accompanying the appliance.

sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of

(polarized) plug with an extension cord,
receptacle or other outlet unless the blades can
be fully inserted to prevent blade exposure.

CAUTION
Although it is neither complicated to install nor difficult to operate your Power Amplifier,
a few minutes of your time is required to read manual for a properly wired installation
and becoming familiar with its many features and how to use them.
Please take a great care in unpacking your Power Amplifier and do not discard the carton
and other packing materials.
They may be needed with when moving your set and are required if it ever becomes
necessary to return your set for service.
Never place the unit radiators, in front of heating vents, in excessively humid or dusty
location to avoid early damage and for your years of quality use.
Connect your complementary components as illustrated in the following page.
The instruction for use shall state that the apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or
splashing and that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the
apparatus.
Features
THERMAL PROTECTION & AUTOMATIC IDLING CIRUITRY
Thermal protection circuitry is provided for stability and reliability against
over-current and over-heating. Automatic idling circuit is also provided
to protect against thermal run-away.
MUTE START SYSTEM
To protect speakers and remove pop noise, start operating after 1 second.
BALANCED INPUT
To allow you to build reliable system, a balanced input is provided to reduce
hum pickup from a long distance input cable and to avoid group-loop problems.
USE OF EMERENCY BATTERY
You can operate the power amplifier by using emergency battery
for unexpected AC power failure.

Front Panel Controls

1. POWER SWITCH
Pressing this switch will make the power indication LED 2 "ON"
and supply the power to unit.
2. POWER INDICATING LED
This LED indicates power is turned ON.
3. OUTPUT LEVEL INDICATORS
These LEDs indicates the output level of this amplifier.
4. PROTECTION INDICATOR
This LED indicates the condition of the protection circuit.
When the protection LED is "ON" the amplifier is not operating normally (overheating),
please check the INPUT/OUTPUT condition of the amplifier.
Rear Panel Controls

1. AC INLET
The terminal is connected to AC Input cord.
2. AC FUSE (3A/ 250V)
Replace it with the same type fuse when it is blown out.
3. DC FUSE (20A/250V)
Replace it with the same type fuse when it is blown out.
4. DC 24V INPUT TERMINALS
These terminals are for connecting DC power supply of battery. Connect red colored
terminal to positive lead of battery and black colored one to negative lead of battery.
5. SPEAKER OUTPUT TERMINALS
These terminals are for connection of speaker lines to deliver power output
to speakers. Impedance (Voltages) of 4ohm, 8ohm, 16ohms, 70V and 100V
is provided for convenience.
6. REMOTE CONTROL TERMINALS
These terminals are connected to our Power Supply (EPD-2083) for Emergency
and announcement broadcast. Even though power switch is OFF,
it is supplied power by Power Supply.
7. HIGH-PASS FILTER SWITCH
This switch is for activating the High-pass Filter circuit to protect speaker
from excessive low frequency power demands.
The -3dB frequency of the High-pass filter is 400Hz.
8. INPUT LEVEL CONTROL
This is used for volume level of Input.
9. SIGNAL INPUT JACK
This input jack is for balanced input signal.

Installation of The Speaker

Before you connect the speaker, remove the power cord from the power
outlet and switch the EPA-2243 power switch off. When connecting the
speaker wires to the SPEAKER OUTPUT terminals, use the output
terminals that are suitable for the speaker (see above figure 1-4).
Extreme care must be exercised when connecting to these terminals as
potentially hazardous voltages may be present.
NOTE : Do not exceed the power rating of the amplifier by connecting
more speakers than the unit is rated for. If you are in doubt,
please consult a professional installer
