1.Loosen the clamp nut on the side of the linkage with the boot seal that you intend to replace. Remove the ball stud
nut from the tie rod or drag link end with the damaged boot seal and remove the ball stud from the knuckle/
pitman arm. If you plan to use a bench vice, you can now un-thread the TRE from the adjuster sleeve.
2. Remove the damaged boot seal using a hammer and flat screwdriver as shown below.
3. Generously grease the inside of the new boot seal - this will aid in getting the boot to slip onto the TRE

4. Using a 1.5 piece of PVC or a 1-5/16" socket (or a socket/pcv similar in size - it needs to fit on the outside edge of the
boot seal), make sure the inside portion that will be in contact with the boot seal is clean and free of any sharp edges or
burrs that could potentially tear the seal. This piece to go over the boot seal and contact the outside edge of the new boot
to help press it onto the TRE. Depending on the length of the stud, you can either use a wide washer that will fit over the
top of the PVC and a nut, or, you can use a bench vice or c-clamp. You will also want a socket to fit over the zerk fitting so
that you don't crush it.
* Note - if using PVC w/ washers & nut or a C-Clamp then you don't have to take the TRE out of the adjuster.

Once the replacement seal has been instsalled, you can now thread the tie rod or drag link end back into the linkage (if it
was removed for install) and then reinstall the linkage and torque the nut to the Yeti XD linkage installation mandated
torque specs.
4. Press the boot seal on until the pads just begin to touch the machined face as shown below. Do not over compress the boot
seal as that will disallow the proper grease purging.
