Read,understand,andfollowallinstructionson
themachineandinthemanual(s)beforestarting.
Donotputhandsorfeetnearorunderthe
machine.
Onlyallowresponsibleadults,whoarefamiliar

Keepinmindthattheoperatororuseris

Stoptheengineofthemachinewhencrossing
surfacesotherthangrass,andwhentransporting
themachinetoandfromtheareatobecut.
Stoptheblade(s)ifthemachinehastobetiltedfor
transportationwhencrossingsurfacesotherthan
grass,andwhentransportingthemachinetoand
fromtheareatobemowed.
Donotoperatemachinewithoutthesafety
protectivedevicesinplaceandworking.
Neverleavearunningmachineunattended.
Stoptheengine,waituntilthebladecomestoa
completestop,anddisconnectthesparkplugwire
beforecleaningoruncloggingthemachine.
Operatemachineonlyindaylightorgoodarticial

SlopeOperation
Slopesareamajorfactorrelatedtoslipandfall
accidents,whichcanresultinsevereinjury.Operation
onallslopesrequireextracaution.Ifyoufeeluneasy
onaslope,donotmowit.
Mowacrossthefaceofslopes;neverupand
down.Exerciseextremecautionwhenchanging
directiononslopes.
Watchforholes,ruts,bumps,rocks,orother
hiddenobjects.Uneventerraincouldcauseaslip
andfallaccident.Tallgrasscanhideobstacles.
Donotmowonwetgrassorexcessivelysteep
slopes.Poorfootingcouldcauseaslipandfall

Neverrefuelthemachineindoors.
Neverstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlightsuchas
onawaterheateroronotherappliances.
Neverllcontainersinsideavehicleoronatruck
ortrailerbedwithaplasticliner.Alwaysplace
containersonthegroundawayfromyourvehicle
beforelling.
Removegas-poweredequipmentfromthetruck
ortrailerandrefuelitontheground.Ifthisis
notpossible,thenrefuelsuchequipmentwitha
portablecontainer,ratherthanfromagasoline
dispensernozzle.
Keepthenozzleincontactwiththerimofthefuel
tankorcontaineropeningatalltimesuntilfueling
iscomplete.Donotuseanozzlelock-opendevice.
Iffuelisspilledonclothing,changeclothing
immediately.
Neveroverllfueltank.Replacegascapand
tightensecurely.
WARNING
Exhaustcontainscarbonmonoxide,an
odorless,deadlypoisonthatcankillyou.
Donotruntheengineindoorsorinan
enclosedarea.

Neveroperatemachineinaclosedarea.
Keepallnutsandboltstighttobesurethe
equipmentisinsafeworkingcondition.
Nevertamperwithsafetydevices.Checktheir
properoperationregularly.
Keepmachinefreeofgrass,leaves,orother
debrisbuild-up.Cleanupoilorfuelspillageand
removeanyfuel-soakeddebris.Allowmachineto
coolbeforestoring.
Ifyoustrikeaforeignobject,stopandinspectthe
machine.Repair,ifnecessary,beforestarting.
Nevermakeanyadjustmentsorrepairswiththe
enginerunning.Disconnectthesparkplugwire

andgroundagainstenginetopreventunintended
starting.
Machinebladesaresharp.Wrapthebladeor

Avoidstrikingsolidobjectswiththeblade.Never
deliberatelymowoveranyobject.
Ifthemachinestrikesanobjectorstartstovibrate,
immediatelystoptheengine,disconnectthewire
fromthesparkplug,andexaminethemachinefor
damage.
Forbestperformance,installanewbladebefore
