up loose dirt and debris.
Checkand CleanInlet Screen
Examinegarden hose inlet screen. Cleanif it is clogged or
replaceif it is torn.
CheckHigh Pressure Hose
High pressure hosescan developleaks from wear, kinking,
or abuse. Inspect hosebefore eachuse. Checkfor cuts,
leaks,abrasions, bulging of cover,or damageor movement
of couplings.

NEVERrepairhighpressurehose.
CheckGunand NozzleExtension
Examinehose connection to spray gun and makesure it is
secure.Test trigger by pressing it and making sure it springs
back into placewhen you releaseit. Put safety latch in
latched position and test trigger. You should not be ableto
press trigger. Replacespray gun immediately if it fails anyof
these tests.
Thenozzleextensions useo-rings to preventwater leaks.
Normal usagewill causewear on these rings and mating
surfaces. Callthe pressure washer helpline at
1-800-4MY-HOME(1-800-469-4663) for the availability of
an O-Ring MaintenanceKit.

Nozzle Maintenance
A pulsing sensationfelt while squeezingthe spray gun
trigger may becaused by excessivepump pressure.The
principal causeof excessivepump pressure is a nozzle
clogged or restricted with foreign materials, such asdirt, etc.
To correct the problem, immediately cleanthe nozzle
following these instructions:
1. Turn master ON/OFFswitch to OFF.(Turnknobfully
counter-clockwise.) Disconnectwater supply.
2. Removenozzleextensionfrom spray gun.
3. Use supplied cleaningwire to free anyforeign material
clogging or restricting nozzle.

Using a garden hose, remove additional debris by back
flushing water through nozzleextension.Backflush
between 30 to 60 seconds.
5. Reconnect nozzleextensionto spray gun.
6. Reconnectwater supply, turn on water, and move
master ON/OFFswitch to ON.

Test pressurewasher by operatingwith nozzle in every
availableposition.

Pump and Motor Maintenance
This pressurewasher doesnot require any maintenanceon
the pump or motor. Both assembliesare pre-lubricated and
sealed, requiring no additional lubrication ever.
AfterEachUse
Water should not remainin the unit for long periods of time.
Sedimentsor minerals can deposit on pump parts and
"freeze" pump action. Follow these procedures after every
use:

Flush detergent system by lifting cleaningtank lid and
removing it and attachedhosefrom tank.
Using two stiff putty knives
or two flat bladed
screwdrivers, press in on
sides of cleaningtank. Tank
should slide out of opening.
Rinse cleaningtank out with
fresh cleanwater. Leavetank
full of cleanwater.
4. Insert detergent hoseinto tank and run pressure
washer with adjustablenozzleset for low pressure.
Flush for one or two minutes.
5. Dump remaining water out of cleaningtank. Pushtank
back into pressure washer base. Reinsertdetergent
hose and securetank lid on tank.
6. Turn master ON/OFFswitch to OFFand turn off water
supply. Point gun in a safedirection and squeeze
trigger to relievetrapped pressure.After a few
moments, releasetrigger and engagetrigger lock on
spray gun.

Spraygun traps high water pressure,evenwhen
motor is stopped and water is disconnected,
which can causeinjury.
Keephighpressurehoseconnectedto pumpandspraygun
whilesystemis pressurized.
ALWAYSpointspraygunin safedirectionandsqueezespray
guntrigger,to releasehighpressure,everytimeyouturnoff
pressurewasher.Engagetriggerlockwhennotin use.
7. Disconnect garden hosefrom pressure washer.
8. Rewind high pressure hoseonto hose reel.
9. Store unit in a clean,dry area.If storing in
temperatures below 40° F, see Winter Storage.

NOTICE
You must protectyour unit from freezing temperatures.
Failureto dosowill permanentlydamageyourpumpandrender
yourunitinoperable.
Freezedamageis notcoveredunderwarranty.
To protect theunitfrom freezing temperatures:
1. Follow steps 1-8 in the previous section AfterEach Use.
2. Store unit indoors in a clean, dry areawhere
temperatures remain above40° F.

Coverunit with a suitable protective cover that does not
retain moisture.

DONOTplacea storagecoverovera hotpressurewasher.

5. Water supply is over 100°F.
6. High pressure hoseis blocked or
leaks.
7. Gun leaks.
8. Nozzleis obstructed.
9. Pump is faulty.
1. Adjustable nozzle is not in low
pressure position.
2. In-line detergent filter is dirty.
3. Turbo nozzleextensioninstalled.
