Network setup:
To use the BBC iPlayer a network connection must be achieved. This can only
be done with a wired connection via the rear Ethernet port.
Confirmation of connection can be done through the Network Setup menu,
which can be launched by:
• Press the MENU button to display the “Viera Main Menu”
• Select “Setup Menu” and press OK
• Select “Link Settings” and press OK

Connect to the Broadband network
Please note: From TV switch on it will take approximately 30 seconds for the
network connection to be made. Until the network connection has been made
BBC iPlayer will not be available

Changing the PARENTAL CONTROL settings for iPlayer:
There are three different settings for BBC iPlayer parental control:
• Unlock
•With this setting selected you will not be required to enter your 4 digit
child lock PIN when viewing BBC iPlayer content. However, you will be
asked to confirm you are over 16 years of age when wishing to view
content which is signalled as “Guidance” (i.e. originally broadcast post
watershed)
• Lock Guidance Content
• With this setting selected you will be asked to enter your 4 digit child
lock PIN whenever you wish to watch iPlayer content which is signalled
as “Guidance”
• Lock All Content
• With this setting selected you will be asked to enter your 4 digit child
lock PIN every time you wish to watch iPlayer content

Setting the 4 digit child lock PIN number
Launching the Child Lock menu:
• Press the MENU button to display the “Viera Main Menu”
• Select “Setup Menu” and press OK
• Select “Child Lock” and press OK

Setting the 4 digit child lock PIN number
Entering a 4 digit child lock PIN:
• If this is the first time you have selected the Child Lock menu you will be
asked to enter a 4 digit PIN number of your choice. Once this PIN number has
been entered you will be asked to confirm it by entering the same PIN number
again
• If a PIN number has previously been set, you will be asked to enter the same
PIN in order to enter the Child Lock menu

Changing the iPlayer PARENTAL CONTROL settings
• Select the “freesat Players” option in the Child Lock menu
• Use the left/right cursor keys to change the available options (Unlock, Lock
Guidance Content, Lock All Content)
• Settings are automatically stored, so once the desired setting has been
selected use the EXIT key to exit the menu and return to normal viewing mode
Additionally, the Child Lock PIN number can be changed by selecting the
“Change PIN” option and pressing the OK key. You will then be asked to
enter and confirm a new 4 digit PIN number.
