Overview of the ON-3D
The KVAL ON-3D Door Feeder automatically feeds individual doors from two different door
stacks (up to 7 feet high) positioned on either side of a powered conveyor table. Doors are end
gripped, then lifted and placed on the power conveyor for automatic transfer to the next station in
a door processing system. Vacuum cup lifting is an available option for flush door processing.
The operator can select to feed all doors from one side and then switch to the other side. The ON-
3D can also be set to automatically alternate picking doors one from each side.
The ON-3D can lift and feed flush doors and up to 4ft wide by 8ft high. The door is clamped on
the top and bottom rails with air cylinders. The clamp system will lift doors that vary in height
from 6’-6” to 8’-0” without any adjustment. Door thickness can vary from 1-3/8” to 2-1/4”. Max-
imum door weight 150lb.
Wire guards will be attached to the ON-3D frame on both long sides. Note: Minimum ceiling
height required for clearance for the clamp assembly is at maximum height is 14’-2”. Maximum
door stack height is 84" above the floor inclusive of pallets or caul boards.
A variable speed drive is installed, with controls, to match the feed speed connected door
machines like the Kval 558 Door Sizer.
Available Options
The table below lists the available Options for this machine. Check the machine contract to verify
what options are applied to your machine.
TABLE 1-1. Options Available
Option Title Description
Option B Right to Left Feed along
Fixed Fence
Re-orientates power buffer table rollers, drive and sensors to opposite
hand.(This option is required only if the feed direction of the complete line is
right to left.)
Option AD Architectural Version Extends machine capacity to doors up 2-1/4” x 4’ 10’ and replaces the end
grip door lift system, with a vacuum cup system from Joulin. Vertical and
horizontal lifting motions are upgraded with VFD controls for soft start and
stop. Works as well with stile and rail doors, and doors with door light
cutouts, with minimum 4-1/2” door stiles.
Option H Remote Switch Remote Switch for Manual Feed Through
Allows doors to be fed manually from the end of the machine. Price includes
a non marking plastic roll mounted in the guard.
Option L Raised Moulding This option adds the capacity to feed doors with raised moulding on either or
both sides. Maximum moulding height above door face will be 3/4 inch.
Spacers used to stack doors must be positioned so they do not interfere with
the clamp system. The clamp system supports must be manually positioned
to clear the moulding prior to feeding the doors.
The feed table will be equipped with additional rubber covered rolls closely
spaced to support the door on the molding.
NOTE: If ON-3D is used to feed a 558 Door Sizer
