1.2 Machine Description and Intended Use
The HI 770XHD Heaters are indirect-fired air heaters available in oil (diesel)
burning models. The machine consists of the following components:
â–  Combustion chamber and heat exchanger
â–  Centrifugal blower
â–  Single-stage burner
â–  High-temperature shut-down switch(es)
â–  Fuel tank
â–  Trailer
â–  Generator
Fuel is consumed in a closed combustion chamber. Outside air is pulled in by the
centrifugal blower and blown over the hot heat exchanger. This clean, dry, hot air is
then blown into the space to be heated by the centrifugal blower.
The HI 770XHD Heaters are intended to provide heat on construction sites and in
other rugged applications.
This machine has been designed and built strictly for the intended use described
above. Using the machine for any other purpose could permanently damage the
machine or seriously injure the operator or other persons on the work site. Machine
damage caused by misuse is not covered under warranty.
This machine has been designed and built in accordance with the latest global
safety standards. It has been carefully engineered to eliminate hazards as far as
practicable, and to increase operator safety through protective guards and labeling.
However, some risks may remain even after protective measures have been taken.
They are called residual risks. On this machine, they may include exposure to:
â–  exhaust emissions
â–  hot surfaces such as exhaust vents
â–  fuel and fuel fumes when refueling
â–  high voltages and arc flash
To protect yourself and others, thoroughly read and understand the safety
information presented in this manual before operating the machine.
Wacker Neuson offers many optional accessories for the machine. These
accessories include the following: (Contact your Wacker Neuson dealer for more
information.)
â–  Duct adapters (various sizes)
â–  Duct hose

personnel to operate or service the generator.
â–  Check the fuel lines and the fuel tank for leaks and cracks before starting the
engine.
â–  Clean the generator of any spilled fuel.
DANGER
Carbon monoxide. Using a generator indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES. Gen-
erator exhaust contains carbon monoxide (CO). This is a poison you cannot see or
smell. If you can smell the generator exhaust, you are breathing CO. But even if
you cannot smell the exhaust, you could be breathing CO.
