INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT!
Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning installation. When you complete the installation, put this
instruction with operator’s manual in the bag on the vehicle. These instructions alert you to certain things you
should do very carefully, if you don’t, you could: hurt yourself or bystanders, hurt the next person who
operates the equipment, or damage the accessory or the vehicle it is used on.
This “HAZARD” symbol is used to alert you to information about unsafe actions or situations, and will
be followed by the word DANGER, WARNING, or CAUTION. Used with the word DANGER it will describe
immediate hazards that may result in severe personal injury or death. With the word WARNING it will
describe unsafe actions or situations that may cause severe injury, death and/or major equipment or property
damage. With the word CAUTION it will describe unsafe actions or situations that may cause injury, and/or
minor equipment or property damage.
This NOTICE symbol is used to alert you to information that describes procedures or tips that will
help you install, operate and maintain you equipment.
GRASS BOX KIT PARTS AND FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

• Before beginning, read through this instruction manual and familiarise yourself with all the
parts in the Fitting Kit and the steps for proper installation.
• The left or right side or the machine will always be determined from the operating position.
• Check the grass boxes frequently for wear or deterioration.
CAUTION
When fitting the kit stop the engine and make sure all moving parts are stationary. Apply breaks and
disengage all drives.
Keep all parts of the body away from the cutting edge.
Keep other people away from the cutting units as rotation of one cylinder can cause the others to
rotate.
Never work on the cutting units in the transport position. Always lower the units before starting work.

d) Secure the yoke stop to the INSIDE of the unit frame. It locates on the same bolts that secure the
height of cut fine adjuster mechanism which will need replacing with the M6 x 30 bolts supplied
with the kit.
d) Raise the concave at the rear of the cutting unit to allow the grass to move out of the rear of the
unit. The profile of the rear box may need to be altered to ensure that it is clear of the concave.
CENTRE UNIT
a) Remove the two anchor plates that join the chain to the cutting unit body.
b) Using the same bolts replace the anchor plates with the rear brackets as shown.
Reattach the chain as before.
c) Fit the rear buffer around the bracket holding the rear roller.
Use the existing fixings where ever possible.

Check the orientation of the solenoids.
The solenoids are located under the left side of the
machine.
Both connectors MUST be orientated
downwards as shown.
If not, then rotate the solenoid by hand until the
correct position is achieved.
FITTING TO THE REAR UNIT

REFITTING CUTTING UNIT TO LIFT ARM
a) Locate the unit by the lift arm pivot shaft.
b) Move unit and shaft to engage lift pivot shaft.
c) Replace the washer, lockwasher and M12 x 30 screws.
d) Torque screw to 93 Nm (68.6 lbf ft)
REMOVING THE OLD YOKE
a) First remove thecutting unit from the power unit. Remove the pivot shaft from the lift arm by
removing the 2 M12 x 30 screws and move the unit clear.
b) Remove the pivot shaft from the yoke by removing the collar and withdraw the pivot shaft from the
yoke.
c). Remove the support cable or strap from the top of the yoke.
d). Remove the pivot bolt at the bottom of the yoke and remove the old yoke.
FITTING THE NEW YOKE
The fitting procedure is the reverse of the procedure above.

On some old machines there can be limited clearence between the box on the centre unit and the rear wheel. If
you are unhappy with the clerence on your machine then you should order the optional yoke for the central unit.
This yoke moves the central unit forwards, away from the rear wheel, by 20mm giving greater clearence.

FITTING THE REAR BOX
a) Slide the box in from one side and locate the
hole on the box on the peg opposite.
b) Pull back the remaining peg and swing the
box into place

Check the box is secure before
