USING THE GPSMIC: Operation of the PRYME GPSMIC is simple and transparent.
Turn the two-way radio that the GPSMIC is attached to on, select the operating channel, and set the
volume to a comfortable listening level.
To transmit, hold the GPSMIC approximately six inches in front of your mouth, hold down the Push-To-Talk
key, and speak slowly and clearly. When you are done speaking, release the PTT key.
Received signals will be head over the GPSMIC’s large front-ring speaker (unless you are using an
optional external speaker or earphone).
• Because location messages are sent automatically, the user needs only to operate the GPSMIC as they
would any other remote speaker microphone.
EMERGENCY FUNCTION: The GPSMIC has a built-in emergency function that can be activated in the
event of a crisis. press and hold the orange panic button on the GPSMIC for three seconds. By default,
this function will cause the GPSMIC to transmit a new location message automatically every minute.
To cancel the emergency and return to normal operation again press and hold the emergency button for
three seconds.

PROGRAMMING: The PRYME GPSMIC requires setup and programming prior to use. This guide
assumes the default features and programming have been enabled. Your unit may be congured
differently. If you have questions about the operation of the GPSMIC, contact your system
administrator or the dealer that you purchased the GPSMIC system from.
POWER/CHARGING: Most models of GPSMIC are capable of operation as a standard remote speaker
microphone even without a power source. However, some models (such as QD versions) require a
power source. All GPSMIC products require power in order for the unit’s GPS receiver and data modem
to operate.
GPSMIC units operated using a portable radio are powered by an internal lithium-ion rechargeable
battery pack. This pack requires regular recharging using the supplied GPS-USBC AC wall charger.
To charge the battery, do the following:
1. Plug the charger into a 120 volt AC wall outlet.
2. Connect the charger to the Data Interface port on the back of the GPSMIC.
3. Once the charging process has begun, the LED indicator on the side of the GPSMIC will ash green
once every 10 seconds. Once charging is complete, the LED will indicate solid green. Typical charge time
is approximately 5-6 hours.
4. Disconnect the charger when charging is completed.
5. Typical operating time between charges is generally greater then 10 hours. However, operating time
can vary depending on usage and the condition of the battery pack. Recharge the battery regularly.
6. You can also charge the GPSMIC by connecting it to the USB port of a personal computer.
