28mm Retro Data Storage #3
B28-SF-246
Please read these instructions fully before starting construction.
PVA or equivalent glue will be required to stick sections together.
Sand paper can be used to gently clean any joints.
A sharp modelling knife will be required to remove sections from the sprue. Please use knives with due care and
remember to cut away from yourself at all times.
During the construction of this model, you may find it convenient to use pegs / elastic bands to hold pieces in
place while you allow glue to dry.
Take the pieces which make up the rear of the cabinet.
Glue them together as shown to make an open
fronted box.
Stick the support bars into place.
We now suggest you paint
the components of
your model (see below)
Attach the front of the cabinet.
Glue the reels into position.
Glue the front facia plate into place.
Painting
We sprayed the body of the cabinet black while the facia plate and reels were sprayed white both with car undercoat
primer spray.
The details on the control panel and facia plate were then picked out with model paints, using a random pattern for the
lights.
