appliance has been designed and manufactured to high standards of engineering
and with proper use and care, as described in this leaflet, will give you years of
useful service. Please read these instructions carefully and keep them safely for
future reference.
General care and safety guide
NEVER
Never use this appliance outdoors.
Never use this appliance for any purpose
other than its intended use. This appliance is
intended for household use only or in similar
applications such as:
Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and
other working environments;
Farm houses
By clients in hotels, motels and other
residential type environments;
Bed and breakfast type environments.
This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge, unless they are
supervised or have been given instruction
concerning the use of the Drip Coffee Maker by
a person responsible for their safety.
Close supervision is necessary when the
appliance is near children.
Never leave the appliance unattended when
in use.
Never allow the power cord to overhang the
edge of a table or bench top or to touch any
hot surface.
Never operate on an incline.
Never place this appliance on or near a hot
gas or electric burner or where it could touch a
heated oven or microwave oven. Do not place
in a hot oven.
Never immerse the Drip Coffee Maker, the
cord set or plug in water or any other liquid to
protect against electrical hazards.
Never place the Drip Coffee Maker in a
dishwasher.
Never use harsh, abrasive or caustic
cleaners to clean this appliance. Such cleaners
may damage the non-stick coating.
Never operate the appliance with a
damaged cord or plug, after it malfunctions, or
if it has been damaged in any manner. Have
the appliance checked and repaired by a
qualified electrician if repair is necessary.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent
or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a
hazard.
The Drip Coffee Maker is not intended to be
operated by means of an external timer or
separate remote-control system. The use of an
extension cord is not recommended.
Never use metal scouring pads for cleaning.
Small metal pieces can come loose and cause
short-circuiting of electrical components, which
can cause electric shock or damage the
appliance.
ALWAYS
Always ensure hands are dry before
handling the plug or the Drip Coffee Maker.
Always operate the Drip Coffee Maker in the
middle of a secure, dry, level surface.
Always be sure to set to „off‟ and unplug
from the socket when not in use and before
cleaning.
Always allow the Drip Coffee Maker to cool
before cleaning and storing.

to ensure no damage is evident.
Return the Drip Coffee Maker after a
malfunction, or if it has been damaged in any
manner, to an authorised electrical service

always exercise caution.

Before First Use
Remove any manufacturing residues by
cleaning the unit:
1. Fill unit to MAX with water
2. Operate unit until all water has
dripped through
3. Discard this water
This Drip Coffee Maker is designed for use
with water only.
DO NOT put milk, liquid coffee or other
liquids into the unit‟s water reservoir.
DO NOT plug in unit before you add water.
To avoid damage to the unit, NEVER turn
on the appliance with an empty water
reservoir.
This unit has a pre-set water level with
minimum level at “MIN” and maximum level
at “MAX”. It is important that you do not
operate the unit with less water than the
MIN level or more water than the MAX
level.
This unit DOES NOT have an anti-drip
function. DO NOT remove coffee cups
during operation or coffee will drip out.
Unplug the product after use.
TO MAKE COFFEE
1. DO NOT turn unit on at wall or on unit
until after water is added.
2. Place filter into the filter funnel in top
of unit.
3. Add medium ground coffee -
approx.6g per cup.
4. Fill water reservoir with required
quantity of water.
5. Close upper cover.
6. Place cups into position.
7. Turn on at wall then turn on switch on
unit; the indicator light will turn on.
8. Drip Coffee Maker will commence
operation.
9. As soon as the coffee has finished
dripping through, turn off the unit and
unplug it.
10. Should you need to open the lid while
the unit is on, disconnect power and
wait a moment before opening lid.
Temperature Control Safety Device
If the appliance is “ON” without water or
after it has finished brewing coffee, the
temperature will increase to a point before
the temperature control device cuts off the
power automatically. Unplug the device at
once.
Thermal Fuse Safety Device
This appliance is equipped with a second
safety device in case of Temperature
Control Safety Device malfunction. The
Thermal Fuse Safety Device will cut off the
power. Unplug the appliance at once. The
unit will not function again if the Thermal
Fuse Safety Device is activated.

Care and cleaning
Unplug the product after each use.
Clean the filter and filter funnel with water
after the unit cools down.
Clean the other parts with a dry cloth then
store the unit at a proper location.
If your local water supply is hard water,
please descale the appliance at least once
a month.
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the appliance do
not use alkaline cleaning agents when
cleaning; use a soft cloth and mild
detergent.
TO DESCALE:
1. Add descaler to the water reservoir
and add water to MAX level.
2. Leave to stand for 5 minutes.
3. Turn on the Drip Coffee Maker and run
water only (without coffee) through the
machine.
4. Repeat from Step 1 once more.
WARNING:
This appliance generates heat during
use. Proper precautions must be taken
to prevent the risk of burns, fires, or
other injury to persons or damage to
property.
Your Goldair product has been inspected and
tested and is guaranteed subject to the
following for a period to two years from the
date of purchase against defects in
workmanship and materials. During this
period, such defects will be rectified by repair
or replacement of the product purchased.
Your product contains no user serviceable
components and this warranty becomes
invalid if in our opinion the product has been
misused, abused, incorrectly installed,
tampered with, connected to an electrical
supply not corresponding with the name plate
specification, or subjected to power surges.
The warranty does not include any labour or
other associated expense that may be
involved in removal or installation of the
product. Normal wear and tear is expressly
excluded.
If your Goldair product fails to operate
satisfactorily, please return it to the retailer
from whom it was purchased. To obtain a
repair or replacement product under this
warranty, you will need to produce satisfactory
evidence of date of purchase. The completed
warranty and purchase receipt must be
presented with the product. The warranty
should be filled out at the time of purchase. It
is in your interest to make sure this is done.
If the product is to be replaced (cannot be
repaired) then that replacement will be of the
same or similar product or accessory
excluding packaging, instruction card etc.
Where a replacement product is supplied, this
shall be guaranteed for the balance of the
original warranty period.
Any model that is no longer available will be
replaced by a model of a value and with such
features as we consider appropriate in the
circumstances. Goldair Ltd is not responsible
for freight forwarding charges, losses or
damage in transit.
If service is required after the warranty period
has expired, the product should be returned to
a qualified electrical technician. Service
outside of the warranty period will be at your
cost.
Consumers Guarantee Act (1993).
In accordance with the above act consumers
are advised that: The manufacturer does not
undertake that repair facilities and parts are
necessarily available for this product.
If any of the provisions of the foregoing are
contrary to any relevant legislation, then that
provision shall be deemed to be excluded from
the warranty and the rest of the provisions will
continue to apply.
