tions are part of this product. They contain important information
on safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, familiarize
yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Use the product
only as described and for the specified areas of application.

The following warning types are used in these operating instruc-
tions:
This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to
potential injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that
follow this symbol to avoid possible injury and death.
DANGER indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided,
will result in death or serious injury.
WARNING indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided,
could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided,

Safety instructions
This section contains important safety instructions for using the ap-
pliance. This appliance complies with statutory safety regulations.
Improper use may result in personal injury and property damage.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are
present, basic safety precautions should always be followed,
including the following:

DANGER – As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts
are electrically live even when the switch is off:
To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
1. Always “unplug it” immediately after using.
2. Remove the plug from the mains power socket in event of
operating malfunctions and before cleaning the appliance.
3. To disconnect the power cable, always pull the plug from the
socket; do not pull the power cable itself.
4. Ensure that the power cable does not become wet or damp
during use. Route the cable in such a way that it cannot be
crushed or damaged.
5. If the appliance, the power cable or the plug are damaged,
arrange for them to be repaired by Customer Services to
avoid the risk of injury.
6. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
7. Do not use extension cables – they will make it difficult to
disconnect the appliance quickly in an emergency.

8. Never touch the appliance, the power cable or the power
plug with wet hands.
9. Do not kink or crush the power cable, and route the cable so

11. Never leave a switched-on appliance unsupervised.
12. Do not operate the appliance if it has been dropped or is
damaged in any way. Have the appliance checked and/or
repaired by qualified technicians if necessary.
13. Children must not play with the appliance.
14. Do not open the housing or attempt to repair the appliance
yourself. This can lead to risks and also invalidates the warran-
ty. Defective appliances should be repaired by authorized
specialists only.

The appliance heats up during use. Always hold the appliance
by its handle when it is hot.

ADDITIONAL SAFEGUARDS
Electrocution possible if used or dropped in tub.
Unplug after using.
Household use only.
Never use the appliance near water, and keep it away from
sinks, baths and other similar containers. The proximity of water
is hazardous, even if the appliance is turned off. Always
disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet after use.
This product contains chemicals known to the
state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other
reproductive harm.
Important cord information
This appliance has a polarized plug. To reduce the risk of electric
shock, this plug only fits into a polarized outlet in one way.
If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.
If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
A short power supply cord (or detachable power supply cord)
should be used to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in,
or tripping over a longer cord.
Longer detachable power supply cords or extensions cords may
be used if they are used carefully.

If a longer detachable power supply cord or extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the
countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or
tripped over unintentionally; and
3) If the appliance has a grounded plug, the cord set or extension
cord should also be a grounded 3-wire cord.
Intended use
This flat iron is intended for straightening human hair only. Un-
der no circumstances is it to be used for wigs or hairpieces made
of synthetic material. This appliance is intended exclusively for
private use. Pay attention to all of the information in this operating
manual, especially the safety instructions. This appliance is not
intended for commercial applications.
The appliance is not intended for any other purpose, nor for use
beyond the scope described. No claims of any kind will be ac-
cepted for damage arising as a result of incorrect use. The risk
shall be borne solely by the user.

Unpacking
Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions
from the box.
Remove all packaging material.
RISK OF SUFFOCATION! Packaging materials
should not be used as a toy. There is a risk of suffocation.
Disposal of packaging materials
The packaging protects the appliance from damage during
transport. The packaging materials have been selected for their
environmental friendliness and ease of disposal, and are therefore
recyclable.
Returning the packaging into the material cycle conserves raw
materials and reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose
of packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance
with applicable local regulations.
If possible, keep the appliance’s original packaging during the
warranty period so that the appliance can be packed properly
for return shipment in the event of a warranty claim.

Before straightening
The hair should be clean, dry and free of styling products. The
only exception to this are special products which facilitate hair
straightening.
Comb the hair thoroughly before straightening so that there
are no knots in it.
Automatic power off
This appliance is equipped with an automatic power off system.
After 30 minutes, the appliance will turn off automatically. After
approx. 25 minutes, the indicator lamp 2 starts to flash to remind
you it is about to turn off automatically. If you want to continue
using the appliance, turn it off for a moment and then back on
again.
The automatic power off is a safety function only and is not
intended as a replacement for turning the appliance off properly
using the on/off switch 4!

Operation
Turning on/off
The hotplates 1 must be free of dirt. Clean them before use, if
necessary (see "Cleaning" section).
The appliance is secured with the catch 5.
Press the hotplates 1 together and pull the catch 5 back.
Now you can open the flat iron all the way.
1) Insert the plug into a power socket.
2) Push the ON/OFF switch 4 into the ON position. The indicator
light 2 starts to flash red and the appliance starts to heat up.
3) Select the temperature suitable for your hair by turning the
temperature control 3:
Turn the temperature control towards MIN to reduce the
temperature.
Turn the temperature control towards MAX to increase the
temperature.
Select a high temperature for thick and strong hair.
Select a lower temperature for fine and thin hair.
If you are unsure, start with a lower temperature and increase the
temperature until you find the ideal temperature for you.

4) As soon as the flat iron has reached the set temperature, the
indicator lamp 2 will light up permanently red.
5) When you have finished styling your hair, push the ON/OFF
switch 4 back into the OFF position. The indicator light 2
turns off.
Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down completely.
Straightening hair
1) Prepare the hair as described in "Before straightening".
2) Start with the lower sections of hair at the back of your head.
Work around the sides to the front:
Take a strand with a width of approximately 2 cm and hold its
end tightly between your index and middle finger of the hand
that is not holding the flat iron.
Ensure that the hotplates 1 do not touch your
scalp. Risk of burns! Never touch the hotplates 1 during opera-
tion! During operation, hold the appliance only by its handles.

3) Clamp the strand near the root between the hotplates 1 and
press them together.
4) Pull the entire strand through the hotplates 1 by pulling the flat
iron quickly downward from the root to the tips.
5) Proceed in the same way for every strand.
6) Once you have straightened all the strands, turn the appliance
off and pull the power plug from the power socket.
7) Allow the appliance to cool down completely.
Press the hotplates 1 together and push the catch 5 back in.

Cleaning
Before cleaning the appliance, always pull out
the plug from the power socket. There is a risk of electric shock!
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you
immerse the appliance in water or other liquids during cleaning!
Allow the appliance to cool fully before cleaning
it. Risk of burns!
Do not use any aggressive, abrasive or chemi-
cal cleaning agents! These could damage the upper surfaces of
the appliance.
1) Wipe the housing and the hotplates 1 with a damp cloth.
2) For stubborn residues, you may add a mild detergent to the
cloth. Wipe off any detergent residue using a cloth and clean
water only.
3) Allow the appliance to dry fully before using it again.
Storage
Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface to cool down.
You can hang the appliance up by the hook 6.
If you do not intend using the appliance for long periods,
clean the appliance as described in the "Cleaning" section.

Warranty
What does this warranty cover?
The warranty covers:
Damage, breakage, or inoperability due to defect.
Damage not accounted by normal wear and tear or following
the safety and maintenance instructions provided in the user
manual.
What is not covered by the warranty?
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
Normal wear and tear of the product, including fragile parts
(such as switches, glass, etc.);
Improper use or transport;
Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;
Accidents or acts of nature (eg., lightening, fire, water, etc.).
Tampering with the product (such as removing cover, unscrew-
ing screws etc.)
What is the period of coverage and warranty resolution?
The warranty is for 3 years from the date of purchase. At our dis-
cretion, product will either be refunded or replaced.
What will we not do?
We will not:
Start a new warranty period upon product exchange;
We will not repair product.
