Panne Bella Thermostat Conversion

The Panne Bella Griddles (Model USA 24-6) with serial number preﬁ x “A” have an old style

thermostat. This thermostat has 6 lugs with 4 incoming wires and one jumper between 2 lugs.

The new style has two lugs and two incoming wires. The following instructions explain the

electrical wiring changes needed to replace the old style thermostat with the new style.

WARNING

DISCONNECT ELECTRICITY BEFORE PERFORMING THIS

PROCEDURE. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN INJURY

OR DEATH.

Disconnect power from the griddle.

Remove wires #1 and #2 from the old thermostat and connect together with the ceramic wire nut.

Remove wires #3 and #4 from the old thermostat and remove the spade connectors from the wire

ends.

Remove the knob from the stem of the thermostat.

Remove and discard the old thermostat.

Using a template with the dimensions below and the drill bit provided, drill two holes for

mounting the new thermostat.

Install the ring terminals provided on wires #3 and #4.

Install the new thermostat with two screws through the drilled holes.

Connect wires #3 and #4 to the new thermostat.

Install the knob on the stem of the thermostat.

Restore power to the unit.
