WARNINGS
Hydraulic pumps manufactured by Cembre S.p.A. are developed for use with crimping or cutting
heads. According to this speci c use, they do not need and are not equipped with an oil non-return
safety system.
For this reason, use in applications di erent from those intended (for example with hydraulic jacks,
lifting systems or similar) can be dangerous for the operator.
Cembre S.p.A. does not accept any liability arising from the use of its hydraulics pumps for ap-
plications di erent from those listed in its catalogues or other documentation.
Do not use the pump for purposes other than those intended by Cembre.
The operator should concentrate on the work being performed and be careful to maintain a bal-
anced working position.
Do not build up pressure if the pump is not connected to the  exible hose and the head as this may
damage the pump quick coupler, precipitating oil seepage.
High pressure flexible hoses are subject to a natural ageing process which can result in a reduction
in performance potentially affecting safety of the operator. As a result their life span is limited.
In order to ensure safe use of their units, Cembre recommends replacing the hose within 10
years from the date printed on the fittings.
Keep the pump and  exible hose away from naked  ames and sources of heat above 70°C.
Before using the pump always check the integrity of the  exible hose and the quick couplers making
sure there are no abrasions, cuts, deformations or swellings.
The factory  tted guards must be in place at each end of the  exible hose.
Do not touch the  exible hose when under pressure.
When using the pump, the  exible hose must be uncoiled and laid out straight.
Before disconnecting the  exible hose, check that the ram of the head is completely retracted, ensure
a su cient quantity of oil for subsequent operations.
The pump is unsuitable for continuous use and should be allowed to cool down following uninter-
rupted, successive crimping operations; for instance, having exhausted a fully charged battery in
one session, delay battery replacement for a few minutes.
Protect the pump from rain and moisture. Water will damage the pump and battery.
Electro-hydraulic tools should not be operated in pouring rain.

2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The part reference includes the following:
Hydraulic battery pump.
Flexible hose 900 mm (35.4 inch).
Li-Ion rechargeable battery (1 pc).
Battery charger (model depends on the pump version).
Shoulder strap.
Plastic carrying case.
USB cable (See page 31).
2.1) Preparation
The pump can be easily carried using either the main handle (10) or the shoulder strap attached
to the two rings (7) (Ref. to Fig. 4).
The main operating positions are: horizontal standing on its feet and vertical standing on its bat-
tery. In addition to the main handle (10) the lower handle (6) allows a safer and more balanced grip
when using two hands to hold the pump (Ref. to Fig. 2).
Before starting any work, check the battery charge (Ref. to § 2.5) and recharge if necessary,
following the instructions in the battery charger user manual.
To replace the battery, grip the pump as illustrated in Figure 1; press the release button (9) and
push the battery downward to unlock it.
Insert a charged battery from the bottom by sliding it into the guides until it locks.
Connect the  exible hose to the female coupler (4) on the pump, and to the male coupler on the
hydraulic head (see Fig. 3).
IMPORTANT: Never connect to a pump hydraulic heads that still contains oil, namely with
the ram not fully retracted; excess oil could cause the pump to malfunction.
2.2) Operation
Press operating button (1) to activate the motor and pump oil to
the hydraulic head.
When the operating pressure is achieved, the pump stops automati-
cally and oil pressure is maintained.
If the operating button (1) is released before the motor stops au-
tomatically, the pump maintains the oil pressure at the achieved
level. To complete the operating cycle, press and hold the opera-
ting button.
When a crimping head is used, press and hold the operating button (1) until the motor
stops automatically.
1

ENGLISH
2.3) Oil release
By operating the pressure release button (2), the ram of the con-
nected head retracts and the oil returns to the reservoir.
IMPORTANT: Before disconnecting the  exible hose, hold
the release button (2) depressed until the ram of the head
is fully retracted.
2.4) LED Worklights
While the pump is in operation, two high luminosity LED worklights switch on and switch o au-
tomatically at the end of the cycle.
2.5) Battery status
The battery is equipped with LED indicators that indicate the
remaining battery life at any time by pressing the adjacent
button (P):
4 LEDs illuminated: fully charged
2 LEDs illuminated: 50 % capacity
1 LED flashing: minimum charge, replace the battery
Worklights illuminated combined with an alarm audible when the operating button (1) is
pressed, indicate that the battery voltage has dropped below a minimum safety threshold;
under these conditions the tool will not start, and it is necessary to recharge or replace the
battery.
The approximate time to fully recharge a battery is about 80 minutes.
After each working cycle, and after the extraction of the battery from the pump, an inte-
grated battery cut-o device will operate after 70 s approx.
Then the LED nearest to button (P) will  ash 5 times every 14 s approx. The battery will be
reactivated when it is reintroduced into the pump and the operating button is pressed.
2.6) Using the battery charger
Carefully follow the instructions in the battery charger user manual.
3. MAINTENANCE
The pump is robust, completely sealed, and requires very little daily maintenance. Compliance with
the following points, should help to maintain its optimum performance:
3.1) Thorough cleaning
Dust, sand and dirt are a danger for any hydraulic device.
Every day, after use, the pump must be wiped with a clean cloth taking care to remove any residue.
Do not use Hydrocarbons to clean the rubber parts.
2
P
9
ENGLISH
After use, protect the couplers of the pump, hose and hydraulic head with their protective
caps to prevent contamination.
3.2) Storage case (Fig. 6)
When not in use, the pump should be stored and transported in the plastic case, to prevent damage.
The case, type VAL P51, is suitable for storing the pump and accessories.
Val P51: Size 690x446x179 mm (27.2x17.5x7 inches). Weight 5,5 kg (12.1 lbs).
3.3) Routine maintenance
When the pump reaches the predetermined number of hours worked, it will signal that routine
maintenance is recommended.
The pump will continue to work however 15 sec. after use an alarm comprising 3 beeps
combined with illumination of the worklights will signal that its return to Cembre for
overhaul is recommended (see § 4).
4. RETURN TO Cembre FOR OVERHAUL
In the case of a breakdown contact our Area Agent who will advise you on the problem and give
you the necessary instructions on how to dispatch the tool to our nearest service Centre; if possible,
attach a copy of the Test Certi cate supplied by Cembre together with the tool or  ll in and attach
