MISE EN GARDE
STORAGE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
These devices should be stored in an enclosed, dry and frost-protected location, away from the weather. They should not be
stacked any higher than the original factory packaging. They should be arranged to prevent damage to mechanisms of moving
parts, and to avoid deformations of the device body due to excess loads or humidity. Do not leave dampers exposed to direct
sunlight as this will cause premature ageing of the fuse.
PROTECTING THE EQUIPMENT DURING INSTALLATION
Although the fire damper, and more particularly its mechanism, is protected by a synthetic material cover, it should be
protected from projections of any kind (mortar, paint, sprayed cladding, etc.) that may affect the operation of the trip devices
and signalling devices.
The equipment should also be protected against the risk of water run-off or high condensation, both for the refractory part and
the metal parts, or electromagnetic components.
The airtight intumsecent seals are primordial for the damper's fire resistance, so any mechanical actions on the refractory
parts should be avoided.
All suitable precautions should be taken to prevent premature ageing of the equipment before it is put into service on completed
installations.
Wedging and filling in order to seal devices in place correctly should not cause deformations likely to adversely affect the
operation of the fire damper.
INSPECTION OF THE EQUIPMENT PRIOR TO INSTALLATION COMMISSIONING
Dampers should be maintained in mechanical standby position before the ventilation systems are effectively put into service,
so as not to apply forces to the retention devices or trip devices until the normal operating conditions are met.

ACTIVATION
The labelling informs you of the various options available for the damper.
TRIGGERING
- Manually: actuating the white lever on the side, without removing the cover.
- Automatically controlled: any temperature above 70°C trips the fuse mounted on all ISONE
+
(obligation under
NF S 61-937-5 and NF EN 1366-2).
- Remotely: depending on the initial choice of type of dual-voltage electromagnet, the making or breaking of a current
circuit (24 or 48 Vdc) will trigger the damper to move to its 'safe' position.
RESET
With the damper in its 'safe' position (closed), it can be reset either:
- manually, using a screwdriver without removing the cover,
- remotely, by energizing the reset motor. The motor stops automatically once the maximum torque level has been
reached. It is recommended that you disconnect the power supply to the motor after 30 seconds.
INDICATORS
The closed position contacts (FCU) indicate the safety position of the damper (i.e. closed), the open position contacts
(DCU) indicate the standby position (open).
These contacts are illustrated as inactive, use the NO terminals on the contacts (1 & 3, 4 & 6, 11 & 13, 14
and16) to close a signalling circuit (or light indicator lamps for example).

CONNECTIONS TO AERAULIC DUCTWORK
MECHANISM POSITION
The two metal sleeves on the circular ISONE + have male connections and are fitted with a stop ring to position
the female duct with ease. The damper should not support any forces exerted by the ducts.
A "leaktight seal" kit is available for all circular ISONE + to make installation easier.
The sleeves should be attached without mechanical pressure and should enable perfect alignment of the ducts
with the damper.
Depending on the dimensions of the damper, the mobile blade may require clearance in the duct.
The blade axis on ISONE+ dampers may be horizontal or vertical, so the positioning of the mechanism box is unimportant.
Note: the mechanism box must remain accessible after installing the damper. Ensure an inspection hatch is installed.

The opening must be planned to accommodate the dimensions stated in the previous pages. The minimum opening for
each Isone + EM or FdP diameter is given on page 4.
The sealing is simplified due to the offset mechanism of the firewall. The ISONE
+
EM and FdP dampers
are sealed with standard mortar (mortar for aerated concrete will be used for an aerated concrete support wall).
• 110 mm CONCRETE WALL OR 150 mm AERATED CONCRETE WALL
150 mm CONCRETE SLAB OR 150 mm AERATED CONCRETE SLAB
The damper is installed in a slab by simply sealing with traditional mortar (or for aerated concrete). There is no need
for additional fixing or suspension.
The damper is sealed with its mechanism against the slab; it can be positioned either on the surface or on the
underside of the floor.

MAINTENANCE
- Take all suitable precautions for performing work on the mechanism of a rotating mechanism that features gears and
powerful springs.
- As all the elements should be powered using Very Low Safety Voltage, earthing is not necessary. We recommend that
work be done with power off, to prevent short circuits that may damage the device.
- The cover protecting the mechanism must be replaced in the correct position after each time it is removed.
- Depending on the type of building, periodical test manoeuvres are planned (see NFS 61-933). We recommend a
minimum of one annual manoeuvre inspection.
