Before you can transfer files or synch information between your phone and PC, install the appropriate synch application on your
PC.
For Windows
® XP and Windows® 2000 systems, use Microsoft® ActiveSync® (4.5 or later) for file transfers and synching with
your PC. For Windows Vista
® systems, use Windows Mobile® Device Center. Do NOT install ActiveSync® on a Windows Vista®
system. Doing so could cause synching problems.
For more information or to download the synch application for your PC, go to
www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/activesync/default.mspx
.
1. Connect the USB cable to your phone and PC.
2. If you are using ActiveSync for file transfers and synching (Windows XP and 2000 systems) and this is the first time connecting,
complete the ActiveSync setup. Each device that you want to connect requires its own device setup.
For Windows Vista systems, use Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) for file transfers and synching with your PC. See the
WMDC help on your PC or go to www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx
for more information.
XTip If your phone does not connect to ActiveSync, press Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC and uncheck the
advanced networking functionality option.
3. Check the items to synchronize and press Next to start the synch.
4. When the synch is complete, disconnect the cable. The next time you connect, synching will start automatically.
XTip To change synch items or schedule, select Tools > Options in the ActiveSync window while your phone and PC are still
connected.
