GeneralSafetyPrecautions

•Duringcleaningandflushing,solventscanbeforcefullyexpelledfromfluidandairpassages.Somesolventscancauseeyeinjury.



•Besureallothersintheareaarewearingimpactresistanteyeandfaceprotection.



•Evensmallprojectilescaninjureeyesandcauseblindness.



•Airunder

pressurecancausesevereinjury.Alwaysshutoffairsupply,drainhoseofairpressureanddisconnecttoolfromairsupply

whennotinuse,beforechangingaccessoriesorwhenmakingrepairs.Neverdirectairatyourselforanyoneelse.Whippinghosescan

causeseriousinjury.Alwayscheckfordamagedor

loosehosesandfittings.Neverusequickchangecouplingsattool.Theyaddweight

andcouldfailduetovibration.Instead,addahosewhipandconnectcouplingbetweenairsupply,andhosewhip,orbetweenhose

whipandleaderhose.Donotexceedmaximumairpressureof63PSI.



•Fireextinguishing

equipmentmustbepresentinthesprayarea.



•Neverspraynearsourcesofignitionsuchaspilotlights,welders,etc.



•Halogenatedhydrocarbonsolvents–forexample;methylenechloride,arenotchemicallycompatiblewiththealuminumthatmightbe

usedinmanysystemcomponents.Thechemicalreactioncausedby

thesesolventsreactingwithaluminumcanbecomeviolentandlead

toanequipmentexplosion.Gunswithstainlesssteelfluidpassagesmaybeusedwiththesesolvents.However,aluminumiswidelyused

inothersprayapplicationequipment‐suchasmaterialpumps,cupsandregulators,valves,etc.Checkallotherequipmentitemsbefore



useandmakesuretheycanalsobeusedsafelywiththesesolvents.Readthelabelordatasheetforthematerialyouintendtospray.If

indoubtastowhetherornotacoatingorcleaningmaterialiscompatible,contactyourmaterialsupplier.



•Sprayedmaterialsmaybe

harmfulifinhaled,orifthereiscontactwiththeskin.Adequateexhaustmustbeprovided

tokeeptheairfreeofaccumulationsoftoxicmaterials.Useamaskorrespiratorwheneverthereisachanceofinhaling

sprayedmaterials.Themaskmustbecompatiblewiththematerialbeingsprayedand

itsconcentration.

 







Dry or worn needle packing seat

Tighten, lubricate or change

Dust or other foreign matter on

PATTERN IS NOT EVENLY SPREAD











Material build up on the outside

of fluid nozzle tip or center hole

or the nozzle orifice is partially

clogged.

Remove obstruction or clean gun.

Never use a wire or other hard

implement for cleaning.



  

Loose fluid nozzle. Tighten fluid nozzle.



   



CENTER OF PATTERN TOO NARROW



 

Atomization too high or air

pressure to high.

Reduce air pressure.



 



Material (paint) too thin. Regulate material viscosity.



   

PATTERN WIDTH NOT SHARP



Too low and atomization or air

pressure.

Increase air pressure.




