STARTING THE INSTRUMENT
How to use the genesys xp as a stand alone unit
This chapter explains the use of the Genesys xp as a standing alone unit, taking care about the functions related with live
music playing.
Genesys xp block diagram
INTRODUCTION
To use Genesys xp live as a stand alone unit needs to be properly configured. The configuration includes these steps to
following:
The Genesys xp owns a structure very similar to a personal computer. It has a RAM memory where all data (operating system
and musical resource data) is loaded. This data is stored in the internal hard disk. The Genesys RAM memory is a backed
RAM memory type, this means that switching the instrument on and off the memory data will be preserved. The backing of
the memory is ensured by a back up battery, the recharge of this battery happens during the normal use of the the instrument.
The internal backup battery after a full charge has approx. one week of autonomy, after this time the internal memory data
will be erased and the instrument will reload the data from the hard disk.
WARNING: Please always back up first in the hard disk =in the CD any type of data you have
created in the instrument (set up, memoryes, preset, etc.).

In the same way it will be possible to use any other compatible support and music files.
