velocityviatheattachedminivanesensorinunitsofm/s,fpm,mph,kph,andknots.Thelarge,
easytoreadbacklitLCDdisplaysmeasurementreadingsandstatusindicators.Thisdeviceis
shippedfullytestedandcalibrated
and,withproperuse,willprovideyearsofreliableservice.

Safety
Theprobeextendingfromthetopofthemeterhousesthesensitiveairvelocityva ne sensor,
donotmishandle,shock,orallowliquidstocomeintocontactwithit.
Theprobesensorcancausepersonalinjuryifitismisusedormishandled.Usecautionwhen
handlingthisdevice.
Donotallowchildrentohandlethisdeviceortheaccessoriesand packingmaterialssupplied
withit.
Themeterusesa9Vbattery(installedintherearbatterycompartment).Pleaseremovethe
batteryfromthemeterifthemeterisnottobeusedforalongperiodoftime.Spent
batteriesthatremaininthemetercouldpotentiallyleakandcausedamagetothemeter.

Power
PressthePower buttontoswitchthemeterONorOFF.IfthemeterdoesnotswitchON
whenprompted,checkthatafresh9Vbatteryisinstalledcorrectlyintherearbattery
compartment.
AirVelocityMeasurements
1. SwitchthemeterONusingthepowerbutton.
2. Holdtheprobesothattheairentersthevanefromtherearofthemeter.
3. ReadtheairvelocitymeasurementsontheLCD.
Unitsselection
1. SwitchthemeterON.
2. PressandholdtheMAXAVGbuttonfor2seconds.
3. Theunitofmeasurewillsteptothenextunitofmeasureonthelistbelow
4. Repeatstep3untilthedesiredunitofmeasureisselected.

2. PresstheMAXAVGbuttonagaintodisplay
theaverageofallairvelocityreading s(AVG)
takensincethemeterwasswitchedON.TheAVGiconwillappearatthetopoftheLCD.
3. PresstheMAXAVGbuttonagaintoswitchthedisplaybacktorealtimemeasurementmode.
TheMAXandAVGiconswillswitch
OFF.
4. Toresettherecordhistory,switchthemeterOFFthenbackONagain.
LCDBacklight
TheLCDbacklightswitchesONautomaticallywhentheambientlightdimsbelowthethreshold.
TheambientlightsensorislocateddirectlyabovetheLCDwindow.Totestthebacklight,cover
theambientlightsensorandtheLCDbacklightshouldimmediatelyswitchON.

Maintenance
Cleaningandstorage
1. Meterhousingonly:Cleanwithadampclothandmilddetergentwhennecessary.Donotuse
solventsorabrasives.
2. Donotattempttointroduceliquidintothevaneareawhencleaning.
3. Storethemeterinanareawithmoderatetemperatureandhumidity.
BatteryReplacement
ThebatterysymbolappearsontheLCDwhenthe9Vbatteryneedstobereplaced.
Replacethe9Vbatteryasfollows:
1. SwitchthemeterOFFifnecessary.
2. Removetherearbatterycompartmentcoverbyslidingthecompartmentcoverdownward.
3. Replacethe9Vbatterycarefully.
4. Situateandstow
theredandblackwiresoverthetopofthebatterysothatthebatterycan
fitcorrectlyandsothatthecompartmentcanclosecorrectly.Usecautiontoavoidcrimping
thewireswhenclosingthecompartmentcover.
5. Alwaysreassemblethemeterbeforeoperating.
Neverdisposeofusedbatteriesorrechargeablebatteriesinhouseholdwaste.
Asconsumers,usersarelegallyrequiredtotakeusedbatteriestoappropriate
collectionsites,theretailstorewhere thebatterieswerepurchased,orwherever
batteriesaresold.
Disposal:Donotdisposeofthisinstrumentinhouseholdwaste.Theuseris
obligatedtotakeendoflifedevicestoadesignatedcollectionpointforthedisposal
ofelectricalandelectronicequipment.
OtherBatterySafetyReminders
o Neverdisposeofbatteriesinafire.Batteriesmayexplodeorleak.
o Nevermixbatterytypes.Alwaysinstallnewbatteriesofthesametype.
