Power tool use and care4.

Do not force the power tool. Use a.

the correct power tool for your

application. The correct power tool

will do the job better and safer at the

rate for which it was designed.

dangerous and must be repaired.

Battery tool use and care5.

Recharge only with the charger a.

specied by the manufacturer. A

charger that is suitable for one type

of battery pack may create a risk of

pack.

Circular Saw Safety Warnings

1. DANGER: Keep hands away

from cutting area and the blade. If

both hands are holding the saw, they

cannot be cut by the blade.

Do not reach underneath the 2.

workpiece. The guard cannot

protect you from the blade below the

workpiece.

Adjust the cutting depth to the 3.

thickness of the workpiece.

Less than a full tooth of the blade

teeth should be visible below the

workpiece.

Never hold piece being cut in your 4.

hands or across your leg. Secure

the workpiece to a stable platform.

It is important to support the work

properly to minimize body exposure,

blade binding, or loss of control.

Hold power tool by insulated 5.

gripping surfaces when performing

an operation where the cutting tool

may contact hidden wiring. Contact

with a″ live″ wire will also make

exposed metal parts of the power tool

″ live″ and shock the operator.

When ripping always use a rip 6.

fence or straight edge guide. This

improves the accuracy of cut and

reduces the chance of blade binding.

Always use blades with correct 7.

size and shape (diamond versus

round) of arbor holes. Blades that

do not match the mounting hardware

of the saw will run eccentrically,

causing loss of control.

Never use damaged or incorrect 8.

blade washers or bolt. The blade

washers and bolt were specially

designed for your saw, for optimum

performance and safety of operation.

Causes and Operator Prevention 9.

of Kickback:

Kickback is a sudden reaction to a •

pinched, bound or misaligned saw

blade, causing an uncontrolled saw

to lift up and out of the workpiece

toward the operator;

When the blade is pinched or bound •

tightly by the kerf closing down, the

blade stalls and the motor reaction

drives the unit rapidly back toward

the operator;

If the blade becomes twisted or •

misaligned in the cut, the teeth at the

back edge of the blade can dig into

the top surface of the wood causing

the blade to climb out of the kerf and

jump back toward the operator.

Kickback is the result of saw misuse

and/or incorrect operating procedures

or conditions and can be avoided by

taking proper precautions as given

below:

Maintain a rm grip on the saw a.

and position your arms to resist

kickback forces. Position your

body to either side of the blade,

but not in line with the blade.

Kickback could cause the saw to

jump backwards, but kickback forces

can be controlled by the operator, if

proper precautions are taken.

When blade is binding, or when b.

interrupting a cut for any reason,

release the trigger and hold the

saw motionless in the material

until the blade comes to a

complete stop. Never attempt to

remove the saw from the work or

pull the saw backward while the

blade is in motion or kickback

may occur. Investigate and take

corrective actions to eliminate the

cause of blade binding.

When restarting a saw in the c.

workpiece, center the saw blade

in the kerf and check that saw

teeth are not engaged into the

material. If saw blade is binding, it

may walk up or kickback from the

workpiece as the saw is restarted.

Support large panels to minimize d.

the risk of blade pinching and

kickback. Large panels tend to sag

under their own weight. Supports

must be placed under the panel on

both sides, near the line of cut and

near the edge of the panel.

Do not use dull or damaged e.

blades. Unsharpened or improperly

set blades produce narrow kerf

causing excessive friction, blade

binding and kickback.

Blade depth and bevel adjusting f.

locking levers must be tight and

secure before making cut. If blade

adjustment shifts while cutting, it

may cause binding and kickback.

Use extra caution when making a g.

″plunge cut″ into existing walls or

other blind areas. The protruding

blade may cut objects that can

cause kickback.

Check lower guard for proper 10.

closing before each use. Do not

operate the saw if lower guard

does not move freely and close

instantly. Never clamp or tie the

lower guard into the open position.

If saw is accidentally dropped, lower

guard may be bent. Raise the lower

guard with the retracting handle and

make sure it moves freely and does

not touch the blade or any other part,

in all angles and depths of cut.

Check the operation of the lower 11.

guard spring. If the guard and the

spring are not operating properly,

they must be serviced before use.

Lower guard may operate sluggishly

due to damaged parts, gummy

deposits, or a build-up of debris.

Lower guard should be retracted 12.

manually only for special cuts

such as ″plunge cuts″ and

″compound cuts.″ Raise lower

guard by retracting handle and as

soon as blade enters the material,

the lower guard must be released.

For all other sawing, the lower guard

should operate automatically.

Always observe that the lower 13.

guard is covering the blade before

placing saw down on bench or

oor. An unprotected, coasting

blade will cause the saw to walk

backwards, cutting whatever is in its

path. Be aware of the time it takes

for the blade to stop after switch is

released.

DO NOT USE THIS SAW WITH THE 14.

SAW HELD UPSIDE DOWN IN A

VISE. The saw is not designed

for such use and cannot be used

safely in that position.

Do not use to cut logs, tree limbs, 15.

or uneven lumber.

Wet lumber, green (unseasoned) 16.

lumber, and pressure treated

lumber all have an increased

potential for kickback and should

only be cut with a blade for cutting

that lumber type. Wear a NIOSH-

approved respirator and have

appropriate ventilation whenever

cutting pressure treated lumber.

Do not use blades made from 17.

high-speed steel, abrasive blades,

metal-cutting blades or masonry-

cutting blades. The guards of this

saw are not designed to protect

against the failure of such blades.

Place the larger portion of the saw 18.

base on the larger, supported part

of the workpiece. This will help

maintain balance and control while

the cut is completed.

Blades must be rated to at least 19.

Do not place the charger on a

avoid placing the charger on

carpets and rugs; they are not only

ammable, but they also obstruct

vents under the charger.

Place the charger on a stable, solid,

Frequently monitor the charger and

battery while charging.

Tool Set Up

General Operating Instructions

WARNING! 1. TO PREVENT

BEFORE OPERATION:

Remove Battery Pack.a.

Adjust Blade Depth to extend b.

beyond bottom of workpiece by

1/4” or less. Lock Depth Knob

after adjustment.

Make sure that all guards are in c.

place and in proper working order.

Tighten all knobs/bolts, including d.

Blade Bolt, securely.

Install fully charged Battery Pack 2.

(67120, sold separately) into the back

of the handle.

Hold the saw with one hand on the 3.

Housing and the other hand on the

Handle.

Align Saw on cut line with the larger 4.

part of the workpiece to the left of the

Saw Blade.

Push the Trigger Lock to one side 5.

andsqueezetheTrigger.

Allow the Blade to come up to 6.

full speed before contacting the

workpiece.

Note: To prolong Battery Pack life, stop

use and switch to fresh battery pack

as soon as performance decreases.

After completing the cut, release the 7.

quality and durability standards, and warrants to the original purchaser that this product

is free from defects in materials and workmanship for the period of 90 days from the date

of purchase. This warranty does not apply to damage due directly or indirectly, to misuse,

abuse, negligence or accidents, repairs or alterations outside our facilities, criminal activity,

improper installation, normal wear and tear, or to lack of maintenance. We shall in no event

be liable for death, injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent, special

or consequential damages arising from the use of our product. Some states do not allow

the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation

of exclusion may not apply to you. THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY IN LIEU OF ALL

OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF

MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS.

To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with

transportation charges prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint

must accompany the merchandise. If our inspection veries the defect, we will either

repair or replace the product at our election or we may elect to refund the purchase price

if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement. We will return repaired

products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted

from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning

the product.
