3. Volume and AD/DA Test
1. As shown in the figure, connect the conversion plug (RCA phono jack ->
1/4-inch monaural phone plug) to the INPUT jack and start up in the test
mode, and then, using a monaural cable (1/4-inch monaural phone plug
<-> RCA phono plug), connect the OUTPUT jack to the conversion plug.

2. Verify that the CHECK LED lights up.
3. Turn the NOTCH knob all the way counterclockwise.
4. Turn the AMBIENCE knob to near the eleven o’clock position, and verify
that the CHECK LED goes dark.
5. Turn the AMBIENCE knob to near the one o’clock position, and verify
that the CHECK LED lights up.
6. Turn the AMBIENCE knob all the way clockwise, and verify that the
CHECK LED goes dark.
7. Carry out steps 4 through 6 for the NOTCH and ACOUSTIC
RESONANCE knobs as well.
Turning the ACOUSTIC RESONANCE knob all the way clockwise
causes the OUTPUT circuit test to be executed automatically.
The CHECK LED lights up steadily if the test results are OK, or flashes if
the results are not OK.
8. Detach the monaural cable (1/4-inch monaural phone plug <-> RCA
phono plug).
* Do not disconnect the conversion plug. If it is disconnected, the power is
switched off and the unit exits the test mode.
9. Using the Y cable (1/4-inch stereo phone plug/RCA phono plug x 2),
connect the tip of the LINE OUT jack (stereo) to the conversion plug
connected to the INPUT jack.

10. Depress the pedal.
The CHECK LED goes dark, and the test of the LINE OUT (tip) circuit is
carried out automatically.
The CHECK LED lights up steadily if the test results are OK, or flashes if
the results are not OK.
11. In the same way, connect the ring of the LINE OUT jack (stereo) to the
conversion plug.
fig.test-2-3.eps
12. Depress the pedal.
The CHECK LED goes dark, and the test of the LINE OUT (ring) circuit is
carried out automatically.
The CHECK LED lights up steadily if the test results are OK, or flashes if
the results are not OK.
4. Noise Test
1. Make the connections as shown in the figure below, then start the unit in
the normal usage state.
fig.test-3.eps
2. Set each knob as shown below.
AMBIENCE: Maximum
ACOUSTIC RESONANCE: Maximum
NOTCH: Minimum
3. Connect the amp-equipped monitor speaker to the OUTPUT jack.
4. Press the pedal several times, and verify that no switching noise occurs
and that no wires are pinched between the switch and the pedal.
5. Depress the pedal to make the CHECK LED light up.
The effect is switched on.
6. Subject the unit to impact (by dropping it from a height of about 5 cm),
and verify that no abnormal noise is heard from the speaker.
7. Connect the noise meter to the OUTPUT jack.
8. Verify that residual noise is -94 dBm or less (DIN-Audio).
9. Using the Y cable (1/4-inch stereo phone plug <-> RCA phono plug x 2),
connect the noise meter to the tip of the LINE OUT jack (stereo).
