user guide
main features
Thank you for choosing the V8 Four 30W point-to-point guitar amplier. This amplier is built to last and to give trouble free
operation with it’s unique and warm V8 sound. The Eq is especially designed to stand out from the crowd and allow to nd
your own distinctive “trademark” tone.
Main purpose of this amp design is to have the signal path as short as possible from your guitar to the speaker. This is why there
are only two ECC83 (12ax7) preamp and two EL-34 power tubes. Cathode biased power tubes allow you to change tubes
without any biasing and we’ve also installed gold plated tube sockets to maximise the playability for years to come.
Before using the unit, please read this user guide entirely for proper and safe operation. We wish you many great moments with
this unique product. - The V8 Team.

FET/TUBE Switch
To control the signal ow. Select TUBE if you want the signal path to contain only tubes. Select FET if you want to use the
additional FET preamp booster before tubes. This is useful when you need to boost your sound for solos etc. You can also
control this by connecting footswitch to it’s jack on the back panel and keeping this switch in TUBE position.
FET Knob
To control the FET channel volume. Use F.CLIP to add more distortion to the channel.
f.clip Switch
To control the fet channel distortion. Set this to up position if you want to have some fet distortion before the power tubes.
This is useful when you play with clean sound and want some distortion when switched to fet channel.
hi / lo Switch
To control the input signal. Set this switch to lo position if you want as clean as possible sound. Hi settings gives more am-
plication and distortion. This is useful for getting clean sound from humbucker or high output pickups.
DRIVE Knob
To adjust the preamp gain. If you want the cleanest possible sound or just the output distortion keep this minimum and
adjust volume with the GAS knob.
LO Knob
To adjust the low eq.
MID Knob
To adjust the mid eq. The less you use MID the more you get bass. To get very full sound set LO to max and MID to min
and adjust HI to taste.
HI Knob
To adjust the high eq.
BOOST Knob
To adjust the mid boost. The more you use BOOST the more it will bypass the LO-MID-HI settings. Turn this knob if you
want to get more British sound or feel that your guitar is not cutting through enough. This knob will have great effect for your
sound.
GAS Knob
To adjust the master volume. This controls signal to the power tubes. If you want dynamics and headroom turn this to the
max and adjust volume with DRIVE.
BRILL Knob
To adjust the high eq before power tubes. With this you can control the sound to be sharp or warm.
BASE Knob
To adjust the power amp feedback. This also affects the low sound volume. In minimum position you get more feedback
and presence and in maximum position there is no feedback. If your guitar sounds too muddy turn this counterclockwise.
You can then use GAS knob to turn level back up and also add some clarity.
RUN Switch
To switch on the high voltage. You are ready to rock!
HEAT Switch
To turn the machine on. In correct operation keep the RUN switch turned off and warm up power tubes for a minute.
INPUT Jack (left side)
To connect your guitar.
Footswitch Jack (right side)

To adjust the voltage. Check your operating country before connecting mains.
MAINS Input
To connect the mains cable. This connector contains the main fuse: 2.0A and remember to use slow blow fuse.
9V Connector
RCA with center +. 9V buzz free output for effect pedals.
OHM Selector
To adjust the impedance. Switch to correct setting according to combined speaker impedance.
OUT Jacks
To connect your speakers. Remember to connect your speaker before powering the unit. These are parallel
connections so e.g. connecting two 8-ohm cabinets turn this to 4-ohm position.
LINE OUT Jack
Output from the speaker line. This can be used for PA and recording purposes. Output impedance 3.3 Kohm.
Fuse
500mA slow blow anode fuse. This might be blown cause of possible tube breakage.
30W / 15W Switch
If you want to half the output power switch this to 15W position. You can also use 6V6 tubes in 15W position to get
different sound. WARNING! don’t use 6V6 in 30W position as it will boil your tubes.
In 30W position you can also use 6L6 tubes. Because both tubes have separate cathode resistors you can also try to
combine EL-34 and 6L6 tubes or take out one tube to get 6-20W output.
Effect Loop
You can connect external effects in parallel or serial. By setting the PAR/SER -switch to SER position the signal ows
through external effects only and in PAR position part of the signal is routed to power amp also. Connect SEND to effects
input and RET to effects output. If you are not using effect loop keep the PAR/SER switch in PAR -position as it send full
signal to the power amp.
CH F.SW Jack
By connecting your footswitch to this jack you can change the FET/TUBE channel. When using footswitch keep the front
panel switch in TUBE position.
