2. Menu structure
1. AP config
Wireless network configuration which will be used by the printer.
1A. Scan
Start searching for accesible WiFi networks. Here it's possible to select desired
network used by Printer.
1B. SSID
It's possible here to manually enter desired wireless network name (SSID)
1C. Security
If WiFi network is secured, here it's possible to choose security type and enter
required credentials (password)

Printer IP address configuration
2A. DHCP
Standard way the Printer is configured is getting IP adress from DHCP server.
If IP address of Printer should be configured manually it's required to press
ENTER here and follow through 2.B – 2.F

Enter network gateway
2E. DNS1
Enter IP address of primary DNS server

4. Tariff Config
Tariff configuration, which willl be applied to HotSpot customers.
4A. Patterns
Common prefixes used by system.One is needed to recognize template records in
Tariff section of Mikrotik configuration. The other one is used by system to
prepending every username generated by printer with this string.
- „Pattern:” - string for tariff prefix
- „User:” - string for user prefix
4B. Fetch Tariff
Using this option Printer will download template tariffs from Mikrotik device
4C. Change order
There is possible to change the order in which tariffs are displayed on the printer
screen. Choose one tariff using navigation buttons (2), then press function button
(5) and againg using (2) move seleted tariff to required position and press (5).
Repeat this scenario to other tariffs as required. To confirm new order press Enter
button (7) and when confirmation question is shown press it (7) again.
5. Custom config
In this section it's possible to define some custom setting like logo, header & footer
printed on each ticket, and additionally access password for config section of
Printer menu.
Logo is a graphic file saved as monochromatic picture in BMP format. Maximum
and recommended size of this picture is 384X192 pixels.
Header & Footer are text files. All files can be downloaded from FTP server.

Enter IP Address of FTP server
5B. User
User name used for FTP server access
5C. Password
Password used for FTP server access
5D. Charset
Charset code which should be used for header&footer printing.
5E. Download file
Option used for downloading each element form FTP server and storing in Printer
internal memory. The proper name of each file must be provided.
5F. Show file
Display of each file downloaded form FTP – for veritication
5G. Delete file
Option used for deleting each file
5I. Menu PIN
Enter access password for printer menu (digits only).
3. Configuration description
In order to have Printer working with Mikrotik HotSpot, some configuration steps
are required on Mikrotik side.
Configuration for Mikrotik:
1. User Manager package must be instaled.
2. Start HotSpot Service
3. API service must be Enabled: IP → Services → API
4. If Printer will connect to Mikrotik HotSpot using the same WiFi network as
customers (HotSpot network), then MAC Address of the Printer should be
added to the HotSpot IP Bindings: IP → HotSpot → IP Bindings to assure
communictation with Mikrotik device.
Attention: Printer works in 802.11b mode only.
Configuration for HotSpot printer:
1. Press MENU button to enter into configuration menu
2. In AP CONFIG set the name of access point
3. In IP CONFIG set IP address for HotSpot printer (default is DHCP)
4. In MT CONFIG set IP Address and password from Mikrotik with installed
user manager
5. In TARIFF CONFIG setup tariffs for HotSpot.
In UserManager setup a template user with appropriate tariff. They have to be
disabled! (disable = yes). New user is created by copying permissions from
template user. The name of every template user must start with the same word (as
described in 4.A. Patterns section)
Some examples:
mytariff-hour, mytariff-day, mytariff-week
In 4.A. Patterns menu section set:
Patterns: mytariff
- in „User” set the name of user which will be created on HotSpot Printer
Example: „User”: user
Created user is: user8948
In FETCH TARIFF menu the HotSpot Printer read the tariff (model user) from
MikroTik user manager.
After this configuration you will see in main menu the tariffs from your HotSpot.
4. Installing new software
To installing a new software on the HotSpot printer you have to do following steps:
1. Connect Printer to PC using included serial cable
2. Boot up HotSpot Printer and immediately press repeatedly MENU button to
enter Diagnostic Menu
3. On computer start InitTool software (you can it download from:
www.hotspot-printer.com)
4. In InitTool software select COM port and set bautrate to 115200 (as shown
on picture below):
5. Press Refresh button to change the model of printer from unknown to
NEW8110 (as shown on picture above)
6. Check APP option and select file with a new software for the printer
and press Download button.
On status bar at bottom of InitTools software you will see Download
Successfully and on printers screen you will see Send Appinfo, OK
7. Press Cancel (10) button on HotSpot Printer keypad to exit from
Diagnostic MENU and start new firmware.
5. Set time and date
To set time adn date on the HotSpot printer you have to do following steps:
1. Boot up HotSpot Printer and immediately press repeatedly MENU (4) button
to enter Diagnostic Menu
2. Press right menu navigation button (2)
3. From menu select: 4-Set Time
4. Using only digits button write a new date and time in format:
YYMMDDHHMMSS
after the two digit for:
YY – year
MM – month
DD – day
HH – hour
MM – minute
SS - second
5. Press enter (7) button to save the changes
6. Press Cancel (10) button on HotSpot Printer keypad to exit from
Diagnostic MENU and start printer's firmware.
6. Restore to default setting
To installing a new software on the HotSpot printer you have to do following steps:
1. Connect Printer to PC using included serial cable
2. Boot up HotSpot Printer and immediately press repeatedly MENU button to
enter Diagnostic Menu
3. On computer start InitTool software (you can it download from:
www.hotspot-printer.com)
4. In InitTool software select COM port and set bautrate to 115200 (as shown
on picture below):
5. Press Refresh button to change the model of printer from unknown to
NEW8110 (as shown on picture above)
6. In POS Information section click on Application Information, then
click on TLGMTPOS and press Delete button (as shown on picture
below )
7. Now, you must load to the printer a new software. See section 4
