1. INSTRUMENT DESCRIPTION
1.1 General description
TT70 is a digital microprocessor timer with direct reading
analogue setting and is equipped with 2 relay outputs.
The instrument only counts down and displays the count
status via a LED bar and a 3-digit display.
The timer has 2 relay outputs whose status is pointed out
by 2 LEDs, it is also equipped with an internal memory
(with LED light) to resume counting in the event of a power
failure and a buzzer to signal the count end.
This model has 2 functions (01, 02), 60 s ÷ 6 h time base,
memory, internal buzzer, 24 VAC/DC operating voltage and
is equipped with an octalsocket.

2. PROGRAMMING
2.1 Time count setting
The time delay is set by turning the knob and pointing
the red pointer at the desired timing. The time scale in
use, seconds, minutes or hours, is selected using the DIP
Switches located on the side of the instrument and is dis-
played by one of the 3 LEDs located on the instrument dial
(item n° 7 in the description of the front panel).

2.2 Operating parameters
The operating parameters can be set using the 8 DIP
Switches located on the body of the instrument. To have
access to the DIP Switches it is necessary to remove the
plastic protection cover with a small screwdriver.
D It is recommended to remount the plastic cover to pro-
tect the timer circuitry from dust or other contaminants.

3. USAGE WARNINGS
3.1 Admitted use
D The instrument has been projected and manufactured
as a measuring and control device to be used accord-
ing to
EN61010-1
at altitudes operation below 2000 m
.
Using the instrument for applications not expressly permitted
by the above mentioned rule must adopt all the necessary
protective measures.
The instrument MUST NOT BE USED in dangerous environ-
ments (flammable or explosive) without adequate protections.
D The installer must ensure that the EMC rules are
respected, also after the instrument installation, if
necessary using proper filters.
4. INSTALLATION WARNINGS
4.1 Mechanical mounting
The instrument, in a DIN 72 x 72 mm container, is designed
for panel mounting inside an enclosure.
Make a 60 x 65 mm (L x H) hole and insert the instrument,
fixing it with the appropriate screw type brackets.
Avoid installing the instrument in places with high humidity
which can generate condensation or with dirt which can
lead to the introduction of conductive substances into the
instrument.
Ensure adequate ventilation to the instrument and avoid
installation in containers that house devices which may
overheat or which may cause the instrument to function at
a higher temperature than the one permitted and declared.
Connect the instrument as far away as possible from
sources of electromagnetic disturbances such as motors,
power relays, relays, solenoid valves, etc..

4.2 Electrical connections
Carry out the electrical wiring by connecting only one wire to
each terminal, according to the following diagram, checking
that the power supply is the same as that indicated on the
instrument and that the load current absorption is no higher
than the maximum electricity current permitted.
As the instrument is built-in equipment with permanent con-
nection inside housing, it is not equipped with either switches
or internal devices to protect against current overloads: the
installation will include an overload protection and a two-
phase circuit-breaker, placed as near as possible to the in-
strument and located in a position that can easily be reached
by the user and marked as instrument disconnecting device
which interrupts the power supply to the equipment.
It is also recommended that the supply of all the electrical cir-
cuits connected to the instrument must be protect properly, us-
ing devices (ex. fuses) proportionate to the circulating currents.
It is strongly recommended that cables with proper insulation,
according to the working voltages and temperatures, be used.
Furthermore, the input cable of the probe has to be kept sepa-
rate from line voltage wiring.
If shielded cables are used, it is recommended to connect
the protective braid to earth at one side only.
D Before connecting the outputs to the actuators we
strongly recommend that a check should be made that
the parameters are those desired and that the applica-
tion functions correctly, so as to avoid malfunctioning
that may cause irregularities in the plant that could
cause damage to people, things or animals.

5. OPERATION
5.1 Operation of counting commands
The timer operation is managed solely by the supply voltage.
The cycles are started by supplying power to the instrument.
5.2 Model 857 - Outoput operation

6. PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE
6.1 Cleaning
It is raccomended to clean the instrument only with a cloth
welted with water or with a detergent neither abrasive nor
containing solvents.
6.2 Disposal
The appliance (or the product) must be
disposed of separately in compliance
with the local standards in force on
waste disposal.
7. WARRANTY AND REPAIRS
The instrument is under warranty against construction vices or
defected material, noticed within 18 months from delivery date.
The warranty is limited to the repairs or to the substitution
of the instrument. The eventual opening of the housing, the
violation of the instrument or the wrong use and installation
of the product means the automatic decay of the warranty.
In case of defected instrument, noticed in warranty period or
out of warranty, do contact our sales department to obtain
the shipment authorisation.
The defected product must be shipped to Ascon Tecnologic with
the detailed description of the failures found and without any
fees or charge for Ascon Tecnologic, safe different agreements.
