Daikin IM 1316 Outside Airflow Sensor Kit precisely measures and transmits outside airflow in cubic feet per minute (CFM) for use with Daikin unit controllers. It features a compact airflow sensor probe with a direct-mount design for easy installation and maintenance. The sensor enclosure protects the components from harsh environments, and the included conduit bushing provides a secure connection to the controller. Installation

All wiring must comply with the National Electric Code

(NEC) and local codes. Do NOT run any of this device’s

wiring in the same conduit as other AC power wiring.

Tests show that uctuating and inaccurate signal levels

are possible when AC power wiring is present in the

same conduit as the signal lines. If you are experiencing

any of these difculties, please contact your Daikin

representative.

1. Remove all components from the packaging and

conrm all pieces have been received.

2. Assemble the sensor enclosure as show in Figure 1.

3. Attach sensor assembly to lter inlet frame as shown

in Figure 2.

4. Attach sensor wires from Monitor/Transmitter to

sensor probe tubes as shown in Figure 3.

5. Route wiring harness from mating CFM/IHS molex plug to the monitor/transmitter, (Figure 4).

6. Connect the wires from the wire harness to the monitor/transmitter terminals as follows: Refer to Figure 5

• Green wire (CFM11-GN) to the POWER 24VAC IN : L1 connection

• Black wire (CFM12-BK) to the POWER 24VAC IN : L2 connection

• Red wire (CFM13-RD) to the OUTPUT : 1 connection

• Install the 3" black wire (CFMJP) between the POWER 24VAC IN: L2 and OUTPUT: COM connections

Conguration

1. Set the power switch to ON.

2. Set transmitter SW1 to VDC

3. Set transmitter to display in ACFM by selecting

SETUP > ANALOG OUT > *AO1 UM=AFPM

Change to AO1 UM = ACFM

Programming

To enable use of this sensor the following congura-

tion point must be changed. Changes can be made

through the local user interface or through the Service

Tools software for Microtech® Unit Controllers program

on a connected PC. For information on how to use the

ServiceTools software, refer to OM 732. The local user

interface menu path is shown below.

• To enable Outdoor Air Flow measuring go to

Service > Serv-AnaIn > Serv-AnaIn-Cong >

CFgAnIn16 and change the value from None to

OAFLOW. Then go to SET > Set-SensorInstall >

OAFlowSens and conrm that it is set to ‘Inst’.

If using the ServiceTools software, change the unit con-

guration as follows:

• To enable Space Temperature sensing, go to the

‘Conguration’ menu and under the ‘Inputs’ drop

down change ‘Analog Input 16’ to ‘Outside Air

Flow’. Conrm that under the ‘Sensor Installation’

drop down, ‘Outside Air Flow’ is ‘Installed’.

Click the Save button after making changes so they

take effect. ServiceTools prompts you to save if you are

switching to another screen without saving.
