Halogenatedhydrocarbonsolventsforexample;methylenechloride,arenotchemicallycompatiblewiththealuminumthatmightbe
usedinmanysystemcomponents.Thechemicalreactioncausedby
thesesolventsreactingwithaluminumcanbecomeviolentandlead
toanequipmentexplosion.Gunswithstainlesssteelfluidpassagesmaybeusedwiththesesolvents.However,aluminumiswidelyused
inothersprayapplicationequipment‐suchasmaterialpumps,cupsandregulators,valves,etc.Checkallotherequipmentitemsbefore
useandmakesuretheycanalsobeusedsafelywiththesesolvents.Readthelabelordatasheetforthematerialyouintendtospray.If
indoubtastowhetherornotacoatingorcleaningmaterialiscompatible,contactyourmaterialsupplier.
Sprayedmaterialsmaybe
harmfulifinhaled,orifthereiscontactwiththeskin.Adequateexhaustmustbeprovided
tokeeptheairfreeofaccumulationsoftoxicmaterials.Useamaskorrespiratorwheneverthereisachanceofinhaling
sprayedmaterials.Themaskmustbecompatiblewiththematerialbeingsprayedand
itsconcentration.
 
