Troubleshooting:
Cannot hear or be heard via Speakerphone:
1. Your speakerphone will only allow sound to travel in one direction at a time. It can either
receive or transmit; it cannot do both at once. Background noise can cause the unit to seem like
it is cutting in and out, when really it is switching modes any transient noise like a subtle cough
or a fan in the background can cause the unit to switch modes. If you are using a speakerphone
where there is background noise, please use the MUTE button when you are not speaking. This
will prevent the unit from switching modes when you are not speaking.
2. If your telephone is not functioning properly, you may need to reset it:
Step 1. Disconnect the line cord from the base.
Step 2. Remove batteries
Step 3. Wait at least one minute. Plug in the line cord and reconnect the power.
LED not working; Display blank or faded:
1. You can adjust the display contrast.
Step 1: Press OPTIONS until SET CONTRAST is displayed.
Step 2: Press CALL LIST to raise or lower the screen contrast. There are four (4) contrast levels.
2. Ensure that the batteries are fresh and correctly installed in the base.
3. If your telephone is not functioning properly, you may need to reset it:
Step 1. Disconnect the line cord from the base.
Step 2. Remove batteries
Step 3. Wait at least one minute. Plug in the line cord and reconnect the power.
Handset falls to the ground, does not stay on when wall mounted:
The handset tab on the base of the phone must be reversed. Remove the handset from the
base (off-hook). Press down the switch hook, and slide the handset tab up and out of its slot.
Turn the tab so the end with the hook is up. Then, insert the handset tab back into its slot.
Caller ID not appearing; Caller ID incorrect data:
1. If you have other phones in your home with the Caller ID feature and none of them are
working, please Call Local Telco to report problem. Can request line be checked for noise or
trouble with Caller ID service. Note: Charges may apply.
2. If your telephone is not functioning properly, you may need to reset it:
Step 1. Disconnect the line cord from the base.
Step 2. Remove batteries
Step 3. Wait at least one minute. Plug in the line cord and reconnect the power.
3. There should not be any equipment between the jack and the Caller ID phone. This includes
faxes, adapters, answering systems, etc. Having equipment in between the jack and the phone
can cause the Caller ID information to be lost before it reaches the phone. Please plug the unit
directly into the phone jack.
4. If you subscribe to DSL service for this telephone line, DSL filters must be plugged into EVERY
phone jack that has a phone. The DSL signal can cause static/noise, squealing (similar to fax
tones), caller ID disruption and other issues on your line.
