Maintenance
GeneralRecommendations
Regularmaintenancewill improve the performanceand
extendthe life of the pressure washer. Seeany qualified
dealerfor service.
Thepressure washer's warranty does not cover items that
havebeen subjectedto operator abuseor negligence.To
receivefull valuefrom the warranty, the operator must
maintainthe pressure washer as instructed in this manual
and in the engine manual, including proper storage as
detailedin Winter Storageand Long Term Storage.
NOTE:Should you have questionsabout replacing
components on your pressure washer, pleasecall
(888) 611-6708 for assistance.
Someadjustments will needto be made periodicallyto
properly maintain your pressure washer. Checkthe
spray gun and nozzleextension assembly for wear.
All maintenancein this manualand the engine
operator's manualshould be madeat least once each
season.
Oncea year you should cleanor replacethe spark plug,
cleanor replacethe air filter. A new spark plug and
cleanair filter assure proper fuel-air mixture and help
your engine run better and last longer. Pleasereferto
your engine operator's manual for more details.
Before EachUse
1. Checkengine oil level.
2. Cleandebris.
3. Checkwater inlet screen for damage.
4. Checkhigh pressure hosefor leaks.
5. Checkdetergentsiphoning tube and filter for damage.
6. Checkspray gun and nozzleextensionassembly for
leaks.
7. Rinse out garden hoseto flush out debris.
Pump Oil
DONOTattempt any oil maintenanceon this pump. The
pump is pre-lubricated and sealedfrom the factory, requiring
no additional maintenancefor the life of the pump.
Pressure WasherMaintenance
Clean Debris
Daily or before use, cleanaccumulated debris from pressure
washer. Keeplinkage, spring and controls clean. Keeparea
around and behind muffler free from any combustible debris.
Inspect cooling air slots and openings onthe pressure
washer. These openings must be kept clean and
unobstructed.
Pressure washer parts should be kept cleanto reducethe
risk of overheatingand ignition of accumulated debris.
Usea damp cloth to wipe exterior surfaces clean.
[ NOTICE
l Improper treatment of pressure washer can damageit and
shorten its life.

trigger lock in the ONposition andtest the trigger. You
should not be ableto press thetrigger.
Nozzle Maintenance
A pulsing sensationfelt while squeezingthe spraygun
trigger may be caused by excessivepump pressure. The
principal causeof excessivepump pressure is a spray tip
clogged or restricted with foreign materials, such as dirt, etc.
To correct the problem, immediately cleanthe spray tip
following these instructions:
1. Shut off engine and turn off water supply.
2. ALWAYSpoint spray gun in a safe direction and

To protectthe unit from freezingtemperatures:
1. Follow steps 1-3 in the previous section After EachUse.
2. Use pump saver, Model6039, to treat pump. This
minimizes freezedamageand lubricates pistons and
seals.
3. If pump saver is not available, connect a 3-foot section
of garden hoseto water inlet adapter. Pour
RV-antifreeze(antifreezewithout alcohol) into hose.
Pull recoil handle twice. Disconnect3-foot hose.
4. Store unit in a clean, dry area.
LongTermStorage
If you do not plan to usethe pressure washer for morethan
30 days, you must prepare the engine and pump for long
term storage.
Protect FuelSystem
FuelAdditive:
Fuelwill becomestale whenstored over30 days. Stalefuel
causesacids and gum depositsto form in the fuel system or
on essentialcarburetor parts. Prior to storage, if gasoline
has not beentreated with a fuel stabilizer, it must be drained
from the engine into an approvedcontainer. Then run engine
until it stops from lack of fuel.
Whenfuel stabilizers are usedaccording to their
instructions, there is no needto drain the gasoline from the
engine prior to storage. Use Briggs & Stratton FRESH
STARTTM fuel stabilizer, availableas a liquid additive or a drip
concentrated liquid cartridge. Runthe engine for a short time
to circulate stabilizer throughout the fuel system. Engineand
fuel canthen be stored up to 24 months.
If gasoline is drained, the useof a fuel stabilizer in the
storage container is still recommendedto maintain
freshness.
Storing the Engine
Seethe engine operator's manualfor instructions on howto
properly preparethe engine for storage.
Protecting the Pump
To protect the pump from damagecaused by mineral
deposits or freezing, usePumpSaver,Model 6039, to treat
pump. This prevents freezedamageand lubricates pistons
and seals.
NOTICE
You must protect yOUrunit from freezing temperatures.

NOTE:PumpSaveris availableasan optional accessory. It is
not includedwith the pressure washer. Contactthe nearest
authorized servicecenter to purchase PumpSaver.
To use PumpSaver, make surethe pressure washer is turned
off and disconnectedfrom supply water. Readand follow all
instructions and warnings given on the PumpSaver
container.
Other Storage Tips
1. DONOTstore fuel from oneseason to another unless it
has beentreated as described in Protect FuelSystem.
2. Replacefuel container if it starts to rust. Rustand/or
dirt in fuel cancause problems if it's usedwith this
