3. Configuration description
In order to have Printer working with Mikrotik HotSpot, some configuration steps
are required on Mikrotik side.
Configuration for Mikrotik:
1. User Manager package must be instaled.
2. Start HotSpot Service
3. API service must be Enabled: IP → Services → API
4. If Printer will connect to Mikrotik HotSpot using the same WiFi network as
customers (HotSpot network), then MAC Address of the Printer should be
added to the HotSpot IP Bindings: IP → HotSpot → IP Bindings to assure
communictation with Mikrotik device.
Attention: Printer works in 802.11b mode only.
Configuration for HotSpot printer:
1. Press MENU button to enter into configuration menu
2. In AP CONFIG set the name of access point
3. In IP CONFIG set IP address for HotSpot printer (default is DHCP)
4. In MT CONFIG set IP Address and password from Mikrotik with installed
user manager
5. In TARIFF CONFIG setup tariffs for HotSpot.
In UserManager setup a template user with appropriate tariff. They have to be
disabled! (disable = yes). New user is created by copying permissions from
template user. The name of every template user must start with the same word (as
described in 4.A. Patterns section)
Some examples:
mytariff-hour, mytariff-day, mytariff-week
In 4.A. Patterns menu section set:
Patterns: mytariff
- in „User” set the name of user which will be created on HotSpot Printer
