1. IMPORTANT REMARK
Congratulations! You are the owner of a carefully designed and manufactured equipment.
We thank you for trusting in us and choosing our NEST106 loudspeaker cabinet.
In order to get the optimum operation and efficiency from this unit, it is VERY IMPORTANT
- before you plug anything - to read this manual very carefully and bear in mind all considerations
specified within it. We strongly recommend that its maintenance be carried out by our Authorized
Technical services.
2. WARNINGS
No user serviceable parts exist inside these units.
Never use this unit in the proximity of water.
Do not expose the unit to water splashing, nor place liquid containers on top of it.
Avoid placing the unit next to heat sources such as spotlights or heaters.
Use only the accessories specified by the manufacturer, employing the correct accessories
for each application.
3. INTRODUCTION
The NEST106 loudspeaker cabinet is the product of an in-depth analysis of current and
future needs for background music and notification systems. Businesses, department stores,
schools, conference rooms, hotels, industrial facilities, offices, museums, meeting halls, hospitals,
play areas, etc. are just some of the more obvious and direct places to use the NEST106. Still,
conscious of the considerable variety of locations and situations that can play host to a cabinet, the
design team at Ecler wanted to take it a step further and has made the dreams of increasingly more
demanding installers and decorators a reality:
Integration. The shape of the NEST106, with a front panel in the shape of a partial sphere
(1/8
th
of a sphere) and the back in the shape of a triangular pyramid, permits a wide variety of
potential installations, ranging from an individual cabinet fitting perfectly in a corner to several units to
make portions of a sphere or even a complete sphere (see section “5. Location and assembly”).
Exclusivity. There is no other box like it. It is a unique Ecler design that is different,
personal and most importantly, adaptable to fit a wide variety of situations. It consists of a two-way
system with a tweeter in the centre surrounded by a woofer.
Flexibility. The NEST106 comes with a switch that lets you configure the cabinet for its
desired function. All of the cabinets can work in low or high impedance, and in the latter case, at
different levels of power. Simple, quick and versatile.
Reliability and quality. The NEST106 is, first and foremost, a cabinet with a surprising
sound quality, especially given its size. This is due in part to its particular shape, which produces an
interior volume that is much higher than the subjective, perceived volume. 60 W RMS of power with
a performance of 93 dB SPL@1W 1m are hard to beat in cabinets with these characteristics.

4. CONNECTIONS
The NEST106 can operate in high or low impedance. To
this end, there is a five-position switch on the front panel behind the
protective grille. This switch allows you to select the operating
mode. The first four switches allow the system to operate in high-
impedance mode and the fifth, in low-impedance mode. (*)
The four positions with a 100V/70V power line allow you
to set the maximum power that will be used by each unit. That
means that you will use the 5 or 7.5W/2.5 or 3.75W positions for areas where you would like a lower
level of sound and 15 and 30W/7.5 and 15W in areas where you would like the sound to be louder.
Note: If you use the speaker in 70V installations, the power for the 100V position will be
half the amount shown on the switch. When used in 50V installations, it will be a fourth of the
amount.
The fifth position is for low-impedance (8 Ω) mode and a maximum power of 60 W. If you
use this configuration, you should keep in mind the limits of the amplifier when several speakers are
hooked up to it, especially if the impedance of the overall installation is lower than 4 Ω. Also, it is
important that the cable used to connect the output jacks on the amplifier to the speakers is good
quality and as short a possible; this is especially important in the case of longer distances when the
impedance of the speakers is low.
(*) N.B.: The system of distributing the speakers on a 100V/70V line has historical origins in the need
to mix speakers with different impedances and/or power capacities on the same line or amplification
channel without having to worry about the total impedance of the resulting system. Also, this solution
allows you to use longer lengths of cable with a sensibly lower section than is normally used in low-
impedance installations with minimum power loss.
¡ATTENTION!:
The NEST106 is delivered with the switch in the 100V/70V position. If you accidentally hook it
up to a low-impedance system, no damage will be done to the speaker, but it will perform far under its
real capabilities. If you accidentally connect the speaker to a 100V/70V network in the 8 Ω position, this
will cause serious damage to the speaker.

5. PLACEMENT AND MOUNTING
Consider following general rules:
Place the cabinets on solid and firm surfaces.
No obstacles should stand between the cabinets and the audience.
Although the speakers can be used outdoors, they should not be directly exposed to
sunlight or rain.
Always adjust the output sound pressure levels to the reproduction requirements. Despite
their small size, they can produce significantly higher pressure levels than home speakers.
The NEST106 packaging contains everything you need to install the cabinet:
Two metal wall mount guides (one per cabinet).
Eight screws and eight 6 mm wall anchors (four per cabinet).
Two M6x30 DIN912 screws (one per cabinet).
One M6 Allen wrench.
Two terminal block connectors (one per cabinet).
An instruction manual.
A warranty certificate for each cabinet.
Screws, washers and nuts to join the mount guides
Individual corner installation procedure:
1. Drill two 6 mm holes in each wall of the corner where you would like to install the cabinet.
Use the metal guide as a template to mark the positions.
2. Insert four 6 mm wall anchors in the holes.
3. Put the metal guide in place. Insert and tighten the screws supplied.
4. Use the terminal block connector to connect the speaker cable to the connector on the
back part of the cabinet. Make sure to line up the right polarity on the terminals and make
sure the cable goes through the square hole on the mount guide.
5. Put the cabinet in its final position and use one of the M6 screws to fix the metal guide in
place. To do so, you must first remove the metal grille on the front panel.
6. Set the power switch to the desired position.
7. Replace the metal grille.
7
Procedure for installing groups of several cabinets:
If you would like to install a set of two joined cabinets (1/4 sphere), you must first join their
two guides together using two screws, washers and nuts (supplied). Once you have joined
the guides, the installation procedure is basically the same as for an individual installation.
If you would like to install three or more cabinets jointed together, each of the guides
should be joined to the one prior to it using two screws, washers and nuts (supplied). Once
you have joined the guides, the installation procedure is basically the same as for an
individual installation.
If you would like to install a single front-facing cabinet on a flat surface, you must first
make a slight modification to the metal guide (it may be flattened to this end) and remove
the triangular tab next to the ECLER logo on the cabinet.
For other cabinets installations (on a flagpole, under a flagpole, etc.), contact our technical
support department or see www.ecler.com
to check for available accessories and/or
recommendations for each particular case.
