USING 4K TCI INPUT CARDS
1.1 General
Phenom enon
Under certain conditions, the DisplayPort Input of the TCI card may fail to acquire a valid
video.
Solution
Update your E2, S3–4K, or Ex processor to Release 5.0.1555. The code is available
only on f
tp://ftp.folsom.co m/ under “Product\Image Processing\E2_S3_Ex\Beta Re-
leases\E2_S3_Ex\Release 5.0 PATCH”.
This patch will be included in software release 5.1, expected in February.
Scope
This phenomenon affects only 4K TCI cards used in E2, S3–4K, or EX processors.
1.2 Upgrading the firmware
Firmware upgrade
1. Go to the Barco Folsom FTP site at f
tp://ftp.folsom.co m/.
2. Go to Products\Image Processing\E2_S3_Ex\Beta Releases\E2_S3_Ex\Release 5.0
PATCH.
3. Download the ZIP file to a FAT32-formated USB thumb drive.
4. Unzip the firmware upgrade on the USB thumb drive.
This operation automatically creates a directory named
EM with the upgrade file inside
(em_update_vp.5.0.1555.tar.gz).
5. Perform the firmware upgrade, using the USB thumb drive.
