GENERAL INFORMATION
TUMBLED RIVER STONE
The Tumbled River Stone Contemporary Media is to be used as a decorative
addition in contemporary fireplaces. Please read this instruction sheet
in its entirety before applying this Contemporary Media.
ALL WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS IN THE INSTALLATION AND
OPERATION MANUAL PROVIDED WITH THE APPLIANCE APPLY TO
THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
Refer to the appliance Installation Instructions and Care And Operations
manual (IICO) for detailed instructions.
TURN OFF THE FIREPLACE AND ALLOW IT TO COMPLETELY COOL
BEFORE PROCEEDING.
CAUTION: TURN OF GAS TO THE APPLIANCE AND LOCK OUT ANY
ELECTRICAL SWITCHES.

PREPARING THE FIREPLACE FOR STONE MEDIA INSTALLATION
1. To access the glass door securing latches, first remove the facade
assembly from the fireplace.
2. Lift the barrier to clear the brackets and swing the bottom of the
barrier out. Then lower the barrier to clear the top channel.
3. Detach the two (2) door latches beneath the firebox floor.
4. Swing the bottom of the glass door away from the fireplace to a
45° angle.
5. Carefully grip the door at the top and bottom, and remove it from
the fireplace. Place the door in a safe location for later reinstallation.
INSTALLING THE CONTEMPORARY MEDIA
Install Tumbled River Stone (MTRS)
IMPORTANT: Refractory panels should be installed before any of the
contemporary media are installed.
1. Install the glass media in the recessed area between the front and
rear floors.
NOTE: 35” fireplaces require less than a full bag of glass media. 40”
fireplaces require an entire bag of media.
2. Spread the glass media in a thin layer, evenly over the burner.
Leave the pilot area open and take care to not allow crushed glass to
fall into the pilot.
NOTE: Do NOT mound the media.
3. Place stones on the firebox sub-floor, in any aesthetically pleasing
manner to suit individual taste. See Figure 1 and 2 for an example.
IMPORTANT: Be sure stones do not impinge on the burner outlet.
WARNING: If contemporary media are not installed
according to the installation instructions, flame
impingement and improper combustion could occur
and result in soot and/or excessive production
of carbon monoxide (CO), a colorless, odorless,
toxic gas.
WARNING: Only use materials listed here. Only
contemporary media authorized have been tested
for use within the firebox and its environment. Do
not attempt to use any different materials in the
fireplace. Doing so may be dangerous and will
void the warranty and will result in incomplete
combustion, sooting, and poor flame quality.

WARNING: Handle glass doors with extreme care!
Tempered glass is susceptible to damage – do
not scratch or handle roughly while removing or
installing the glass door.
NOTE: DIAGRAMS & ILLUSTRATIONS NOT TO SCALE.
Re-Installing the Glass Door, Barrier, and Facade
1. Retrieve the glass door. Visually inspect the gasket on the backside of the frame. Gasket surface must be clean, free of irregularities and seated firmly.
2. Position the door in front of the firebox opening with the bottom of the door held away from the fireplace at a 45° angle. Hook the top flange of
the door frame over the top of the firebox frame.
NOTE: Ensure the glass door is centered—with even spacing on each side.
3. Let the bottom of the glass door swing gently in towards the fireplace ensuring that the gasket seats evenly as the door draws shut. Securely
fasten the two (2) latches beneath the firebox floor to the door V-flange.
4. Install the barrier by sliding in into the top channel with the flat side toward the fireplace, then swinging the base of the barrier into the brackets
and lowering it into place.
5. Install the facade assembly to the front of the fireplace.
