The Wavin Tempower Control System consists of a base
unit, room thermostat, sensors and actuators. The base
unit manages the operation of the actuator when the
thermostats detect a demand for heating or cooling, and
monitors relative humidity to prevent condensation.
The Wavin Tempower Control System can be controlled by
two types of thermostats.

DRT-200 has a unique touch surface to set the
temperature and adjust between modes. The DRT-200
has a completely digital construction and does not
contain any moving parts, giving it significantly
incr
eased lifetime. The temperature and operation mode
settings are indicated by LEDs. The thermostat matches
the size of standard electric boxes, ensuring easy
installation and fit. The thermostat does not require a
separate power supply as it works via the communica
-
tion cable.
4.2.1. How to use the thermostat
1 DRT-200 is always in standby mode when is
connected.
2
First touch the dial sensor to switch on the setting
mode.

The on/off button will turn off the heating or cooling in the room:
when the thermostat in off mode then the actuator(s) is in the
closed position. This function can be activated by the room
thermostat (default) or via a master thermostat or the building
management system.
4.4.1. Temperature setting

e of the current operating mode. The default reference
temperature for summer is 26
°C, and for winter is 21 °C. The
temperature setting range from the reference temperature is +/- 6
°C (default). T

4.4.2. Comfort/economy mode
The thermostat has a comfort/economy function. When the
comfort mode is activated (by pressing the moon symbol) the set
temperature will be 17 °C (default). This function can be activated
b
y the room thermostat (default) or via a master thermostat or the
building management system.
4.4.3. Heating/cooling mode changeover
This function changes the complete heating/cooling system from
one mode to an other. If the heating system is a four pipe
system then all connected zone valves will controlled via the
WTC-3. This function can be activated only on the master
thermostat (default).
4.4.5. Built in humidity sensor
E
very DRT-200 room thermostat has a built in relative humidity
s
ensor. This sensor continuously measures the relative humidity in
the room and sends information to the WTC-3 base unit. In case
of high humidity the WTC-3 will adjust the set temperature of
thermostat increasing it step by step.
4.4.6. Open window detection
Each thermostat has an open window detector input. If this is
used with a window sensor, then the thermostat will stop the
heating/cooling system if the window is opened.
4.4.7. Dew point sensor connection
Each thermostat has a dew point sensor input. This sensor is
installed in the ceiling operates as an override if the sensor
detects condensation; the thermostat closes the actuator on the
manifold, stopping the cooling in the room.
4.4.8. Dimmer function
The thermostat continuously measures the brightness of the envi-
ronment, and sets the LEDs brightness accordingly
. This ensur
es
a higher comfort level as the LEDs dim in low light condition.

5.4.1. Monitoring dew point via relative humidity
sensor of room thermostat
Every DRT-200 room thermostat has a built in relative humidity
sensor. Take care removing the white-yellow part on the
t
hermostat to make it works.
The WTC-3 base unit continuously receives the actual relative
humidity and room temperature data from every r
oom thermostat.
The built in program can calculate the actual dew point tempera-
tur
e fr
om these data in every room. When the dew point reaches
a pr
edefined level, the base unit will adjust the room thermostat
to a higher temperature to prevent the
condensation. This gives the highest level of comfort and the
optimum cooling capacity.
5.4.2. Connect dew point sensor to DRT-200
room thermostat
An override dew point sensor should be connected dir
ectly to the
DRT-200 room thermostat.
Two (2) types of dew point sensor can be connected :
Dew point sensor for dry system
Dew point sensor for wet system
This sensor must be placed in the ceiling next to the inlet pipe.
The sensor has 10m of wire that can be connected directly to the
first and second input of DRT-200. The dew point sensor also
monitors condensation in addition to the built in relative humidity
sensor.

The WTC-3 has seven outputs to connect actuators.
Wavin actuators feature connectors for fast installation
which simply plug in the actuators to the appropriate
ports.
Note:
Connect only 230V and normally closed (NC)
type actuators.
Connect a maximum of three (3) actuators per
output.

The WTC-3 is equipped to control motorized zone valves
to changeover from heating to cooling mode and vice
versa. This function is used with a four-pipe system.
In a four-pipe system, each inlet and outlet requires a two
p
ort motorised valve because of hydraulic reason
(balancing). All motorised valves are controlled by the
WTC-3.
The base unit has a default program function to prevent
unwanted temperature increase in the return flow pipe
system. During the changeover between heating and coo-
ling mode the WTC-3 closes the inlet and outlet motorized
valves, then waits ten minutes before opening the other
inlet and outlet motorized valves. This ten minute
presetting can be modify via the WTC-3 software
(1 — 16min).

The WTC-3 can regulate mixing valves to set and keep
under control the inlet water temperature for heating and
cooling.
The built in program can keep the requested temperature
within +/- 0.3
°C.
The WTC-3 uses the PI regulation to keep an accurate
temperature. The PI regulation decreases over control and
stopped the wave effect within the shortest time.
Note
Any type of mixing valve controlled by 0-10V can be used.
The default inlet temperature values for heating:
45
°C
The default inlet temperature values for cooling:
16
°C
Both values can be modified in the software according to
request.
The Wavin temperature sensor must be placing after the
mixing valve and attached directly to the pipe!

With WTC-3 there is the possibility to control one or more

These informations are valid if we use tha Analogue
Thermosat to control the temperature in the room.
In areas where the relative humidity is higher then the
normal (e.g. close to the sea or a lake), a dehumidifier will
need to be installed. The dehumidifier can keep the
relative humidity value at an acceptable level so that
surface cooling installation will not suffer from
condensation.
The WTC-3 has an output to start and stop a dehumidifier
unit based on the relative humidity at the master room at
separately installed and connected humidity sensor.
The separately connected humidity sensor ( NOT WAVIN
product) can calculate the dew point from the actual
temperature and relative humidity.
If the calculated dew point temperature getting closer to
the preset inlet water temperature ( factory default 15
°C)
with 2.2
°C then the output 7 of WTC-3 is turn on.
The output 7 stay turn on until the calculated dew point
temperature will decrease with 2.2 °C under the preset
inlet water temperature.

These informations are valid if we use the DRT-200 Digital
Thermostat to control the temperature and the humidity in
the room.
One DRT-200 can control more than one dehumidifier, and
one dehumidifier can be controlled by more than one
DRT-200.
Taking into consideration that Output 8 is for the Pump
(see page 18), 7 Outputs remain for the
connections of the dehumidifiers and actuators.
Consequently
, if we increase the number of the
deuhimidifiers, the number of actuators which could be
connected will decrease.
For example, if we have 2 dehumidifiers, we will have 5
outputs for the connection of the actuators.
